Kalyves Beach Hotel - Armeni

This hotel was incredible. The staff was amazingly helpful and always with a smile. The food was delightful. The rooms very clean. The location was perfect. Kalyves is the perfect authentic crete village. Perfect for the whole family and lots to do and learn. Highly recommend it.

Were on half-board but stopped eating there after 1 day, as food choice and quality was terrrible. Most guests, including us, end up eating out every evening. Basically, the management was doing food on the cheap and hope to get away with it! 1 star hotel in our judgment. Another curiosity: hotel guests are mainly Scandinavians. No comparison to […] a hotel in Cyprus (went there in April), where we simply could not stop eating the mind boggling variety of food on offer! However, we visited and loved all the beaches in Crete. Also the drives through tortuous mountain roads and tiny villages were a real challenge (forget the Alps). Read more

We’ve stayed at the hotel a number of times. With children and now as people looking for a more relaxed holiday. The hotel really caters for children and has a play area and two pools with shade! Worst point for me was the bathroom which was clean and well looked after, however the shower area is very small. If you can get past that, and many people […] do, the rest of the hotel is great. The hotel staff are professional and helpful. In particular Penelope on the main desk really helped make our stay easier, Thank you! The food was plentiful and had the quality of what I expect and look forward to in traditional Greek cooking. The cook catered successfully for fairly large numbers of people from different nationalities and always had a smile on her face. The hotel is next to the beach with easy access and provides free sun beds and umbrellas which is a real saving as the little additions can soon add to the cost. The town is small and quiet. A few tavernas and useful local shops. Easy access to the town Xania reached by the local bus (limited times a day) or by heading to the national road and stopping one of the many busses that pass. Rythmnon is reached the same way but head east.It sounds challenging but it is relatively easy. It is a kilometre walk to the road though. We have been coming to Greece since the mid 70’s (worked in Athens for three years). There are only a few places we revisit and we have been here a number of times! Which says it all really. Dette er det verste hotellet jeg har bodd på .Langt fra ett 4 stjerne hotell. Små stygge rom som lukter. Veldig små bad som er full i myggsopp og råte. Dritsur betjening. Det eineste positive med dette oppholdet var stranden. Styr unna dette hotellet.

disposant de plusieur piscine de petites taille le cadre est relativement agréable, toutefois cet hotel pêche beaucoup sur la qualité de ses prestations : Internet quasi inaccessible dans la chambre, et dans le cas contraire tres lent pour 25€ la semaine ou 10€ les 4h (un jour ils penserons a passer au 811n ou au cable..) une salle de sport mal placé […] mal equipée. le placement surtout ne donne pas envie. et enfin un sauna (la raison de mon choix pour cet hotel...) qui n'est pas utilisé car des frais de 25 euros de l'heure ! doivent etre rajoutés. Die Lage und Ausstattung des Hotels sind ok. Der Service läßt zu wünschen übrig. Wir haben z. B. am ersten Tag einen zusätzlichen Stuhl für den Balkon bestellt und haben ihn nie bekommen. Das Hotel liegt am Meer, aber längsseitig und deshalb verfügt es über wenig Zimmer, die zum Meer zeigen. Die Zimmer sind sehr unterschiedlich groß bei gleicher Bezeichnung. Z.B. kann man als Doppelzimmer ein sehr kleines bekommen, während es auch sehr große gäbe. Unser Badezimmer war sehr klein und ohne Fenster. Die Duschecke war z.T. verschimmelt. […] Frühstück war akzeptabel, das Abendessen war Büffet, das keine hohen Ansprüche erfüllen konnte. Die Rezeption war freundlich und bemüht. Parkplätze waren sehr wenige vorhanden. Es gab gute Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im nahen Umfeld vom Hotel. WIFI war mit € 4.- pro Stunde (im Mai 2010) extrem teuer.
