Location of the hotel is amazing. View from our room was outstanding. We did want to book a king bed however got put into a double. Hotel is showing its age / No real hotel lobby to relax in if that is your thing. Exercise room is small/was too hot to be comfortable.

This is a great hotel for the price. The room was nice and spacious and we loved having a fridge for our dinner leftovers. The hotel is in a great location. The staff is very friendly. Several hours after we checked out we realized my 6 yr old was missing her iPod. We called the hotel and the maid had turned it in. So they're honest too. The only negatives […] I can think of are that the lobby is very small and the hotel in general may be starting to show some signs of being run down. Stayed as a holiday tradition with my family to experience the Christmas Season in Chicago. The hotel was nice but small. There are four rooms per floor, each with a corner vista of the city. The room was huge and amazingly quiet for being right on Michigan Ave! Close to shopping and other sites. Bed was very comfortable, breakfast was good too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a problem with the drain in the tub; drain wouldn't seal, so a maintenance man brought in a new plug so I could take a bath. I could not get it to drain […] after that, but I just stuck a wash cloth under the edge of the plug to solve the problem. We only stayed overnight, but if you needed a place to stay for several days, it would be ideal! The room had a full kitchen and a dishwasher as well as a washer and dryer! While the suite wasn't spacious or particularly upscale, the location was perfect for shopping on the Magnificent Mile or State Street. We had a great stay overall. Hotel room was very clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location just north of Millenium Park and museums, near restaurants, good walking routes for sightseeing, etc. Example of staff attention: The hairdryer in the bathroom did not work so we mentioned it to the front desk attendant when we returned from […] the Field Museum. By the time the elevator arrived on our floor (23rd floor) a maintenance person was already working on it! On the downside, the breakfast area was small and sometimes the morning visitors went through the food faster than it could be replenished. Although the breakfast room could be crowded at times, guests could still grab a yogurt and a few pieces of fruit to eat in their rooms. This location is great. We attended a concert at the Chicago Theater, which was only 5 blocks away. The beds were comfortable. I was traveling with two teenagers and thought the room would have 2 queens and a sofa bed, but it did not have a sofa or sitting area - - just 2 queen beds and a desk. The bathroom was not designed well as the toilet and tub/shower […] were all in one room. We did not use the kitchen, but it was well appointed. Breakfast was ok, but very crowded between 8:30 and 9:00. Not many tables for a hotel this size. Leave time to catch the elevators, there are only two, and they are busy in the mornings. Read more

We had a fantastic stay at CSC - so surprised by the size of the room (our two kids had a BLAST running around it!) and the view! The kitchenette and washer/dryer were awesome perks. We discovered that our fridge didn't work on the first day - made a call to the front desk and when we got back from our day about town, there was a NEW fridge in our room […] and all our food & drinks had been neatly arranged inside. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location if you want to check out the heart of this great city. Can't say enough good things. This hotel is grossly overpriced, the reason is because of the location! It is an older building with 26 floors with very narrow hallways and there are about 5 rooms per floor. Only 2 elevators service this building, which are very slow! The condition of the room is below average. The main bed is okay, but the sofa sleeper is nasty and in terrible condition […] (if your body is achy don't sleep on this thing you will be worse). There was 4 of us in the suite and everyday we had to ask for more towels because there was not enough and or the towels are in terrible condition! We are a younger couple staying in downtown Chicago for vacation. The hotel experience was wonderful overall, friendly staff, very clean and comfortable rooms, a lovely view of downtown and Michigan avenue. The only con we could find was that the fridge in our suite did not cool; the freezer was fridge temperature, so we had to put things in the freezer […] to stay cool!
