good location. it's a 15 minute walk from Praça Dom Pedro IV a bit shabby lobby so I expected a shabby room, but it was actually good, clean and modern. the hotel has no restaurant. I didn't mind but it might be a useful piece of information for people with kids.

Prostitutes use the corner across from the hotel to solicit customers. The building across from the hotel has something to do with the sex trade; red lights poured out of many open windows in the dilapidated high-rise building. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and spacious with courteous staff, but I imagine quite a few of those prostitutes […] and johns probably used those beds before and after me. The location is sub-par. It is at least a 7 minute walk to Avenida de Liberdade, and another 15 minutes to Rossio. There are similarly priced hotels much closer to Avenida, let alone the major destinations. Aside from the prostitutes, the neighborhood isn't bad. I never saw one of the many junkies that inhabit Lisbon on nearby streets. There are many good local restaurants in the area. A nearby university and a center for the blind give the area a bit of an academic feel My girlfriend and I never felt unsafe anywhere near the hotel, which is something we cannot say about the many hotels in Baixa, where we saw people mugged and junkies assaulting old European tourists and running away with their purses. Hotel Vip is within 10 minutes walking distance of Rossi Square, has 2 nearby coffee bars and a Supermarket, literally yards away. Should you wish to eat to remember, book the Gambrinus for lunch at, say, 12:30 in the afternoon and enjoy a couple of hours of style, good manners and fabulous food - I went for the Spit Fish - essentially fish on a kebab with a side salad. Sehr freundliches Personal, saubere Zimmer, Leckeres aber einfaches Frühstück für 8,50€, Internet 10€ für 24h (die man in mehrere Sesssions aufteilen kann) ist in Ordnung und hat für 3 Tage locker gereicht. Man geht ca. fünf Minuten zum Hauptplatz, an denen alle Busse weggehen und die Metro ist auch diesem Platz. Zimmer wurden jeden Tag gereinigt und war sehr sauber. Das Bad wurde auch jeden Tag geputzt, leider war es ein wenig veraltet und die Fugen in den Fließen teilweise schon braun.

Das Hotel befindet sich ca. 5 bis 10 Minuten entfernt von der Metrostation "Marquis de Pombal", zu Fuß läuft man ca 30 Minuten in die Innenstadt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und sprach sehr gut Englisch; das verstopfte Waschbecken und der kaputte Föhn wurden umgehend repariert / ausgetauscht. Das Bad hatte seine besten Zeiten hinter […] sich, war aber sauber. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 1. Stock zur Straße, die auch nachts sehr laut ist; zum Schlafen waren leider Oropax nötig. Wie es in anderen Zimmern ist, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Tip: Frühstücken sollte man besser in einem kleinen Café (Nicola) auf der anderen Straßenseite; dort ist es deutlich günstiger als im Hotel. Tip 2:Auf dem Hinweg vom Flughafen wurden wir vom Taxifahrer übers Ohr gehauen, der uns 24 Euro abgeknöpft hat. Bei einem solchen Fall nicht bezahlen, sondern an der Rezeption zur Vermittlung melden! (Der Rückweg hat gerade einmal 10 Euro gekostet...) Alles in allem war es für den Preis ein sehr schöner Städteurlaub, vor allem, wenn man sich im Prinzip kaum im Zimmer / Hotel aufhält! While the immediate surroundings were not of great interest, the hotel itself is in a very practical area. The city center is just a 20 minute walk away, and metro stops are less than 10 minutes away. The hotel itself is just fine; clean, not noisy, comfortable sized rooms. The outside facade is rather unattractive but that is of little importance.

Sauber.Nettes sehr bemühtes Personal, tolles preiswertes Frühstück. Die direkte Umgebung hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, dafür liegt das Hotel jedoch sehr Zentral.(Taxi zum Zentrum 5 bis 8 Euro-je nach Fahrstil) Wir haben uns seeehr wohl gefühlt!

L'Hotel si trova vicino a mezzi pubblici. Pulito, ordinato e con personale gentile. Le uniche due cose da segnalare sono: manca la doccia e non tutte le camere hanno il minibar.
