"Pleasantly surprised (thank you Roberta!)"
We had a wonderful stay during our quick trip to Pompei. The room was quiet and clean and very close to the entrance to the ruins. We found a terrific restaraunt just past the plaza, after the fountain, for dinner. Order the appetizer special. Breakfast was perfect, outside on a patio in the garden with lemon trees overhead. It was really unexpected. […] The courtyard/entrance area was beautiful with tables and chairs, grapes of all varieties hung above and citrus and pepper plants in pots. Roberta gave us some help with an email and fax for us, her good Engish was very helpful to us. She is a great asset to the hotel! If we return to Pompei we would definatly stay there again. "A wonderful time"
The Hotel Fourm is just a two minute walk to the main entrance to Pompei. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. When I needed recommendations for dining they did a wonderful job in their suggestions. I would certainly stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Hotel location is perfect across the ruins"
Very helpful and wonderful staff. The breakfast was the best we had and the service was excellent. The location is superb.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is great value and is also a great hotel. Perfect location and couldnt believe the price was that low after the ealry part of our trip in northern italy. Only downside is getting to pompeii! Made a mistake and took cercumvechia from naples when our europass included a regular bus then short train ride that was nicer and closer to hotel. Dont […] take the metro unless you need to and then dont get out at pompeii scavi but at pompeii station proper. Otherwise a long walk or 15 euro cab. Great starting point to sorrento for a day trip. For visiting the ruins couldn't be easier. Free secure parking across road & then walk to everywhere. Hotel undergoing renovations but was not bothersome. It is a nice clean small hotel, with pretty garden & easy drop off for baggage etc. Rooms are a bit cramped but small price to pay for benefit of location. Very pleasant breakfast room & varied breakfast. […] Great wifi everywhere. Tried dinner almost next door at A'ddu Mimi. Your host Roberto couldn't do more to make you happy in his rustic restaurant up the stairs, showcasing local produce & wine of which this 5th generation restaurateur is very proud. "Trip to Pompeii"
Can not fault our stay. The only thing we can pick on was that the bed was a bit hard. Otherwise our stay was perfect. Highly recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Superb location for excavations"
Enjoyed it very much. Very friendly staff, excellent room and facilities. The only reason for not giving a 5 for condition of the hotel is that some work was ongoing, but this was a minor issue.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, comfortable Hotel next to excavation site"
This hotel is right next to the main pompeii excavation site, and it is also fairly close (not walking distance - use the circumvesuvo train) to the other sites (Herculaneum, Oplontis, Stabiae, Boscoreale and their sub-sites). So I'd recommend it as a base for tourists. I much preferred Pompeii to Naples, but Sorrento isn't far so that could be an alternative […] base. The Pompeii excavation site is huge and so instead of spending time travelling I could spend that time in the site. In regards to the Hotel, I was initially put in a pokey room with loud music nearby, but after a word to the receptionist I was moved into a lovely room for the rest of the stay. Quite a few rooms in the hotel were being gutted and redecorated and I think this meant the available rooms were limited. I think single travellers often get stuck in small rooms despite what hotels advertise the rooms as being on Expedia. Continental breakfast was nice. Reception staff were always friendly, although occasionally so absorbed in whatever they were doing that I felt like I interrupting when I got their attention. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Brilliant hotel if visiting Pompeii"
We stayed at the Hotel Forum for 3 nights as we wanted to visit Pompeii. It was a brief stroll away to the gates of Pompeii and so an excellent choice. The Hotel was one of the best on the strip and we were very pleased we chose it. Friendly, helpful staff made our stay really enjoyable. I e-mailed in advance and they sent a cab to pick us up from the […] airport, upgraded our room and were very helpful (and honest) about booking tours for Pompeii. They arranged a superb guide for us. Thankfully their English was superb, as our Italian is poor! Our room was spacious, clean and modern, with a lovely view over the lemon garden. Large bathroom with both bath & large shower, toiletries and plenty of towels which were replaced daily. Mini bar & safe, but no tea & coffee making facilities. There is a tiny bar which offers a large range of complimentary nibbles if you want a pre-dinner drink, but their is a very limited dinner menu which was rather disappointing. Breakfast buffet was adequate. We stayed very early in the season, so maybe things liven up a bit during the summer months. Overall a really enjoyable stay and we will go back to the Hotel Forum if we visit Pompeii again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Value and Location"
Stayed for just one night with my son while on a walking holiday in the area. The location was ideal, near to all the facilities and sights but set back from the road allowing peace and quiet. The staff were friendly and the breakfast choice really good. I would definitely return if in the area again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We were in room 32. There was no view. Could not get a room with the view as one floor of the hotel was closed for renovations. The room was spacious and welcoming. "Friendly hotel, close to Roman ruins"
Good hotel, very close to ancient Pompeii (Forum entrance right across the road), and close to the centre of the modern town. Walking distance to both suburban train stations and the main line. Our room on third floor was quiet, with its own balcony and en suite. The bed was firm, towels changed daily, sheets every two days. A small minibar provided […] welcome cold drinks (at a price). The restaurant which we used only for breakfast overlooks a lovely garden, full of citrus trees, and should be lovely in summer, with plenty of outsude seating. Breakfast was plentiful and reasonable, with a choice of hot and cold buffet options as well as fruit, yogurt, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the small downstairs bar meant that we could socialise with our friends and other guests, well supplied with appropriate drinks and assorted complementary home made snacks, olives, nuts, etc. Altogether a great find, and we would be happy to return. Note: hotel guests can park for free in a nearby car park, but if you are primarily interested in the archaeological sights you won't need a car as public transport is excellent. "Two (very) old schoolfriends celebrating their70th"
