For the price I paid the room was not too bad. It could have been a little cleaner. The first room I was given smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non-smoking section. I guess since it is on the first floor when people smoke outside the smelled comes in the room. But I got a different room with no problem.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the floor had laminate flooring instead of carpets which all added to a great night's sleep. The motel is near Delmonico's steakhouse for dinner and a mile or so from Gateway Diner for breakfast. All on the same street and easy to get into downtown.

I stayed for one night and inside the rooms are quite nice. The bathrooms still need to be updated to match the rest of the room which is very nice. The outside is quite dated with that old fashioned motel look. For the price you pay you get a very nice room with pretty good beds, room is good size and a nice led tv. there was a sign on door that stated " help wanted for cleaning service". my room was nice and comfortable, I found staff to also be professional. however, my room floor was very dirty and needed mopping and someone’s used bar of soap was left in shower. Hotel needs better cleaning service.

First room we were given, the door was already open (because it wouldn't latch close) and the toilet was used and full. Second room had no heat on when we arrived (in January!), barren floors without any rugs that were so cold, they hurt your feet, and no extra blankets. When I booked the room, it said that there were hair dryers at the front desk. […] When I went in to ask for one, I was told "Motel 6 doesn't ever have hairdryers". After driving for 16 hour in freesing rain and snow from asheville nc to albany ny I arrived at this motel 6 weary from my travels. Although I specifically requested a non-smoking room, the room smelled awful of clorox used to mask the smell of smoke. Also, we had 3 adults in the room and only towels for two. Disappointing given that the room was otherwise ok.

At check-in I was told there was a $25 pet fee per pet and that there would be additional fees for excessive pet hair. The vibe was not at all pet friendly. I was so put off by this that I could not sleep well. I called the motel 6 help line only to find out the hotel policy is pets always stay free. In the morning I informed the same front desk staff […] (apparently the franchise owners) that I would like a refund of my $25. They refused until I told them I had a case number with motel 6, who assured me I would be contacted regarding the refund, and that they would likely lose their franchise if they aren't abiding by company policy. The gentleman that checked me in was rude and short. He gave me grief for "supposedly" only booking for one person which I followed with saying I chose two people for the occupancy on hotels.com. The rooms were remodeled and is fairly modern. However, the floors are filthy. The shower was mediocre. I didn't like touching much in there if possible.

Over the summer we happened to stay at a Motel 6 when travelling through Ohio and had liked the renovations made there (and nationally, apparently). The carpets had been replaced w/ a faux bamboo linoleum, the electronics were streamlined on the wall and the furniture was both attractive and minimalist – no more accidentally losing small possessions […] in a “busy”/cluttered hotel room. The new design lends itself to ease of maintenance and consequently a cleaner room in general. The mattress, too, was very comfortable. Based on this happy experience, when we needed somewhere to overnight in the Albany area, we by-passed less expensive (slightly) hotels to try another Motel 6. Glad we did. There were one or two minor areas where the cleaning wasn’t quite up to that of our Ohio stay but still much cleaner and more comfortable than comparable hotels. They must buy their mattresses in bulk because this one was every bit as comfortable as that previously experienced. Parking was fine, the staff was pleasant, there were plenty of dining options nearby, and it was very convenient to major highways; after a good night’s sleep, we were quickly on our way. Know, though, that this Motel 6 is on a main drag in a built up, older commercial area so don’t expect neighborhood ambience - just a good night’s rest in a comfortable, convenient and economical motel. It is very noise at this hotel. You can hear everything going on in other rooms. It kept us up all night becasue the person above us kept running there shower. The lights outside are sooooo bright it keeps your room lite up all night. Makes it hard to sleep.

Okay you looking for a cheap room, for a great price, well then you have found it. These rooms were just redone, so they are very modern, the bathrooms are still old looking. Make sure you don't lie about how many people are in the room, as we put 2 people, and we had two people. They left us 2 towels, 2 wash cloths, 2 hand towels. This was problematic […] for my wife as she likes an extra towel for her hair. I was surprisingly shocked to see housekeeping gave us a new bar of soap every day. You don't always get that at Hilton's and Marriotts. The wifi is pointless, and by the way worthless. Can't get connected, then when you do it drops immediately. Overall if you need a place to put your head for a couple of nights, you have found your cheap place. Read more

i booked this hotel because of pictures of the new decor and room description..i got the king bed i asked for but the hair dryer and other amenities listed were absent..the sink also had no plug so if you wanted to sponge bathe you were out of luck..this is something the management has done throughout the facility..the light colored linoleum floors […] show every imperfection so it was easy to note the boot prints around the sink and the bunch of body hair and ??????under the bed..apparently the floor had not been mopped or vacuumed..the outside walks had debris here and there from the renovations and i was housed along with the workers at the far end of facility..i was put off by the individual(s) that hung out near my room for several hours as the lock did not work on my door unless you muscled it into place with a great deal of effort..i had to replace 2 pillow cases that were very thin and soiled..clean ones were delivered immediately..there was residue of cement and sealer around the sink that was not cleaned up..on the positive side the room had a new large tv and the bed was comfortable..but that was it...i will not stay here again as i was not treated as a guest and the room did not have the amenities and cleanliness i expected...certainly not worth the price i paid,though others may disagree..
