The building and the location are good, centrally located between Yorktown and Newport News, right on Rt. 17. The service is non-existent. The only time I ever saw anyone at the front desk was when they responded to the buzzer at the. The woman who checked me in at 3 PM emerged from the back wearing pajamas! The trash can/ashtray in the front of the […] hotel piled up with trash and pizza boxes. It was a week before anyone bothered to clean it. The front doors were often locked well after midnight every night. Not good when there is never anyone at the front desk. The price was cheap, though. I don't think I would stay there agin, mostly because due to the lack of security. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Days Inn Yorktown"
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. This was our second time and we somehow got the same room. The best thing was the price of our stay this time. We are on a fixed income and the reduced price was a great help to us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Bargain in Yorktown"
Wonderful hotel for the price. My room and bath were very clean, although the hotel itself is a little run-down looking in the corridors. The desk staff was efficient and nice. The free breakfast is nothing much but you are on a busy highway and so very near Starbucks and IHOP as well as other eateries. I would say this is a great value for the mon […] ey! Convenient to historic Yorktown, Patrick Henry Mall and other shopping locations. Didn't have much of a continental breakfast, but was very pet friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a Bad Deal"
The hotel is located in a quiet part of York County with easy access to NN, Hampton, and I-64. Not all rooms in the hotel are created equal but this one was great for the price! Wireless internet was a little flaky at times, but definitely recommend this hotel for business travel and couples on the road.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Okay, better then surrounding hotels."
The hotel was Okay. The third floor smelled like smoke which was bad also my hotel room kinda smelled like kitty litter when i went into the room. Overall the hotel room was liveable and deffinetly looked the best out of the sourrounding hotel options. the breakfast bar was cerel and honeybun cakes, coffee, and juice. I'll stay there again if i visit […] norfolk news again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

the hotel room I reserved last week had roaches. would not stay there again .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was not equiped with anything! The continental breakfest included plastic hard bagels and a choice of 3 cereals...! Had trouble connecting to the wifi, couldnt make any long distance or international calls... The room numbers are scattered on the floor instead of nailed on the door, multiple times I tried getting service from the front desk and […] no one was there to help me... I really did not enjoy this hotel one bit. I dont recommend it to anyone with even the lowest of standarts! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best place to be for the money."

This hotel has really surprised me. I'm here to watch my girlfriend graduate from a Coast Guard specialty school in yorktown and I arrived a few hours early on Sunday as I'm staying for 5 days. They were able to get me in early no problem. The room upstairs was a little smokey, but after I told them so, I got transferred to a room that exceeded my expectations. Tons of room, no smell, big bathroom, and the breakfast in the morning was awesome. The best part is the staff, during my stay here they were more than willing to help with anything I needed. I noticed they are putting new carpeting in all the rooms from the top down. I'm in the military 8yrs, and for the price this place can't be beat by a long shot. The new management has been and will only make it much better. I can't recommend this place enough. -Cheers Rick

The Gm allowed us to check in early. We needed to beat the storm. Danny the maintenance man assisted me with my bags. The attendant at breakfast was very friendly (Melissa). Food was warm. Everyone was warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend

Second time saying here! The GM Judy is amazing! First one I stayed the hotel was smoking and non smoking on the second trip the hotel was only non smoking!!! Management was awesome! They are working with the military to get a set rate all year round! This place is making great strides and as I frequent the area this will be my hotel of choice!! Come check it out for yourself you won't be disappointed! Oh yea the water temp and food are great as well!
"ASK FOR JUDY"

I had the worst day, my car broke down my son had a bad asthma attack and we were caught tin the rain! I had googled a close hotel and found comfort inn I had spoken to the GM Judy and told her we were stuck a few miles north and she sent a staff member to pick us up!! I had told her my son was sick and when we arrived she had the room ready and the heat on to warm him up! she even offered to take me to the ER if he did not get better!! it was 10pm when I arrived and when I woke up the GM was right in the dinning area greeting the guest and bighting up the start of every body's day!! you rarely see management involved or even present so early in the A.M hours!! Check in was done in 3 mins !! breakfast was awesome!! and the whole staff from management to the front desk and house keeping was awesome! this team rocks and I hope that this small hotel becomes the heart of Yorktown!! ask for JUDY! SHE WONT DISSAPPOINT YOU!
"Motel was as good, or better, than any other in the area.........."
03/03/14 Jack W Fredericksburg, Virginia
In spite of reading a number of bad reviews of this motel, my wife and I decided to stay there for four nights during February 2014. We were both very satisfied with our choice!!! The staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The room and its contents were clean and well-maintained. I don't doubt the veracity of the bad reviews, but the motel now has new management and not one of the complaints in the bad reviews is now applicable. This is truly a desirable and economical place to stay if you are visiting the Norfolk/Virginia Beach/Hampton/Newport News area.
"DAYS INN SUCKS"
06/16/13 jamz4life BELLEVILLE
Well this review is a overall screw job by Days inn. Had made reservations in Yorktown Va at the Days inn a month ahead of my trip and made the reservation through their website. Well when I get there its no longer a Days inn its another hotel chain. Well talking to the hotel manager and getting me in touch with Days inn customer care they could not find my reservation and no one ever emailed me or called me to tell me. Days inn was not helpful and said they have not had a hotel there since the beginning of the year. If so why was I able to book it then. I had to go to another hotel and cost me an extra 100. Never will I do Days inn and will never recommend them to anyone.
"Very nice hotel"

