Situated only 5 mins (if that) walk from the Kockstrasse Underground station we found the location perfect - in a quiet enough area but very easy to get to the main sightseeing and shopping areas. There were a few restaurants and cafes in the immediate area plus some interesting shops but it was only 2 or 3 tube stops away from the main part of the Mitte district. The hotel itself was spotless and our superior room was a good size with a TV, hairdryer, free safe, bathrobes and a very very comfy bed. Would definitely stay here again and I really can't think of any negatives at all.

No air conditioning or mini bar but neither were required during our stay! The bathroom was lovely, very bright and clean with a few added extras for the forgetful traveller- toothbrushes, combs etc! We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but the dining room looked very nice. There are plenty of nice cafes etc nearby. Overall I recommend this hotel & would suggest it for anyone looking for a nice hotel that isn't overly expensive!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Winter's Hotel Berlin Mitte for 3 nights. We found it to be well located very close to Checkpont Charlie and within walking distance of the Kochstrasse U-Bahn. The transport system in Berlin is excellent and we never had to wait more that 3 minutes for a train. The Hotels appears to have been recently refurbished and well deserves it's 4 star status. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out very quick and efficient. The room was very clean with modern furnishings, comfortable beds, good quality bed-linen, duvets and towels. There was an electronic safe in the room at no extra charge. Flat screen TV with Sky News Channel. The bathroom was immaculate with full-size shower cubicle, power shower and full-powered hairdryer. Toiletries provided. We were extremely happy with our stay and would certainly stay in this hotel again.

We were only in Berlin for three days, so the location of this hotel was ideal since it was only a short walk to the main sights of Berlin. It is located just off freidrechstrasse, a main (expensive) shopping street (gucci etc), and is a 2 minute walk from checkpoint charlie. There is a restaurant located in the hotel, but we never ate at it, purely because we were out and about for the whole time of our short stay, but it looked and smelled nice when we passed. Beds were comfy, spacious and clean room. Maids were in every day, and there was a safe in the wardrobe which just required you to make up a code for it to use, no deposit or anything required. There were a couple of computers, a phone and a vending machine in the lobby. Didn't use the phone but the interent was 2 euros fr half an hour.

This hotel is really well situated for all the central Berlin attractions (eg Museum Insel, Potsdamer Platz), which you can easily reach on foot or a very short underground trip. There are some cafes and restaurants nearby. Nonetheless, the hotel itself is on a quiet, residential street. The hotel is newly decorated, fresh, clean and modern. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms could be bigger, considering this is a 4 star hotel, but they are an acceptable size nonetheless and again, fresh, well thought out, and very clean. In fact they are much nicer than they appear in the photos, especially the bathroom. I would have appreciated tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I hadn't been to Berlin before and I was very pleased with this choice.

We felt that is was centrally located and walked to most places, but if you don't like walking the u-bahn is only a 5min walk away. (Which takes another 5min to get into the main station Friedrichstrasse) Or you can walk 5min the other way and get the u-bahn 5min to the 'East Side Gallery' or 15min the other way (and a platform change) brings you to Zoo Garten. Great location for Checkpoint Charlie and the Jewish Museum.

There is a U-bahn station there and that was convenient as there is not much to do or places to eat in the immediate vicinity. A walk to Potsdamer Platz is about 15 minutes. Try to avoid the rooms that face the street as they can be a bit loud. (I slept with earplugs.) I skipped the expensive breakfast and grabbed a pastry at a bakery a couple blocks to the south.

This isn't the cheapest place to stay in Berlin (and by no means the most expensive) but for a decent mid-range hotel it's great. The location is good (about 10 minutes max down the road from Checkpoint Charlie), the rooms a good size and clean. The reception staff were excellent (As was their English). The only thing that could be held against it is that it's a conference/business hotel location so it's impersonal (apart from the service) and any extras have to be paid for, which can include breakfast. But as there are little plenty of cafes just a couple of minutes away just get breakfast from one of these instead. This is also much cheaper!

The location of this hotel is tough to beat. It is only a couple of blocks away from the Jewish Museum and the Checkpoint Charlie/Berlin Wall museum. It is a very easy walk (10 minutes) to Potsdamer Platz and all the stores and restaurants of that area. It is about a 20-25 minute walk to the Reichstag and Brandenburger Tor. From Potsdamer Platz, you can catch the U or S bahns to locations elsewhere in the city. The neighborhood where the hotel sits is fairly residential (apartment complexes) and we felt safe walking through the area even at night. The hotel staff was very good. The hotel is clean and looks to be fairly new. The décor is bright and modern. There is an excellent breakfast buffet in the on-site restaurant. The only issue that might be a problem for some people is the lack of air-conditioning. The hotel has modern radiators for heat, but I do not think our room had AC. We were there in late May and had the windows open for air during a couple of warm days. Fortunately, the windows are large and open completely and the room stayed quite comfortable. Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel and will probably use if for a return trip to Berlin. The hotel represented very good value for the money.

A tasty breakfast is served in house but not included in the room price. They offer both euro-style cold cuts and hot western style foods. Fresh fruit, juice and coffee. Some restaurants for dinner in less than 5 min walk. This hotel is centrally located in the city. The S-line station Anhalter Bahnhof is less than 10 min walk. U-line was on strike during my visit but is closer. The elevator is the size of a telephone booth but will fit luggage. Staff is helpful and friendly, speaking in German and English.
