For the price paid this hotel is totally worth the money. Free breakfast and no resort fees! Location right on fremont. Hotel staff were very nice compared to some higher priced hotels. Front desk was friendly at check in. Valet guys were nice. Breakfast was awesome. Room was a little dated and tired but for the rate paid it was clean, quiet and safe.

This area has more lodging variety than The Strip. East of the Strip features both gaming and non-gaming properties that range from budget to luxury accommodations. Key attractions here include the Las Vegas Convention Center, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the McCarran International Airport, several office parks, and the Restaurant Row along Flamingo and Paradise roads.

"PARTYING WITH THE LADIES"
I was there with 6 of my friends for a fun filled week. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. This hotel is very close to the strip, right across from MGM maybe a 5 min walk. We were able to check in early and check out late. There is a dinner near there called Co Co's and they had really good food for low prices. The rooms were nice and […] fully stocked, heated pool, FREE breakfast but just the basic, Free WINE and BEER but it was limited. Overall very nice, would stay again, again... Read more
"Perfect Anti-Casino hotel for families!"
On a long road trip we wanted to stop in Vegas due to its location, not the casinos. With a young family of 5, we didn't want the smoke, crowds, or inappropriate visuals of the Strip to ruin our evening. We chose the Desert Rose Resort and could NOT have been happier! The rooms were so large, very well appointed, tastefully decorated, clean, and I can […] imagine a longer stay would have been even better using the full kitchen in our room. The morning's breakfast buffet had everything I could have wanted in a breakfast - eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, breads, cereals, coffees, juices, yogurt, granola, you name it. There was ample seating (especially compared to other "complimentary breakfast" hotels we've stayed at before). Weekday You're within a short walk (maybe 1/2 mile) to Mandalay Bay at the south end of the Strip. I'd strongly recommend this hotel if you want to stay near the action, but have a restful night sleep and a peaceful breakfast. We were very pleased with the staff, though we didn't need anything beyond basic check-in and check-out. The pool looked clean and enjoyable, but we didn't have time to swim. We will definitely return when we stop in Vegas next time! Read more
"Desert Rose Resort, Las Vegas - Clean and Quiet"
My husband and I were very pleased with the Desert Rose Resort. We are not gamblers and wanted a quiet place to stay that was away from the loud casino noises. Even though we weren't directly on the strip our tour bus for the Grand Canyon picked us up right in front of the resort. The room was clean and very comfortable. It was a short walk to the main […] strip. They offered a free continental breakfast, but it wasn't the best. We would difinitely stay at the Desert Rose again. Read more

"Desert Rose - Close and Comfortable"
We spent Spring Break in Las Vegas to visit with my parents, not to gamble but to view the diferent casinos and take in some shows. The Desert Rose is remarkably convenient to the Strip, just down from the MGM Grand. Very cozy digs, wonderful free breakfast and happy hour. A good place to retreat to between day and night to recharge. My only complaints […] are that the fitness room doesn't have a weight training machine, and the fold out bed (we had a two bedroom unit) for our son was essentially unusable because the mattress was thin and the frame interfered with sleep. There is free wifi that is a little slow, and the pool was nice. Read more

"Desert Rose Condo Hotel - Nice alternative"
We just returned from 4 days in Las Vegas and stayed at the Desert Rose in a 2 bedroom condo with our 2 teenage daughters. It was a good, affordable alternative to the casino hotels. Fairly close to the southern end of the Strip, but still a good walk to the corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd. Looks closer on the map than it is as the blocks in […] LV and about double the length in most cities. The condo was clean and provided plenty of the room for everyone. Only real complaints were 1) no extra roll of toilet paper in the condo and 2) the breakfast buffet is a zoo with too many people for too few places to sit and eat. We ended up sitting by the pool one chilly morning and took it back to our room on another (no trays or easy way to carry enough for 4). Overall, a great choice if you want to be away from the hustle and crowds of the casinos, but be prepared for some lengthy walks. Read more
"Great Place to Stay"

"Desert Rose Resort in Las Vegas"
We decided on the Desert Rose Hotel after searching MANY different Las Vegas hotel reviews. Our desire was to be close to the strip but in a quite/safe location. The hotel exceeded our expectations...the rooms are spacious, modern and clean and is located within a reasonable walking distance to the strip. The hotel staff is amazing, especially the staff […] attending to the breakfast are, they were most helpful and pleasant. The breakfast consisted of eggs, meat, potatos, fruit, yogurt, cereal etc. and the evening reception is a nice feature if you are at the hotel during this time. We will definately stay here in the future! Read more

