"Direkt vid Röda Havet"
Vi är en familj på 2 vuxna och 2 barn som bodde 6 nätter på fina Renaissance Golden View Beach. Vi hade bokat 2 dubbelrum, ett till oss vuxna och ett till barnen. Direkt vid ankomst blev vi uppgraderade till rum med havsutsikt och fick rum som dessutom låg direkt intill varandra. Personalen var alltigenom fantastisk: "serviceminded", hjälpsam och trevlig. […] Hotellanläggningen är stor (men överskådlig) och ligger på en sluttning ner mot havet. Många trappor att avverka varje dag mellan stranden längst ner och reception/restaurang/pool längst upp – så det är inte att rekommendera för personer med rörelsehinder. Läget vid havet är helt fantastiskt. Korallrev direkt utanför stranden som man når genom en pontonbrygga. Vi snorklade flera gånger varje dag. Fantastiskt klart vatten och rikt på färgsprakande fiskar. Det finns några restauranger inom hotellområdet men de vänder sig främst till all-inclusive-gäster, även om man som "non-inclusive-gäst" också kan köpa sina måltider där. Vi valde att ta taxi till Old-Sharm eller Naama Bay om kvällarna, gå på shopping och välja bland massor av restauranger (med bra mat i alla segment). Taxi är billigt och det står alltid några bilar utanför hotellporten och väntar. Hotellet är känt som Mariott Renaissance för taxichaufförerna. "Outstanding service and amazing snorkeling"
Me and my husband spent four lovely days together in Sharm El Sheikh. We especially enjoyed the fact that the hotel is situated very close to the sea and the amazing coral reef. This gave us the possibility of snorkeling by the reef whenever we wanted - amazing experience! Bring your own snorkeling equipment if you have such. Also, the service at the […] hotel is outstanding - the staff really did everything they could to give us the best service possible. For example, upon arriving, we were upgraded to a better room (a family suite) free of charge, and were also allowed to check in to our suite early in the morning. Since we arrived very early in the morning, we were happy to find two plates of breakfast in our suite, even though breakfast on our arriving day was not included. Later we unfortunately had some bad luck with our suite, when reparations were made in the room next to ours. This caused a strong smell of fresh paint coming into our suite and made it impossible for us to stay there. But, after we discussed the matter with the desk manager (who understood and took it very seriously) he directly helped us to move to another suite - plus gave us a lovely dinner at the hotel's restaurant free of charge. Det er alt for overskruet og så lægger de 25% oveni prisen (som i forvejen er høj) i tax og service. Vi tog ud og spise hver aften (var der kun 2 nætter) i Old […] Marked (koster 10-15 kr med taxa), hvor prisnevauet er meget bedre. Vi snakkede med nogle danskere som havde spist buffet på hotellet og det var rigtig godt men dyrt. Alle andre stede kan man få et godt måltid for ca 120 kr for to personer. Bodde i ett rum med havsutsikt och det var fantastisk fint att sitta på balkongen om kvällarna och se alla dykbåtarna på väg in i hamn efter dagens dykutfärder. Snorklingen var dock betydligt bättre om man gick längs med vattnet söderut på hotellområdet. Bit dated needs some TLC..rooms are big and beds comfy although do hate 2 singles as a double...little things like bits of grouting and sealant dirty & furniture and curtains just a bit sad...& curtains in zinzina restaurant falling down..weeds on pathways but then they cut the flowering bushes!,...staff at Aqua bar friendly as was the towel man..but Rotunda bar and some of the zinzina restaurant staff made no eye contact and would serve you when they decided they were ready..Drinks poor quality both alcoholic & soft..probably my most sober holiday!!..our cleaner was good & we probably had most interaction from him, the spa staff,aqua bar and towel guy..Lovely reef for snorkelling and good pools..do go to Acapulco joes for food...excellent and large portions...good staff..you can easily share a meal for lunch & then nothing to pay.drinks are free if you are on the All inclusive. Food was hot although a bit repetitive and just not a great experience..we went through low cost holidays and the Apple rep Mohamed was brilliant and we did some great trips through him at a very reasonable cost...watch out for the resort hoppa if you use them to and from the airport they pressurise you for a tip for the driver...a bit out of order...the tour trips do great pick ups and they don't expect anything. I lived in Egypt for 2 years so know that 5 star is not the same as in UK however...there are better hotels than this...don't get me wrong it wasn't dreadful...just definitely not the best.

