Inside room is nothing fancy, but functional and clean. Tile floors (leave your flipflops at the door to avoid sandy bedsheets), tiny bathroom, cute decor. Outside is fun and tropical. Lots of coconut, seagrape, and banana trees, pool area is nice, boat slips, tiki tables all over the place. Lots of places to go for food, souvenirs, fishing, beaching. […] All a short walk away. Easy to cross streets. Feels like old Key West on the grounds. Staff were friendly. Office is in the back of the ginormous souvenir shop. Loud, fun, openair bar/grill across street serves meals all day. Still quiet in rooms. Bring your own coffee. There is a coffee maker and filters, but no coffee supplied. THIS hotel is fine. Has a coffee pot but bring your own coffee. Our room was by the pool and nice to sit out and enjoy the pool area especially in the morning while having coffee. The only drawback that we had was there is no electrical outlets in the bathroom... the hair dryer is on the bedroom wall.

I had a good stay at the hotel. The only thing that I didn't care for was the parking arrangements. Should be a designated area for the motorcycles. They took up one whole car spot. The location of the hotel is great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Thanks

I have stayed here every year for the past 4 yrs. for a family Christmas party. Will not go back. Had to pay a $100 deposit on room (first time ever). They should have a reference book that lists us as reputable guests. Air conditioner in room was so loud, we could not have it on at all at night.

Our room was very clean and comfortable although a little on the small side. It contained a small refrigerator with a sink, 2 burner stove and microwave.. Directly outside our door was a very nice pool that was very nice and well maintained. The grounds were very nicely manicured in tropical like surroundings that included tiki huts and swings, benches […] and chairs which looked out over the harbor. hotel cannot accomodate more than 2 regular sized people in double beds. i am 6ft and my feet were sticking out of bed..otherwise its ok if you like really realy cozy places(cramped)

Very good hotel, we stayed here on Spring Break and it was very quite. They let up check in early and let us keep our luggage there after checkout while we went to the beach. 1 block from the beach, close to restaurants and shops very convenient. Have seen the Shipwreck Motel from the outside but never the rooms. At check-in (in the gift shop) we were told had to park on the side due to new building in front of rooms being built and not near the room. Had a new housekeeping person and she had not swept the floor..returned to desk and clerk went with us to check another room they would move us […] to..she did not like that room and gave us an upgrade to a great room with view to accomodate us.. it was very nice!!! Location great but be prepared for a walk to room and some construction areas ... pool looked nice but we did not use.. they were also trimming palm trees that day over the pool area.... Read more

Very cool place to stay. Its close to everything. The room we had was small but well equipped. Kitchenette was good for saving on the food bill. Its close to the beach, just a short walk to it plus all the shops and local food joints you could ask for. All in all well worth the price.

If your a party person there is always beer to drink. We were there in the winter and chose it because it gets dark early and wanted something to do. Shipwreck is right in the heart of the action - 100 yards from the beach, near Times Square activity and many bars/restraurants/shops. Smoking Oyster Bar and Yucatan Beach Stand and Grill are right across the street from the motel. Both have entertainment and the Yucatan serves a nice breakfast. Room is like a little kitchenette apartment. Very clean […] and efficient. The dock behind the motel has palapas, chairs, a double glider and a swing. It's a very nice, peaceful way to wind down the day. Hotel staff was wonderful - everyone was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I missed here was being directly on the beach. But for the value, you have great accommodations close in to everything you need and Times Square and the beach are just a little over a block away. With the Island Trollee to take you up and down the island, getting around is a breeze. Given the choice of paying a higher price to stay directly on the beach and having to walk several blocks to the activity, or staying here a little off the beach at a more reasonable rate with everything handy, is just a matter of preference. I truly enjoyed my stay and loved that my room was close enough to drop in at any point in the day if i wanted. This is a very nice place to base a vacation! Read more

I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. It is in the perfect location. Everything is a two minute walk. The beach and all of the shops and restaurants are right there. I really liked the cute beachy decor of the rooms. I also liked how the motel had it's own private dock in the bback with sunchairs and BBQ grills.

As this was not our first stay in Ft. Myers, I can honestly say that I was surprised by this hotel. We passed it up on our other stays but glad we didn't this time. The pool is small, but the nice rooms and convenient location makes up for it. I would definately stay here again.

The cleanliness of the room was fine and the service everyday although a little late sometimes was fine. The pool was lovely and was maintained cleanly. However the pool patio surround area was poorly cleaned ,actually not cleaned at all in all the time we were there. . I did tell the office when we checked out . Famille de 4 personnes, nous avons séjourné 1 nuit en février 2012 dans cet hôtel. Très sympa, à 2 pas de la superbe plage de Fort Myers Beach et des animations, parking gratuit. Très pittoresque, situé près d'une petite marina, couleurs vives, palmiers, petite piscine chauffée croquignolette, le cadre est enchanteur. Ce qui l'est moins, c'est la propreté […] et la petitesse de la chambre. Pour une nuit, ça pouvait aller. C'est dommage car pour le reste, on était vraiment au paradis dans ce petit coin. Die Zimmer sind trotz der Nähe des Hotels zur Zufahrtsbrücke nach Ft. Myers Beach und des zugehörigen Piers mit abendlichemTrubel (200 m Entfernung) erstaunlich ruhig gelegen. Die beiden kleinen Pools sorgen im Gegensatz zu anderen erlebten Erfahrungen dank ihrer palmenbeschatteten Lage mal ausnahmsweise für Abkühlung im sonst schweißtreibenden Florida […] (Juli). Abends kann man sich entweder ins bunte Treiben des nahen Piers mit spektakulärem Sonnenuntergang begeben oder in der Hotelanlage ganz ruhig in eine der zahlreichen gemütlichen (wenn auch schon teilweise etwas älteren) Sitzgelegenheiten am Bootssteg mit einem Drink nieder lassen und die Tageserlebnisse von z.B. Sanibel Island/Captiva Island Revue passieren lassen. Aber es gibt auch einige wenige Kritikpunkte: So gab es im Zimmer nur im Küchenbereich Steckdosen (Rasieren am Spülbecken); die Klimaanlage war infernalisch laut, musste aber aufgrund der Schwüle nachts unbedingt laufen; die Hotelrezeption ist im hoteleigenen Souvenirshop untergebracht und so nur zwischen 08.00 - 23.00 Uhr geöffnet. Die PC-Ecke mit Internetzugang (Emails pp.) fehlt gänzlich. Es wird kein Frühstück angeboten (direkt ggü.ist aber die Yucatan-Bar, die für 6 - 9 Dollar ein gutes üppiges Frühstück anbietet. Dort kann man auch gut zu Abend essen). Fazit: Die geniale Lage des Hotels und die erfrischenden Pools machen die negativen Seiten fast wett. Einzig die laute Klimaanlage ist für geräuschempfindlichen Menschen unzumutbar und ein K.O.-Kriterium. Read more

La situation, entre mangrove et plage, la piscine le kitchenette qui nous a permis de faire de VRAIS repas en famille, les déplacement à pied en front de mer, les commerces (seven eleven) à proximité, ... bref vous l'aurez compris nous avons adoré cet hôtel.