"Desert Rose Resort: perfect Vegas getaway!"
Our family went to Vegas for a sports competition, and ended up switching to the Desert Rose after our first accommodations were not up to par. We weren't looking for Vegas nightlife on our trip so the Desert Rose Resort was a perfect find for our family. It is close to the strip for easy sightseeing, but the hotel itself does not have a casino, and […] feels a long way from the busyness of Vegas entertainment. I recommend this hotel because it is quiet and family friendly... two things very difficult to find in Vegas! Read more
"Quiet hotel just off the strip"
Overall this hotel was fantastic if you need to be close to the strip but don't want to be on the strip. The hotel was non-smoking except on the balconies and outside and fairly quiet. Staff was friendly and courteous. Breakfast could have used a little variety but it was nice not to have to find breakfast on the strip. Parking was easy and free. If […] the need to come back to Vegas arises, I would definitely select the Desert Rose again. Read more
"NEAR LAS VEGAS STRIP"
I really like this place, within walking distance to the Las Vegas strip. Rooms are quite large with full amenities, and the included breakfast is great.
"Save big just off the strip"
Friendly staff. Clean room. Great rate. Off the strip but walking distance to the South Strip hotels.

"Very nice family friendly hotel."
The hotel is a block off the strip. This hotel is very family friendly. There is a free breakfast every morning. Get there early because it gets crowded. The rooms were nice sized and the was even a walk in closet.

"Desert Rose Resort, Las Vegas"
Don't feel bad if you must budget, Desert Rose Resort will take care of you; your breakfast and start up drinks at the Manager's Reception. You'll be able to spend more on your visit to LV. Desk refer our room, better then previous stay. Well stay again for next WNFR. No casino hotels for me.
"Desert Rose hotel comfortable quiet close to strip"
It is located just off the Las Vegas Boulevard, and outdoor parking, many entrances, motel style. Rooms view parking or courtyard. Kitchen has everything one would need including utensils and place settings for 6 people. Comfortable clean queen sized bed and pillows. Two TV's in the one bedroom suite, no dvd player. In suite safe with electronic lock […] not large enough for most laptops. Great choice for comfortable quiet stay, yet close enough to the strip and casinos, withing walking distance. They allow luggage to be kept in a locked area free of charge for a week, to be picked up when returning from another trip. Very pleasant front desk staff. WiFi speed decent, complimentary. Read more
"Great family resort"
Nice resort that caters to families. Close to strip but no casino in hotel (great!)
"Las Vegas Desert Rose"

"Quiet kitchenette near the strip"
We thoroughly enjoyed the Desert Rose. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We could eat out or in as we chose to. The location was a short walking distance to the strip near MGM. The kitchen was thoroughly stocked with just about anything you would need. The pool area was clean and the pool was warm. There […] was even a very nice bar-b-q area near the pool. The concierge was extremely helpful with transportation and entertainment suggestions. Read more
"Nice stay in Las Vegas"
When you want to stay in a quiet place outside the strip, this is a good choice. I wish they only had a bigger place to breakfast. It is always crowded.
"NICE STAY"
I was down there with my family for a business conference and an extended stay afterwards. I read all the negative reviews about credit card identity theft issues. I paid with Hotels.com and when arriving I gave them a $100 dollar deposit instead of my credit card. There was no issue with this at all. The hotel was clean and located very close to the […] strip. Nice breakfast and pool and hottub were great. Only hotel negative was walls to outside a little thin so when someone walks by in the middle of the night you can hear them talking. Would recommend and will stay there again in the future. Read more
"desert rose"
Good hotel and location, everything was good except the breakfast it was not much variety.
"Great hotel for the whole family"
This is our second time staying at the Desert Rose and it was excellent 4 day stay. We are three families getting together and they accomodated us with rooms close together. The furnishing are a little shop worn compared to our last stay - but nothing really off putting. The staff is super friendly and unfailingly polite. If you like quiet and comfortable […] and want to escape from the craziness of the strip Desert Rose is for you. Read more
Stayed for 3 days...and it was wonderful! Staff was very nice and helpful! If i come back to Vegas I would stay here without a doubt.
"Great place"
Right behind the Topicanna, this hotel is in an ideal location esp if you have a card. We loved the breakfast, the grounds, the room set up, everything.
Very nice hotel for a family wanting a nice hotel close to the strip (walkable). I would recommend upgrading TV's. But a nice stay
"Various"
Extremely convenient as far as location-accomodations were super, roomy and well kept' Coctail reception left a bit to be desired, overall a good experience.

