Rooms are very small and beds are too small. The room temperature was too hot as the aircon panel was uncontrollable. The room furnishings were clean and functional. Bathroom was clean however towels were never changed over the four day stay. Hotel advertises a Sauna, however they charged 450 Krona for a 20 minutes use. Air conditioner broke in room. I was moved to a second room and on the third night, the air conditioner broke in that room, so I was moved to a smaller third room--but I was still charged for the larger room. We stayed here for three nights on a tour of Europe and Prague was one of our favorite desinations, but the hotel was nothing special. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were pretty nice. Not sure how this hotel got 4 star status. The reception were friendly enough. There is a sauna that they will switch on for you if you give them an hours notice - then they charge you 7 gbp pr hour each. Only 10 minutes to main road easy access to Metro - overall good. The hotel is situated in an ok quiet location. The immediate neighborhood does not have much to offer but we were about a 10 - 15 minute walk from wenceslas square. The train/tram stop was about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel itself was average. Two english speaking TV channels (cnn, bcc). There is no business center to print out boarding passes or […] anything else for that matter. However, the front desk does allow one to use their printer. The bar in the hotel is more or less non existent. There is no restaurant. The free breakfast from 7 - 10 am was pretty good (eggs, sausages, cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, coffee, juice, etc.). We really enjoyed this hotel, we had great service and it was far enough out of the main streets that we could sleep without tons of noise and super close to the tram lines which take you directly to the metros. The only ONE and the biggest minus welcomed me upon arriving! I arrived one hour prior to the check-in time (check-in time is 2 p.m.) and that girl in front of the reception made me wait 1 hour before I was checked-in. and the way she did it wasnt good for the hotel. Everything else was great: location, room and the conditions of living.

All was what you would expect from aany hotel. Clean comfortable room, (no shower curtain which make a bit of a mess) decent breakfast. Only complain was the reception tried to promote their own partner restaurants. We arrived late in the evening and asked if there was a restaurant near by and reception said either pizza (delivered to room) or xxx restaurant […] which was 10km away. When asked if there was anything closer, she said she was not aware. Nevertheless we took a walk and just around the corner we found many places to eat. We seriously looked into staying at bare bones hostels that were actually more expensive (for 2 people) than the Hotel Crystal Palace’s double room. Look around and see for yourself. Dollars to doughnuts, their rooms and amenities are second to none. The location of the Hotel Crystal Palace was exactly what we look for, something close in proximity/walking distance to the tourist attractions, shopping & food (my favorite US coffee vendor), but not on a busy street on top of or near a night club or bar. In other words, you will not need ear plugs to get a good night’s sleep nor will you need to take a taxi to get to the places you will want to visit. We were absolutely thrilled with our bargain, the comfortable stay at the Hotel Crystal Palace and the beautiful city of Praha. We stayed 9 nights and were extremely pleased with the delicious and varied breakfast buffets each morning. The staff were kind and spoke English well. After reading one review...I rushed out to the dollar store and bought […] a shower curtain and rings because someone said the water sprayed everywhere because there was no curtain. Our room had no problems whatsoever...there are doors that close on the shower and as long as you remove the hand-held shower head before turning it on full blast, you will be completely fine. The windows open to let in fresh air...but the air conditioning and heating worked fine (we totally had to use them both due to the strange weather). The walls are thicker than most hotels. The hotel is conveniently located to everything. Public transportation was easily accessible and so many things were in walking distance. There are soooo many wonderful restaurants nearby or within close proximity. The river is a short walk as well as St. Wenceslas Square. We love this hotel and would definitely would return again! I read a few reviews on this hotel before leaving the country. Adverse comments were made about rude staff and poor maintenance. I found the hotel to be more than adequate; the rooms were as shown on the brochures and extemely c lean. The staff were helpful. The hotel was in a great location of Wenceslas Square. There is a few nice bars jsut around the corner as well as convenience shops if you need to run out and get something. The nearest metro station is only a 10 minute walk away. The staff were friendly. However our air conditioning unit did not work (because the window sensor was broken) and they […] 'could do nothing to help'. They did not even have a fan for us to borrow. They suggested leaving the balcony door open but this was a shared balcony with the whole floor so was not an option. The breakfast was passable but not particularly good. On the plus side, the room was clean, the bathroom was excellent and they picked up my boyfriend's date of birth from his passport check during check-in and surprised us with a free little bottle of champagne and a lovely note! Very good location, very close to Wenceslas square. However it is definetely not a 4 star hotel. Our room was always clean. However we booked a double room but got a twin one. When asked reception to give us a double room, we were told they were all occupied. Most of the reception staff were very helpful and friendly, however some of them had "can't […] be asked" attitude. Our bathroom was of a very high quality, but seemed unfinished - with no curtain or a glass door to have a shower, hence after 5 mins of shower floor was covered in water. Breakfast was excellent, good choice of cold meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, toast etc. They have parking places in the courtyard of the hotel and prices are reasonable, but if there are no places in the courtyard, you can park in their different car park and it is more expensive. Dowstairs they have a sauna, but using it is a bit of a hassle. You need to tell them one hour in advance if you want to use it so they can prepare sauna for you, and payment for sauna is an extra. Overall it is a nice hotel, but I wouldn't rate it as a 4 star. Read more

Most definitely NOT a 4* hotel! Upon arrival, we were offered 2 single rooms rather than the double with 2 single beds we had booked. We were then offered a single room with another cot set up. We eventually got a double room. However, the carpet in the room was very dirty. Room was tidied on first morning, thereafter, it was replacement of towels only. […] Tried to get some tea to take to our room at 10 p.m. and was told by the staff person on duty that the bar was closed - yes, it had just turned 10 p.m. and there was not one other person in either the reception or the the bar area which he was covering.
