Primasol Louis Ionian Sun - Corfu Town

We are an early 50’s couple and this was our first trip to Greece The stay at the Primasol Louis Ionian Sun was pleasant but the hotel is older and a bit drab. The rooms are very basic with little if any character. I did have an issue with the air conditioning. The first room I checked into was in the main large building and found the a/c basically […] useless. After sweating it out one July night, I told the front desk that the a/c in my room wasn’t working. They sent someone to fix it, but after a second sweaty night I again told them that if was not working. The front desk manager relocated us to a room high up the hill overlooking the pool and sea. This one of 2-3 newer buildings that are separate from the main large tower. The newer room had modern and useful a/c and saved my stay. That being said, the location of the hotel is quite nice – right on its own somewhat pebbly beach. The resort/hotel is an all-inclusive and we found the food quite good. I was amazed at the staff’s ability to feed maybe one thousand people a decent breakfast and dinner buffet (better than most casino buffets I’ve experienced). I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. I rented a car and spent the majority of my four days exploring Corfu and it seems 90% of the guests stayed at the resort for the beach and booze. If you are a go-out-and-explore kind of traveler you will definitely want a car as this hotel is too far from the main town and the busses looked packed and hot. Read more

More like a 2 star hotel. Food is horrible and rooms are nothing like a 4 star hotel. The beach on front of the hotel is below average. Would not recomend It!!

We've just returned from a lovely week at the Louis Regency Beach. Travelling with a 4 month old and a 2 year old (and my mother who had flown in from the States) were a bit nervous as to whether the hotel would suit both our children and adults alike. The overall hotel and experience was fabulous. It wasn't as decadent or luxurious as past stays in […] all-inclusives in the Dominican Republic or Mexico, but it was just what we needed considering the price and location. The food and drink was excellent. Great wine and cocktails at both the pool and beach bars. The selection of fresh food appealed to all- really nice hot and cold selections. The beach was actually really great for all of us, especially having a toddler as we could sit on the loungers and watch her safely play in the water. I recommend bringing snorkel gear if you enjoy this as we loved swimming with the fish, and there was no gear to rent or buy. It was fantastic night-time swimming for adults as well! The pebbly beach did not bother any of us--in fact it was quite nice not having sand stuck in young childrens' mouths and clothes. The pool was also quite lovely. Nice and clean and a good place to relax in the morning with plenty of loungers and sun umbrellas available. Bar and snacks available all day at the pool as well, and endless supplies of ice cream for the kiddies. The 6th floor terrace is lovely in the evening, overlooking the sea. First off, the staff and service level were outstanding. The property itself is quite isolated with the nearest village approx 10 min by bus. It is also quite old and despite some make shift renovations still looks a little run down. Room was spacious but the beds were extremely hard. Lot's of empty wall space that should have had some hooks installed […] to hang towels, etc. Afterall, it is a beach resort. Food was plentiful and for the most part quite satisfactory. Nightly entertainment ws sub-par at best. Mostly western type music that I can listen to at home. When I visit a certain place, I expect to experience their culture, therefore, predominent Greek music and entertainment would have been welcome with some others mixed in for variety. Read more

We have just returned from an excellent, relaxing family holiday. The hotel was everything I had hoped after reading the reviews: The food and drink was fantastic. Loved the fish dishes and Greek entrees--there was always something wonderful to choose from. The wine and cocktails were also excellent, and thanks to the wonderful staff for mixing them […] up by pool and seaside! Our cleaning lady was lovely. She fussed over my baby and made us feel welcome. The trip also proved a success as we were nervous travelling with a 5 month old and a 2 year old, but the hotel/beach is great for kids and adults alike. The beach is shallow and pebbly (which was actually quite nice--no sand stuck to you and/or kids) and the sea was warm, clear and lovely. We also brought our own snorkel gear, which I recommend. We were able to sit on the beach loungers within feet of the water and watch our toddler safely play in the sea which was marvelous. Of course the beach bar was also a favourite. The pool was also nice and clean--well maintained and snacks/drinks offered throughout the day. The sea view was nice, weather perfect and hot and the overall experience wonderful. My only request is that we would have enjoyed a bit more traditional Greek entertainment, although the kids were amused by the evening shows it was a bit cheesy for our tastes. Vi hadde et flott opphold på Primasol Louis Ionian Sun. Vi kom tidlig men fikk sjekket inn tidlig. Det hadde skjedd en booking feil så vi fikk først ikke familierom, men betjeningen var særdeles serviceinnstilt og vi fikk et flott stort familierom straks. Hotellet ligger strategisk fint til med flott utikt over sjøen og med kort vei til Korfu by og […] fine strender. Vi er glad for at vi leide bil slik at vi kunne reise til gode strender (steinstrand ved hotellet). Praktisk leiebilservice ved hotellet. Rolig atmosfære ved hotellet til tross for en viss størrelse; fint for familier; praktisk talt ikke "syden bråk". God daglig renhold. Heisene var små med liten kapasitet så bedre å ta trappene. Praktik liten butikk på hotellet. Prøvde ikke poolen. Måtte betale daglig fee for bruk av safen men ok. Internett måtte kjøpes men dårlig signal på rommet. Maten var ok, men nokså repetitiv (ikke gourmet!) All-inklusive var praktisk men vi benyttet sjelden mer enn frokost og middag. En bør legge inn noen gode restaurantopplevelser utenfor hotellet. Air condition i spisesalen ville hjulpet betydelig; til tider nokså hektisk i spisesalen der personalet ikke klarte å ta unna raskt nok etc. All in all en veldig god ferie for oss og vi kunne godt tenke oss å komme tilbake eller benytte et av selskapets andre hoteller andre steder.