"Nice hotel close to strip"
Room was recently remodeled. Pool area was nice. Decent breakfast. Only 2 blocks from the strip. If you want to ride the bus, only 1 block from a bus stop where you can buy day passes for cheaper than on the strip. Internet was slow.
"DESERT ROSE RESORT LAS VEGAS"
THIS ALL CONDO RESORT WAS THE BEST VALUE IN VEGAS. A FULL BREAKFAST CAME WITH THE CONDO EVERY MORNING. WE JUST CROSSED A PARKING LOT TO GET TO THE MGM GRAND AND THE STRIP, HOW CONVIENT TO EVERYTHING.A FREE MANAGERS RECEPTING M-T(BEER,WINE,SODA AND PRETZELS)WE WILL BE BACK!
"Great location"
We stayed here for three days. Its a short walk up to the strip, and you can catch the Deuce bus that runs along the strip. You can get off and on for one price. Check out the price on the front of the bus, or check with the concierge, who is GREAT Cheri. Very helpful staff.
"Exceeded our expectations!"
We stayed here for a conference with our 1-year old child and had a wonderful time. We weren't sure what to expect given the low price of the room, but our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. We had a 1-bedroom suite which was perfect for traveling with a child. The free breakfast and internet were very helpful amenities. The location of the […] hotel was close enough to Las Vegas Blvd that we could easily walk there to sight-see, but far enough away that we felt like we could actually leave the strip (which was great for a family traveling with a child). The hotel staff were amazing helpful and friendly. The room was also very quiet. We shared only 1 wall with another guest room and rarely heard any noise. The pool was very nice. We didn't go in it, but lots of families with older children used it frequently. We would definitely stay here again if we have to travel to Vegas again, and would recommend this to others--particularly families with young children. Read more

"Excellent Value, Location, Service and Staff"
Stayed at the Desert Rose Resort for a week in August 2011. There is no resort fee at the Desert Rose Resort. The resort is 1.5 from S. Las Vegas Blvd. and 10 minutes drive from the McCarran International Airport. The apartment was spacious and clean, from the full kitchens, to the bed linen that was cool and crisp, to the dining area and bathroom. […] Included in the price was a daily complimentary buffet breakfast, a free morning edition of USA Today newspapers, free wireless internet and free parking, .A Managers’ Cocktail Reception is held every Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 7pm with beer, wine, soft drinks and light snacks. The pool and spa area where guests can further relax was clean and inviting and a barbeque area where individuals can BBQ poolside is also available. I enjoyed the air-conditioned gym; the machines all worked. I was able to do my laundry in building’s laundry room with an iron and ironing board provided in the suite. The staff was always helpful when approached. The concierge is quite knowledgeable about what’s happening around Las Vegas, and offered up free tickets to see the Nathan Burton show. The Desert Rose Resort was pleasant, relaxing and well worth the price overall and I would definitely recommend the resort to individual visiting Las Vegas. Read more
"Great Family Friendly"
It's like having a condo...clean, comfortable, lots of room and has everything you need. I will stay here every time I come back to Vegas! The coffee was great too!

"Nice ammenities"
The resort is as convenient as any place could be being off the strip. I have stayed there in years past and it is starting to show some wear and tear. The carpeting is worn and stained, the TV's are antiquated and the furnishing are outdated. However, the breakfast is a real plus and the room afforded to the guest is much more than any conventional […] hotel on the strip. It's time for a makeover however. Read more
"Good value"
If you are looking for an inexpensive suite with a full kitchen this will foot the bill. The location was convenient to the strip and the gates community was nice. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. The hotel needs some new paint...carpet...and decorations but the at home kitchen, dinning room, living room and comfortable bed and pull out couch […] was all we needed. If moden beauty is what you need pay more but if you are looking for an inexpensive extended stay place...this will work. Read more