This is our 4th or 5th stay at the Renaissance Golden View, and as such it is apparant that we like it, 'a lot' We take 2/3 holidays a year these days, usually one to North America, and one to sunnier climes before a week away over Xmas. We have tried several Egyption resorts over the last few years but we have found none better than the Renaisance Golden View for an all round quality 5* hotel. There is not much I can add to my previous reviews as the hotel is still offering the same very high quality all round experience. I have recently suffered a signifiant brain injury that resulted in several strokes, so my mobility is somewhat impaired these days. The management and Customer Relations Supervisor (Valeria) made sure we were placed in the most convenient room for access to the pool and close to all the main amenities. Surprisingly an issue did arise that although not within the hotels remit (other guests), they addressed the matter very quickly and efficiently. The staff here are what really makes the real differance, they can not do enough for you, and are always trying to help. They are now doing fully inclusive holidays to cater for families who wish to gauge the costs before travel, although half board was more than sufficient for us, a huge late breakfast kept me going till dinner, which was always pleasantly displayed and of high quality. We also ate in the Italian Restaurant on 3 occassions which was a delight, with Amr acting the perfect host, and the food was a mixture of Fine Dinning but with large portions, I would recommend the Rib Eye Steak, I had it 3 times, but my wife sampled the salmon and the rack of lamb that she loved. It is not near the Naama Bay Centre which ensured a quiet relaxing two weeks, but it's only a £2 taxi fare away if that is your thing. All in all this remains one of the consistantly top performers in Sharm El Shiek and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. The only caveat would be to be aware of the Egyption School holidays in Sept when it can get a little busy.

As an Egyptian family , we were a bit worried about few negative comments concerning the beach and stairs to reach the shore . We did write to the management and we were assured that we will have a great time. So off we drove to Sharm El Shiekh We reached the hotel around 10:00 am and we were quickly greeted by a lovely Receptionist Mr.Mohamed who assist us in finalizing the check in process early and finished the check in formalities and upgrade our booked rooms immediatly to Family suite which was ground floor and near to hotel facilities . Then we were escorted to our room by the bellman ( Ibrahim ) who was a friendly person and informed us about the hotel facilities and how to make the best of our short break. Breakfast buffet was normal and need little variety and adding tea,coffe making instead of serving by waiters and staff who always busy with cleanning tables . then for the time for fun under the sun , great spot for kids and adults too , crystal clear water , and we had no problems with sun loungers or towels , all staff were super friendly. Overall hotel hotel locaction is excellent, staff are effecients and helpful , value for money is resonable Negative points : the beach is full of rocks, too many stairs to reach the beach , no night entertainment Tips for The hotel managemnet : scudeled club car could assist in transferring guests from the reception area to the beach using the ramp to facilitate reaching all hotel spots

My new husband and I stayed here for the 1st few nights of our honeymoon before moving on to a villa in Dahab. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely and spacious with gorgeous views over the Red Sea (I'm not sure if the upgrade was due to being a Marriott gold member, being on honeymoon, or both). The hotel beach is nice and we enjoyed having the waiters bring us cocktails/snacks to our sunloungers. The snorkelling off the jetty here is also pretty good - a rainbow of fish of all different shapes and sizes. The pool next to our apartment was also very nice to swim in. I don't think I'd want to be here as an all inclusive guest, as the food is so-so (judging this on one meal in the Italian restaurant, one in the Mexican, breakfasts, bar snacks and having seen one of the buffets). That said, I did enjoy my Jack Daniels-marinated BBQ chicken at the Mexican restaurant. One tip - my husband and I were very pleased to have our sea/sailing shoes with us as the sand gets incredibly hot, as does the floating jetty. They might look sillier than flip flops, but they stayed on our feet and we could swim in them (and also walk on rocks at other beaches more easily).

