Full kitchen, with dishes; seperate bedroom with second TV. Nice breakfast, pool, exercise room, conceriege, morning USA Today paper and on and on. All for less than a premium room at a casino. We look forward to the next trip to Vegas now that we have a diecent place to stay.

Outdoor walks around pool to back and through parking lots would not be good in heat of summer or during rain or cold winds. Good home spot, if you have a car and want to drive to outlying Nevada areas, but want to walk, deuce bus, or monorail while playing in Vegas. Nice to have kitchen which acts like an extra sink for toothbrushing or contact lens, as bathroom is not that accesible.

This complex was such a find ! i have food intolerances and wanted to try self catering (have been 8 times to vegas now and stayed in all large hotels and got annoyed at the cost of buffets that i cannot eat hardly anything from!) we stayed in 1 bedroom suite. excellent room - really clean and well kept. great kitchen area, proper cooker, microwave, huge fridge freezer, sink, pots pans etc toaster and blender - EVERYTHING! bargain price as well. breakfast laid on by hotel each morning which most people took back to suite and ate. it was located behind mgm next to tropicana car park (can walk through car park straight onto strip), yes there was alot of walking - but dont go to vegas and not expect to walk! could park car right outside room and you were just left alone . Only three downsides ; breakfast is a free for all - and isnt on for long enough - however just go in get what you need and leave, two pool area could do to be bigger, sun beds are all gone by 9am - get there quick and three air con in our room was very old and was really noisy and clunky so either on or off as it woke you up when it cut in. BUT these points aside it was fab and i will be going back next time (its a non gaming property). i wanted to do vegas my way (having been alot before)- quiet poolside days doing my own thing and my choice to explore hotels and casinos at night and not have to stay in them.

Good Place -- worked out well for a business traveler. Not much in the way of amenities though. I wanted a quiet non-casino place and I got it. The room was well-equipped. My only complaint is that it had been "de-odorized" too often and had a harsh chemical smell about it. Work-out room was disappointing: universal gym broken and the only elliptical machine was half-functioning: you couldn't increase resistance.

Everything was great the only thing I can say wasn't up to par was my check out. I waited 15 minutes at an empty front desk, the morning I was leaving. We had a plane to catch and did not have the time to wait for the receptionist to get off the phone and check us out. The call sounded like something that could have waited until we were checked out. I realize sometimes phone call take longer than expected but I had one of the cleaning people go back to were the receptionist was and let her know I was in a Hurry. It was 6AM and we had to get to the airport to catch a flight. I tried to be patience but dropped off my keys and left after losing 15 minutes of time. She did not even come out and say one minute please. I work with the public often and know how important the customer who is present is vs. the customer on the phone. I hope the receptionist for that morning Sunday Sept 6 2009 gets an oppurtunity to read this. Otherwise the service was great.

The Desert Rose Resort is an ok resort, a solid 3* property but no more. The pool is very basic compared to some of the other hotels in the area, but this is reflected in the price you pay. The location of the property is pretty good, close to the MGM and the attractions of the strip. Internally the rooms are pretty good and very well equipped. The only negative comment is that they (or my room) was showing some signs of age. But this is only a very minor negative. Service at check-in and check-out was faultless from the front desk staff. Overall the Desert Rose offers excellent value for money compared to other suite rooms in the other hotels, just don't expect it to be on a par with other hotels scoring the same rating.

The customer service we received was outstanding. Overall a great place. Two issues, however: 1) the pool are is way too small for the number of rooms. Other guests were coming at the crack of dawn, laying out towels to save what few lounge chairs there were, and then not showing up until 1 in the afternoon. Poor form, people. 2) our room (a 1 bedroom suite) had the bedroom wall next to the walkway. VERY noisy - poor design by architect. When we go back, I'll make sure we have the bedroom on the interior wall. In looking at the map, there are probably 4 rooms on each floor with this layout.

I found this place online and based my decision to stay here on the reviews it received. I was not disappointed. Upon arrival I notice how close(walking distance)it was to the strip. Checking in was quick and simple and the staff was very friendly. There were six of us in a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite and when we entered the room we were very happy. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and put away their belongings. The room was clean and we had a balcony that faced the parking lot which was nice too. They offered a simple breakfast in the morning which was good so you can eat a little something before going out for the day. Although we did not use the pool during the day, it appeared to get full quickly so it's a good idea to get there early to get a seat. We went to the pool on our last night in the late evening and it was pretty much empty and the family and I had a great time. I would definitely stay here again. If you are looking for a family friendly place or something that doesn't have a casino this is the place to stay.

The atmosphere was family oriented and low key. The suites were very spacious, clean, and modern. they had a living room with a pull-out sofa bed, dining table that seats four, kitchen, and separate bedroom and bathroom in the 1-bedroom suite. The 2-bedroom suite had two full bathrooms, one reached through the bedroom and one in the hall. The kitchen included a full-size refrigerator and stove as well as dishes, silverware, pots & pans, and cooking utensils. In addition, breakfast was provided daily in the common area. The staff was very accomodating.
