Great location. Our hotel room looked out over the bullring . We had a small yet comfortable room with two twin beds side by side and a balcony. From the roof-top of the hotel we could see most of the famous sites of Malaga (Alcazaba, cathedral, port, beach, bullring, Paseo del Parque) and that helped us really get a feel for the place and plan our […] days. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Malaga for the first time.The cafe downstairs was very handy for the American who won't give up their breakfast routine. I bugged the staff several times with questions about store hours, stamp prices, bus routes, and they were very helpful.The oddest thing about the experience seems to be the intense disinfectant that was sprayed each time they cleaned our room. It was so potent that we needed to air out our room after every cleaning, which meant opening our balcony doors to the gorgeous Malaga weather. Read more

Good value. Well located. You will be 15 minutes away from thje old Màlaga. It will cost 23 Euro from the airport by taxi. You DO NOT need a car in Màlaga. The train station ( 19 min. walk from the hotel ) where Avis and many others can offer good deals. I saved 160 $ by shopping locally even if i did a booking before with budget.

Room was small but very nice. It is located in a great area and one can walk to the downtown area. The breakfast was delicious and worth the money. The staff were very helpful. Only suggestion would be to have a patio chair and table on the balcony. I would definitely stay here again.

The Maestranza is on the Avenue Canovas del Castillo #1 at the far end of the central park which was well manicured and stunningly beautiful. From the Airport take the express bus A. It makes one stop at the central bus station and then continues on to the end of the park. The hotel is just across the street and adjacent to a bakery on the corner. The […] bus will cost 2 euro per person compared to 18 euro for a cab, it only takes 20 minutes and allows you to see some of the old city along the way. The check-in was very efficient at 11:15 in the morning and my room was ready. I had room 509 which faced the Avenue. The view from the balcony to the left was the Mediterranean just two blocks away. To the right was the central park and the Alcazaba Castle which was a postcard perfect view. So much of the old city is within a 10 minute walk. My room had a double bed (very comfortable), desk and small but lovely bathroom. One drawback was that there were only 2 English speaking TV channels, BBC News and CNN. The room had no coffee/tea maker so that was a negative but it did have a mini-bar. There is a well stocked convenience store across the street .The breakfast buffet that was included in the hotel price was extensive and quite good. You won’t be disappointed in the variety of hot and cold selections and wide array of fresh fruits including a warm chocolate fountain for dipping. The front desk was very helpful, spoke good English and delivered on what they promised. Read more

We went on September 2-5. I read reviews on tripadvisor and the reviews were great and the deal on expedia was also. So we decided on this hotel. ALL rooms have balconies either facing the water, city, or bull fighting ring. We were on the 2nd floor facing the bull fighting ring! So cool! It probably would've been nicer to be higher up but that's ok. […] The roof of the hotel has an amazing panoramic view of the city! AND a hot tub, sauna, and lounge chairs! It doesn't have a pool but why do you need one if you have the Mediterranean only a 10 minute walk away! We did not get the breakfast at the hotel..instead we went to the french bakery right next door! Great coffee and great chocolate crossaints! The staff even recommended a great beach only 10 minute cab ride away that was more quiet, restaurants, beach chairs, and great for snorkeling! The MS Maestranza rises high above the tree-lined Alameda that will take you on an enchanted pathway to the exclusive shops of Avenida Larios or down to the Port of Malaga. It is easy to spot from the busstop of the 'A' line that provides direct service to and from the Malaga International Airport for just 2 Euros. The hotel itself faces several nightclubs […] and the surrounding streets are filled with tabernas and restaurants appropriate for multicourse dining or just a few tapas. The gelateria Travestere, adjacent to the excellent Italian restaurant of the same name, is right across the street. Directly opposite the hotel is an OpenCor, a mini-supermarket open until 2:00 a.m. The top floor (attic, they call it) of the hotel has a well-equipped and clean fitness room with an amazing view. However, the July heat pouring in through the wide glass windowpanes made working out an unappealing option this time around. There is a wide sunbathing deck with a large jacuzzi on the roof with magnificent views of the Alcazaba and the bullring. The day we were there several youngsters, including a girl, were down in the arena attending "bullfighting school." There is free internet access on the mezzanine level and a very nice cocktail bar/restaurant there as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. It is a comfortable walking distance to both the sandy swimming beaches to the east, and the port/shopping district to the west. Enjoy the nearby chiringuitos for some calamari! Read more

It was a very nice stay for my wife and me. We had a standard room with a double bed. The hotel is 150 meters from the beach and 350 meters from city center. Very good service from the staff. The one thing we didnt like was the beds, they were to hard. Overall a very good hotel I would recommend to my friends.

Very comfortable stay in the Hotel MS Maestranza. The hotel is in a very good location with everything within 10 minutes walk. Rooms were very clean and included all the mod cons etc. The only down point is the busy road/junction right in front however we would be very happy to stay again on another visit.

The room we had was at rear and overlooked the Bullring. Was quiet, as rooms at front were on a very busy road and there could possibly be problems wih traffic noise. Room was quite large with good sized twin beds and reasonably sized wardrobe and was very clean, as was bathroom. As i was taking a group of 15 to the hotel I had been corresponding with them for restaurant recommendations etc. They were always helpful and prompt with their replies and booked a couple of restaurants before we arrived in Malaga. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and relatively modern in decor. We did not eat in the hotel so can not comment on the food. This hotel was fantastic - Take bus A from airport for 2 Eu and get off at last stop, near the fountain. Hotel is on the fountain roundabout, right next to bull ring, so it's easy to find. There is a great cafe bakery next door on the corner, a supermarket opposite, taxis on corner, bus stop 5 mins walk, beach 5 mins walk, old part of town and cathedral […] 15 mins walk along a relaxing treelined boulevarde, 5 mins to the start of the walk up to the old castillo ruins, 5 mins walk to the port restaurants. Some restaurants are nearby, however we enjoyed the atmosphere of the old part of town in the vicinity of the cathedral. The breakfast room is stylish and has lounge chairs for guests. We didn't buy the hotel breakfast but used the cafe downstairs. The staff helped us with hiring a car and bicycles using Larios rental co. Car parking was Eu 15.00 per night and our bikes were stored under the stairs in the foyer for free. Highly recommend hiring bicycles and riding around town and up the coast a bit to better beaches and cute restaurants. Room and bathroom were large, desk, small table and chairs, balcony with view to cathedral and ocean, TV, fridge, wardrobe. Sauna, spa, gym and terrace on roof. Good value! Read more
