"Great Hotel at a great value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
Stay was excellent. Rate was one of the best I could find and the hotel is delightful. had tea in the lobby- and service was excellent. Sheets, pillows, bed and amenities were all top- notch. In walking distance to some of my favorite restaurants (and heard rave reviews on restaurant under the hotel which I will definitely check out next trip).+S
"Very pleased! A surprising find."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
Very pleased with the Y. This hotel sits in the best location in HK next to hotels costing 2 to 3 times thier price. Get the harbour view room - it's worth the extra dollars espectially for the light show each night. Breamfast uffet was an extra bonus. We will stay here next time!
"close to everything, perfect Kowloon location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
Good: large room (Nathan Grand room) for HK, location, ease of getting around, hotel that covers all the basics well. This is not the Grand Hyatt but does everything well at less than half the price. You will not find a fancy bar, or restaurant, or 5 star service, etc but if you only need a nice, efficient place, this is it. Bad: the worse part of the hotel is the restaurant service. The breakfast food quality was ok, with lots on the buffet bar but it may not appeal to everyone. Service was HK standard, where they seem to talk loud (i.e. yell) at each other when talking. Improve this area and the hotel might do even better. Oh, the freeinternet is horrendous. I would always lose the signal and have to log in over and over. Quite frustrating. Even going to the lobby require login again.
"Great location in the heart of Hong Kong night life"
The location couldn't be better to hang out at night in Lan Kwai Fong or SOHO. Also just down the street from Hollywood Road and the antique and art galleries. We bought antiques during the day and partied at night! The room was very nice with city and harbour views. Nice, cool decoration, Comfortable bed. I only downgraded the rating for maintenance […] and cleanliness becasue the door handle fell off the bathroom door and the maid forgot to replace the used fork from the fruit bowl (that was complimentary) one day ... but those are minor things. Basically very clean, which is important. The rain shower head is for midgets (I'm 192 cm, so it could work for others). The service wasn't the usual gushing Asian service I've come to expect from staying at top business hotels all over Asia, but it was nice to be in a boutque hotel that didn't remind me of business and the service efficient and not unfriendly. I'm back there my next long weekend in HK. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lan Kwai Fong"
The Lan Kwai Fong hotel is a moderately-priced gem in pricey Hong Kong. It is in a good location - felt perfectly safe walking in that neighborhood, even at night, and an easy walk to the Star Ferry and the Peak Tram. Check in was quick and efficient and room was pleasant with a fabulous view of the harbour. No problems with noise or anything and got […] a good night's rest. "Lan Kwai Fong"
Located in the heart of Hong Kong's night scene it is perfec for both business and pleasure. Not too far from the subway and shopping malls but lots of great bars and restaurants. Kind of boutique hotel and a little too expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not a 4.5 star"
Small rooms, limited dining options in the hotel. Good location. Don't pay extra money for the harbor view. Limited viewing of the harbor with other buildings blocking your view. The staff was nice enough. I would say it's a nice 3 star hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, great location"
The Lan Kwai Fong is consistently good and the location cannot be beat. Only issue is that they stint on things like bathroom products... I always bring my own.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"One of the best hotels in HK"
This hotel is very conveniently located in the LKF district, one of the best in HK for dinners and bars and nightlife. It's also very well connected to anywhere else in HK, and taxis are easy to find. Definitively recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This hotel is over-rated!"
Nothing actually wrong with the place, but nothing to write home about either. Rooms are quite small, as others have noted, and the carpet/furniture looks worn out. You have to get higher than the 25th floor, maybe much higher, to really see the water. The gym is tiny and poorly equipped, the breakfast buffet extremely expensive for what you get -- […] about $22 US for scrambled eggs that sat there for a while and a few things on the side. I travel to Hong Kong often and have paid less for much more for breakfast in other less "boutique" places. My biggest gripe was being placed first in a smoking room that was on the lowest floor that qualified for the water view (which I had paid for). I wonder if this happens to me (a woman) more often than men?? They knew I was on business and checking the hotel for the first time and yet they placed me in a really crummy room until I complained. When moved to a much less stinky room two floors higher, there was a plate of fruit there as well, waiting for what must have been a more important guest? Second biggest gripe: the internet took forever to connect. Once connected, you are fine. Anyway, in sum: nothing seriously wrong with the place, but you can do better for the price. "Will return to this hotel on my next visit"
The location is excellent, the rooms are a little small, but still very efficient. The hotel staff were not as knowledgable as expected but still very firendly and helpful. They offered shower facilities after my late checkout, but the facilities were set up for after-gym usage and were not very convinient. Over all, a good hotel, but there is room […] for improvement. "I'm Asian and I thought this was really small!"
