Over all very satisfied! The girl at the reception was super nice and very helpfull. The location is good. The kitchen was poorly equiped.... Only 2 forks, 2 knifes,one very small pot.......but again, i called the sweet receptionist and bingo!

The Quadrant has a great location for visits to University of Auckland. It is a very short walk to the campus and is a convenient site for walking to the harbor. It is located a couple of blocks from Queen St. so you get the easy access without the noise. The front desk staff was very helpful with travel arrangements.

Hotel ruined my cloths what they did complimentary laundry, cause i didn't had washing machine at my room. I asked that i could change the room but receptionist was like we can really do it for you. Well, cloths returned semi wet, all pushed in one bag wrinkled, all the colors had been washed without separating them making white cloths look like hippie […] shirts, all other colors stained really badly, 2 shrinked really a lot that can't wear them any more. Usually professional staff know how to handle other peoples belongings, but not here!! Hotel didn't pay for me from those ruined cloths except only amount of ONE shirt! And even the worst thing was how they handled this in reception, embarrassing me in front of other customers, 3 staff members going true my cloths and saying that "these aren't even real brand marks, you can get these from any where by 40dollars", Tell me where you get brands like Galliano and Calvin Klein by that amount?? They were real, now in condition to trash bin, thanks to this unprofessional hotel stuff. I wouldn't recommend this hotel with rude and unprofessional staff even to even to my worst enemys! Hoeever, like too many other Auckland hotels, if breakfast is not included in your room rate, it's very expensive. The hotel is located in the backyard of Auckland University. So, there are hundreds of students at your doorstep. There's no service elevator. […] You'll be inconvenienced a lot with staff constantly using the 3 guests elevators, especially in the mornings and afternoons when they are cleaning rooms. Expect to wait a while for an elevator. The lounge area is very small and not comfortable. The location to the downtown area is good but expect steep streets to get there. Very nice hotel/apartment in central Auckland. Yes, it is up a hill, but many busses go by, including the free Sky City Shuttle to many attractions. I was here for a month and got a good feel for the place. Since it was only me, I had a studio apartment, which is perfect for one person. Size up according to your needs. Countdown grocery store just down the hill on Victoria/Queen streets (also by bus location that takes you back to hotel). Easy walk to harbor and Britomart where busses will take you anywhere you want to go. Get a HOP bus card for easy riding. Better than we expected for the price and the location of the hotel. Nice surroundings in the beautiful park, yet a walking distance to everything in downtown. Studio seemed to be new and quiet, 19 floor.

The first thing that was a little disappointing was having flown for past 21 hours and not having our room ready at 3pm when we arrived. The view our room had was nice certainly as it faced the harbor, but the air conditioning didn't do anything for the bedroom if you closed the door. If you left the door open, the blackout curtains didn't close the […] entire length of the windows in the livingroom, so you woke up when the sun did. The housekeeping was inconsistent. There was a different number of bath and hand towels each of the five days we were there. Finally, plan on living out of your suitcase. There wasnt a single drawer in the room (unless you used the ones in the kitchen) and the closet was tiny - almost enough for one person. Location is good, and the place has a few things going for it, but new management would help iron out these issues. Read more

My husband and I checked into the hotel on a Saturday night. We asked about parking and were told that valet would be $28 but that there was the option to park on the street after 6pm. Because the next day was Sunday we would be able to park most places until whenever on Sunday without paying. We chose the street parking. $28 for one night of parking […] is insane. We ended up going out and doing some driving before coming back to the hotel. When we got to our room the room was very hot and there was no AC. We opened the deck door to get some air in the room and that worked well. The only issue was that there was a lot going on outside so when we went to bed (about 11pm) I didn't want to leave the door open because it was loud outside. We left the door open a crack but even still we could hear what was going on outside. It may have been better if we were on the other side of the hotel or if it hadn't been a Saturday night but you would think that being on the 4th floor (10th floor since the 6th is the lobby) it wouldn't be so loud. Although the room was nice - kitchen, washing machine, really nice bathroom, and the bed was comfortable, I didn't sleep as well as I should have because of the noise outside. Closing the door was not an option because of how warm it was. If they were to get AC in the building, I think that would make a HUGE difference. Read more

The Quadrant hotel is a very new hotel with boutique-like interior. The hotel is located just minutes from the Wharf and a couple blocks from Queen Street. I was really very pleased with this hotel. I didn't expect much from it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well appointed the room was. Overall not a 4 star hotel in any way, shape or form. Very slow check in , 20 minutes with only 2 people in front of us both at the check in desk. 45 minutes to get room ready afterwards. Condition of hotel was very unkept, dirt carpets, tears in the elevator panels, scuffed walls and casing. I needed a sanctuary, and found one at the Quad. Flat screen, kitchenette and washer/dryer - all were welcome and needed! Oh, and the room was clean, tasteful, moderne. A 5-minute walk the next morning to the bus stop (Q4) for the Airport Express bus. Perfect and a great price!

Found the internet connection to be hopeless - unless you were happy to sit on the bathroom floor. Washer/dryer did not dry clothes. Gym equipment almost non-existent, but staff pleasant, valet parking good and the shower was the best part of the stay.

This is a nice short stay hotel close to downtown - maybe 10 minute walk to the waterfront. The staff were extremely friendly if a bit disorganized. Room was clean with a small kitchenette. Loud music in the lifts and hallway was the only negative.

This was a fun hotel. No pretention, nice people, small, but comfortable rooms, nice area. My sole objection was that at 71 years old it was not easy for me to make that uphill climb back to the hotel after a day of walking around lovely Auckland. No regrets, however. I needed the exercise.

The spa did not work. Despite calling prior to arrival, no one informed me it was not working even though I asked about the facilities. After complaints made on the first day, the Asst Manager arranged for a month free pass at The Hyatt next door to use their facilities, pool etc. That was fine after that. I don't even know where to begin! Upon arrival, I was greeted by an extremely polite and professional staff. The hotel is very modern and clean, including the rooms. The bed is very comfortable, and the cleaning service was more than happy to help in any way. For the price, this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, in any part of the world.

You can't beat the Quadrant for its value and location: Directly across from the university, a 10-minute walk to downtown shopping and major tourist attractions and right across from a major park. This is basically a boutique hotel right next door to the (much more expensive) Hyatt. Service was quite good, the hotel was very clean and well-maintained […] and the free Wi-Fi was a real plus. The bed was quite comfortable. Be aware that studio rooms are quite small (think cruise ship cabin) but functional. Having a small kitchen with coffee pot, hot plate and refrig was nice, although you won't want to cook much in the small studio. There is a very small bar onsite. The restaurant is just open for breakfast, but there is all-day room service. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Be aware that check-in is late in day, so if you are arriving from North America on an early morning flight, book your hotel room for the night before arrival so it is waiting for you. The hotel was a great value and very comfortable. I would definitely stay again. I highly recommend it. I'm a Hilton kind of guy, and I'd take this over the local Hilton (or other expensive chain hotels) any day. Read more