We discussed various destinations to mark our February birthdays and decided on Pompeii as somewhere reasonably warm with interesting things to do and see. We like Italy anyway, the four of us having holidayed there before. H chose the hotel and I chose the car. The entrance to the hotel was through a courtyard of lemon trees draped with fairy lights, […] then through a stylish glass door that slid into the wall. Marble everywhere: on the floor, on the stairs, enhanced with well-kept potplants. Reception was immediately very friendly and helpful. There was always at least one person on duty throughout our stay, ready with an immediate response to any query and always smiling. The free parking was 2 mins away; there were PCs for guest use in the lobby. In 6 days we managed to see Herculanaeum, Pompeii (entrance literally 100 mts from hotel), Paestum (greek ruins down the coast), the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Naples. We could have done most of it without a car; the trains are frequent and cheap, and buses too. Our rooms were good (one bigger, the other with a balcony) and everything worked and was in good condition. Breakfast was help yourself and of excellent quality - real fresh fruit, proper bread, delicious scrambled eggs. The Bar was comfortable and cosy with tasty nibbles - olives to die for! I imagine in summer it's even better as you can sit outside or on the roof terraces. I wish there was a Hotel Forum in every city - highly recommended A. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Hotel is very nice. Only thing I would say is the rooms are alittle basic. But clean and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
V close to Pompeii entrance, nice garden in hotel, set back off street so quiet, 4 star but IS Southern Italy so think 3 comparison, partner thought bed comfy, extractor fan noisy in Rm 29 but turn on light over sink through night to avoid disturbing others. "Lovely hotel right opposite Pompei Scavi entrance"
We had our honeymoon break here. The staff were friendly and helpful as well as all the Italians that we came across. We made a great use of the trains and buses to get to the hotel from the airport and to explore the area. The breakfast buffet was more than ample and a very good selection. We found evening meals in the hotel simple, satisfying and […] well cooked, the pizzas were tasty. We had a junior suite with a view of mount Vesuvius. The room was really comfortable and just what you needed after an exhausting day of sight seeing. The gardens were beautiful and would be lovely to sit in of an evening if the weather had been a bit warmer (it was November). Would we stay here again yes yes yes cannot wait but we would stay longer next time. Thank you hotel forum you helped to make our honeymoon break unforgettable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very nice hotel, just a few minutes walk from the Pompeii excavations (the entrance near the amphitheatre). Our room was lovely. We ate dinner in Pompeii town, so can't comment on the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was OK though. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is an excellent hotel just a stones throw from the Gate entrance. It is very clean and very calming from the hectic bustle of the town and the ruins. "Beautiful room, decent location"
We made a one day stop in this hotel to visit Pompeii. We weren't disappointed with our choice. The hotel was right across the street from one of the entrances to the ruins, and about a 10 minute walk from the Pompei Scavi Circumvesuviana train station. The room itself was beautiful, with gorgeous high ceilings. It was much larger than expected. Although […] we were on the lowest floor, next to the roadway, it was still very quiet. The room was outfitted with modern fixtures, lighting, and furniture. Checking in and out was quick and the service was friendly. We ate at the breakfast buffet in the morning, and it had a wide selection of delicious food to suit our tastes. For a quick stop in Pompeii, we definitely recommend this hotel. "Great location for the ruins."
Had a very nice stay for a couple of nights. Despite being a very good value and excellent location hotel, it wasn't very busy. "Definitely worth staying in Pompei"
Lovely hotel near the center of town, though not quite as close to the train station as you might be led to believe - it's a 15-20 minute walk, but an easy one. "Good location but don't expect a warm welcome"
This hotel is in a great location for the site of old Pompeii and it was a very comfortable hotel with a great breakfast. The major downside for me was the feeling that the staff didn't really care about the guests. They were helpful when asked for information but generally we were not made to feel welcome and felt we were interrupting them when asking […] for something or simply handing in our key on the way out. "Great for early access to the ruins"
Location excellent - short walk to back entrance of Pompeii ruins - by going in at 9-00am we had the ruins to ourselves for at least 30 minutes which was an amaxing experience - try the Amphitheatre echo out! Located on a busy street but room was quiet. Good view from balcony. Room was clean but a little 'tired' but more than adequate for us. We missed […] the presence of a bar/lounge - whilst there was a lounge dining room it was not somewhere you could sit, have a drink and relax. Gardens were OK for this when it was warm enough. Gardens were a little unkempt and overgrown - probably not an issue in the summer as the weeds would be dead! Breakfast usual european style buffet adequate but repetitious - again not an issue on a short stay. Eat once in the restaurant - on the evening we arrived. Ate on our own in the empty room - food OK but we didnt eat there again much better options available within walking distance try La Bettola Del Gusto. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This was an excellent find. The location was superb, right outside one of the entrances for the archaeological site. The hotel had real character and had tasteful decor. The room was well furnished and we looked out onto the main street, but could hear no noise. There was also a balcony which provided a view of Vesuvius. The breakfast room was overlooking […] the garden/courtyard where orange and lemon trees were laden with fruit. The breakfast was plentiful.