Now, they are doing MINOR rennovation work, so expect to see the room numbers sitting on the floor next to the doors, and the sign outside is covered up at the moment, but I have stayed here on numerous occasions and every time has been wonderful. The staff is quite friendly, even going so far as to tell me "use my name when you order your pizza and they'll give you 20% off the bill". Its a family run business, so if you enter and nobody is at the counter just hang for a minute, they'll be along and they'll be friendly. Always clean rooms, well decorated and maintained. This place is great. Don't pass it up just because the sign out front is being worked on. Puts you close to many restaraunts and within 10 minutes of the interstate. Try it, youll like it!
"Cheap place to stay"
04/06/13 anonymousisfine Columbus, Ohio
We arrived a little early and the general manager, Rho Patel, greeted us. He was friendly, the lobby was clean, and nice decor. We were checked in quickly. The only issue I had was the "housekeeper" a female, was not so nice. When we asked for more towels she yelled at us in another language. This hotel offers continental breakfast, but it was literally, snack brand donuts (individually wrapped) twinkies, bagels (no cream cheese) and cereal. Overall the GM was the only friendly face we encountered. The other staff not so much. This hotel is fine for bear minimum stays and basics. Great value. Don't expect much more than just a place to rest and a quick breakfast. It is very pet friendly.
"Under renovation Decemeber 2012"
01/01/13 geoniff Detroit Metro, MI
Renovations are great, but...there was a lot of construction dust in the bed, on the carpet, etc. The bed spread was turned back and I noticed construction dust there before climbing in bed. The new mirror had fingerprints on it. The construction dumpster was emptied early one morning which was a rude awakening. Most of the furnishings in the room are new, but the mattress, pillows and bedding were not new. The sheets and towels had stains. We stayed in this hotel during the week of Christmas and it was very quiet, probably due to the lack of guests. We had a shortage of hot water in the shower the first morning but didn't experience this problem again during the week. The water pressure in the shower was much lower than we prefer. There was the option of continental breakfast in the lobby but we did not take advantage of this. The lobby was often empty and unattended. There was an odor of curry or asian food every day. We had difficulty getting the correct remote control for the television, which was the old-fashioned tube style. The location was very convenient to the family's home we were sharing Christmas with, unfortunately, we drew the short straw for accommodations there! Several restaurants (IHOP, Sonic, BBQ), coffee shops (Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme to open soon) and other stores (Walmart, CVS, grocery) were very close to the hotel. Next time, we will opt for the floor or couch at our family's home, or another hotel before we stay at Days Inn.

My mother has been very ill, terminal with COPD and lung cancer. i plannd a christmas visit with her but aquired a severe sore throat and sinus problem and could not go because she has no immune system. I called the day of traveling and told the girl i understood that I would forfeit my first night as I was not giving 24 hours notice. She said she tried to contact the manger for me as to the other 3 days since there was a 24 + hour notice on those days. He was not there. She said she made a note on her document and he would have to respond to me before the 2nd. I also calle the day after Christmas, on the 26th and again on the 27th. I left no message but the manager was still not around. He has YET to call me and I will be refuting the charges. i gave ample notice for my remaining reservation days and no one has contacted me as to this incident. i didn't ASK to get sick, I didn't ASK to have a lousy Christmas home alone and miss possibly spending the last Christmas with my mother and i certainly didn't ask for such a coldhearted purely in it for money attitude of a manager who refuses to contact me back. I will NEVER recommend this hotl to my friends and people i come into contact with and will make this WELL known to all with whom I have contact with via my blogs and FB. Crappy service.