Ok, well I will try and be as honest as possible with this review.. Firstly the good points. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, gorgeous room, wonderful views over the sea, private beach, and comfortable sunbeds. The staff make this hotel, they are so lovely, helpful and can't honestly do enough for you. Every morning Mohammed the towel / pool man welcomed us to the same sunbeds, with towels already placed for us. Then Ahmed from the Rotunda bar would come round with ice cold water In an ice bucket for you. All through the day he would being us drinks to the sunbed, always with a smile and wanting to practice his English on us! . The downside, the main restaurant Coast, was too small for the number of guests. I felt the food was ok, but nothing special. They could make a few easy changes to improve this, by setting out drinks machines for tea/coffee, wine/ beer so you could help yourself. They insist on serving you your drinks, but the staff are so busy constantly cleaning up , they don't get chance to get to you, until you have usually finished your meal! I know the other guests aren't the hotels fault, but this is a very Egyptian holiday hotel, and tend to cater mainly for them. I found the Egyptian guests to be rude and incredibly greedy, piling their plates up with food, then just leaving it. Their children also ran riot around you, and they didn't seem to care. There are other restaurants you can dine in, which are much better all round, but have to pay towards your meal. They give you an allowance towards it, but that defeats the object if all inclusive as we ended up dining in the paying restaurants most nights, and ended up with a bill at the end of the week . The need to make it totally all inclusive with no hidden extras , and I'm sure it would make all the difference. There are an awful lot of steps, not a problem for us, but if you do have trouble walking this place is not for you . All in all we had a wonderful holiday here, and as I said the staff can it do enough for you . Renaissance, change your all inclusive package, and sort out the main restaurant then it will be perfect,

My partner and I stayed here for 11 nights during the start of Ramadan and the hotel wa sonly at 20% occupancy. It was bliss. Attentive service, never having to queue or wait for food, pools were never too busy and it was wonderfully peaceful. Special mention to Michael at the pool bar who looked after us wonderfully during our stay. Only downside were the shops in the hotel, the cheap knock offs appear good values for fake designer goods but the quality is pants. £50 for an imitation rolex that barely lasted a month. Oh well, it didn't dampen a great holiday.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday in this hotel made that bit more special by the excellent staff.It would be unfair to single out any particular members they were all very helpful and friendly.The room was all we could wish for spacious and clean with a great bathroom and plenty of hot water.The food was not the best in the main dining room but you had a great selection and you will not go hungry.The two other dining venues in which you were given an allowance off your meal were fantastic just a pity that standard could not be continued in the other dining room.We would have no problem returning to this hotel in future in fact we cant with to book again.

We stayed in March 2009. Great holiday, beautiful hotel and grounds. Staff were very friendly, helpful and hard working. Not far from Naama Bay with all the bars and restaurants. We used to get a taxi in each night, always had to barter with taxis but we just used to walk down the line of taxis until someone would take us for the price it should be, which was 10 Egyptian Pounds, they will always try to get more out of you, but we met some Egyptian friends who told us and used to get our taxis for us from Naama back to hotel and said to pay no more than 10. Breakfast at the hotel was lovely, lots of variety, from fresh fruit juices, fresh tea & coffee. Lots of choice of fruit, cereal, pastries, cooked breakfast. We often had lunch, but the wraps were so big, and everything came with fries, we just used to share. Naama bat was cheap enough for us to eat dinner out each night, drinks were cheap and plenty to choose from. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, we love Egypt.

- very poor variaties of food - very limited places for WI-Fi with very bad quality - there is no WI-FI in rooms - service at main all-inclusive restaurants very poor, arabian clients served much better than others, the staff hardly understands their duties - the hotel quite clean except toilets at reception zones - you can't get normal coffee in the morning - i am wondering about that as hotel able easily to buy at least 1 Nespresso machine especially for such an horrible clients like me - very good diving centre and sea service entertainment center - a-la carte food poor quality as well - very tough security with very irritative procedures - every Tuesday you can hardly sleep due to close hotel disco shouting up to 3 a.m. - guest relation manager tried to improve the situation and it a bit makes life better but substantialy doesn't change bad management of the hotel - be sure as Gold Marriott rewards member i know what i am talking about