This has got to be the smallest hotel room on the planet! I'm only 5'9" and my feet are dangling from the bed. The bath tub is closer to a bird bath in size. Its a pity because the location is fabulous and staff are friendly... I guess they have to be with the hotel size they are offering. The advertised 33sqm size probably includes the bathroom and […] parts of the hallway. The actual usable area is about 15sqm only. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good not Great"
The Hotel staff was good, but overall quality of the Hotel did not measure up to the rating. The room was very small and to add to this, they put me in a special accessibility room which was funcational but not very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"solid 3 star"
This hotel is well-situated, walkable or short taxi ride to all of central offices and to LKF/SoHo area, IFC Mall (where you can also check in for excellent airport train). It' so frustrating wen hotels make you pay for internet these days. It's such a small thing that immediately grates on every guests nerves. Hide it in the price along with your electricity […] bill and all the other incidentals! Rooms small as you've heard but actually not too bade for one person on business or a close couple. Clean which is important for me. Bed may be for the Asian dimensions. OK view. On site eating options not sure about - says Michelin starred but there are SO many good restaurants within walking distance, not a prob and for those wanting goo Western breakfast there's also a Pret (and Starbucks if you must) just down the hill. I came over from a week in Shangri-La Singapore so was naturally little crestfallen but it actually does a job. Just don't expect all the space, amenities and slick operation of the Shangri-La in this place and it's solid choice. If I had paid say USD150 and with a wife/gf, I'd be v happy. 7s week made the hotel v overpriced. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Long weekend in Hong Kong"
Space is at a premium in Hong Kong, and one guide book described the hotel as "relatively spacious." The room was small but well appointed and clean. The hotel was quiet. The Breeze lounge / restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The food was good and interesting, but the location was great. On a fourth floor outdoor terrace, you get a nice sense of space […] along with an outdoor atmosphere of Hong Kong. The hotel is near the central escalator so there is easy access to the Central MTER stration, the Central Ferry piers and the Mid-levels. There are a lot of hot evening spots within a few blocks of the hotel. If we return to Hong Kong, we would consider returning to this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel was pretty sweet... Perfect location for getting around the city and walking to a lot of stuff. The area around is pretty fun for a little nightlife on the weekends. "Nice boutique hotel in Hong Kong."
We stayed here for two nights and it was a pleasant experience. They provide free shuttle pick up from / to Hong Kong Central station. Within 10 minutes walk to the nearest MTR station, but we got lost in our first attempt because of the way the hotel is situated, I wish they had provided us with "turn-by-turn" walking direction cheat sheet to the MTR […] station. We love the beautiful oriental-styled decoration of the room, the size was comfortable enough for the two us to move around, it has big windows with beautiful view of the harbor from 30th floor. "Lan Kwai Fong Hotel - well situated in HK Central"
The Lan Kwai Fong Hotel provides a convenient and reasonably priced place to stay in Hong Kong Central District (on the island) from where it is a short walk to many places the visitor will want to explore. "You can forget about your beauty sleep"
Non-stop walking in and out of rooms, slamming doors in the corridor, all of this at 4am. Not the management's fault, but still, not cool if you have a 8am meeting where you need to be sharp. And it wasn't a bad-luck thing, I stayed there 3 nights. I was charged for minibar items that I didn't consume. When I noticed it at check-out time, they canceled […] it without arguing, a good point for them. A little pricey for the level of amenities, but I guess it has to do with the downtown location. "Great boutique hotel"
This hotel is really great for many reasons: perfect location for subways, shopping, restaurants and bars; quiet rooms; small business center for emailing; and a really nice, helpful staff. There were a few slightly negative sides to our stay, but given the positives, I would still go back. The rooms were clean, but I like my hotels REALLY clean, and […] noticed that the shower tiles in the corner could have been scrubbed or bleached a bit more. We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of May which is the start of HK's humid months and we found the room difficult to de-humidfy. We felt damp a lot of the times. Avoid the 7th Floor restaurant for breakfast - it is really expensive for what you can get elsewhere. The coffee is quite good though, but pricey. We paid extra to stay on one of the top floors (30th) with harbor views, which I think was worth it. But I'm pretty sure you can get some harbor views down lower as well. "Great location, some things could be improved"
The area is great for restaurants, bars and shopping. It's also easy to walk to Central from here. "You are paying for the great location"
Great location if familiar with Hong Kong Central area. Proximity to business district and active night life and restaurants. Rooms are tiny and no closet space - cost per sq-ft is higher than Four Seasons. Tight bathroom but very good water pressure, but amenities in the bathroom is not good - bring your own shampoo and soaps. A/C needs some help but […] air in neighborhood is just bad. Great experience. The room we stayed on 29th floor (stayed 5 days) was a little too small compared to the room on the 24th floor (stayed 3 days) we had earlier. "Great Location, Slightly Outdated Decor"
Overall, if you're going for location, this is a fantastic place to stay. It is literally 2 mins away from the Sheung Wan stop on Hong Kong Island and within walking distance to Central, Soho and LKF. Definitely very convenient. Check-in was fast and efficient with the reception staff very courtious. "Good boutique hotel for individual travellers"
The rooms are rather small but sufficiently appointed. There is a view of the harbour - at least from the upper floors.
