The place had pretty much all that we needed, plus it was close to the Redwoods which was where we were interested in going. I liked that the kids had a separate sleeping area upstairs and the kitchen was stocked with the necessities. There was also a spa pool at the back which the kids loved. If you can look past the dated decor it's a good deal.

Budget accommodation in a run down condition. The room was clean but very dated. Lots of marks on the floor and old bedding. The whole apartment smelled like sulfur (probably because of Te Puia across the road). The place really needs an upgrade. But again - the price reflects the condition of the motel. The room was clean. Quality of bedding not a good standard. Sheets good but blanket and bedspreads need upgrading. After filling Spa pool we found that the starter button was not working. Locaton was okay. The whole place is looking quite dated as we have stayed at this Motor Inn some years ago . Could do with a make-over/revamp etc.

The service at reception was terrible, we were given a key and was told what room number but not shown where and as soon as you step out of reception the door was slammed behind you, the tv was fuzzy, dripping tap in bathroom that kept you awake, couldnt block light from outside which meant it was like trying to sleep with lights on, cigarette butts […] in container outside fromt door. We had a very nice, enjoyable and comfortable stay at Gwendoline Court Motor Lodge. We've stayed in several accommodations in Rotorua in the past and this is by far one of the best. Being a pet-friendly accommodation, our little dog had the best time. We stayed at an Executive Spa Apartment which is really spacious, very clean and the spa pool was a […] big plus factor. The beddings on the upstairs bedroom was second to none. One of the best beds we have laid on. The price was very light in the pocket. Seldom one can find a fantastic accommodation at a very good price. Although it looks dated, but its a well-maintained property which is good for long stay and located in the center of Rotorua. Maria, the Propperty Host, was friendly, accommodating and very helpful. I will not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Rotorua. Units are fine although a little dated but more than comfortable if you are not looking for luxury and is usually the best budget wise around. The shower needed a real scrub as there was a build up of body scum in there. No smoke alarms in units which is a worry.

The apartment was tidy and well laid out for our needs. The Queen bed mattress had "roll together" going on which made the sleep at night not so great (and we are not a large couple). The individual Spa room was lovely.
