"Great stay for a Short Layover"
I had been travelling in Italy for a few days and my flight back to the US was from Rome. I selected the Hotel Diocleziano because of the reviews and location. The hotel is located so close to the train station (Roma Termini) it so helpful, as I was taking the train to airport in the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful explaining how to catch […] the airport train and with close recommendations for dinner. The room was nice, seemed a little dated in terms of bedspread and carpeting, but more importantly it was clean and quiet. I was able to walk to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Ruins and the Coliseum then took the subway back to the train station. Good location, great staff. I would return here next time with hopefully more than a n afternoon in Rome. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient to Public Transport"
Okay, I'll admit it - I'm not a fan of the Termini area and much prefer the historic district, but this recent trip had me traveling early morning on a major holiday to the airport. Due to my concern about finding a cab in the early morning (couldn't book a shuttle due to the holiday), I decided to book a termini hotel to be near the train station. […] Wow, am I glad I found the Diocleziano. It was fantastic. The room and bathroom were great in size (there were two of us and even with our luggage we weren't bumping into each other), and very clean. For breakfast the food and selection was great. The staff was so friendly. Then the location is just a block from the metro and/or train station. I'm very glad I booked the Diocleziano. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great small hotel, best than expected"
Great small hotel, the rooms are very clean, the breakfast is excellent including some hot ítems. It is a nice detail the goodies they put in your minibar which are free of charge. The personnel attitude is outstanding at all times. The neigborhood is just OK, close to the Termini train station, taxi base and metro stations (Termini and Piazza de la […] Republica). You can combine walking with metro passes, and a few taxis depending of the situation and you got all covered. If in Rome again, I would be back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent choice overall, and family friendly"
Doreen at the front desk was very helpful. She provides a customer-oriented service. Breakfast was excellent (we were served fresh-squeezed orange juice and capuccino every morning) and free drinks from minibar was a small surprise. Bathroom items were very considerate, too. The only thing you need to bring is a hair conditioner and your make-up kit. […] They have everything else(even bubble bath and Q-tip, but no lotion). And maybe moisturizing shower gel if you have a dry skin. The location was excellent, too. I had not realized how convenient it would be to be close to Termini Station, until I actually went there. If I go back to Rome, I will definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Diocleziano for 6 nights and what a pleasing experience it was.Check in was a breeze thanks to Doreen...she checked us into our room early since our flight arrived in Rome on Saturday morning. "Close to main train station"
This is an excellent choice for those who want to be near the train station in Rome. It is a two minute walk from Terminii to the hotel. The hotel itself is quite nice; large rooms for Italy and baths much like those in the US. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff with readily available English speakers.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Recommendable hotel in front of the Termini, Rome"
Friendly staffs, clean room, nice restaurant for breakfast, warm room, hot bathtub with Jacuzzi, and so on. Not a big hotel as a whole but everything was above the average. My wife liked it very much. The location close to the Rome central station is also good for many view points by using metro A and B. Walking to the Colosseum is possible and enj […] oyable. "Location Service Price -- What more could you ask?"
Good price, good location, great service. What else can you ask for ? This hotel is situated in a quiet ( but not remote ) part of Rome, near the Termini train station. But there are still a lot of restaurants and stores in the area. The staff were very friendly, ready to assist in any requirement that you may have ( from getting directions, Rome information […] and getting a taxi ) . The rooms were very clean and well heated. Breakfast is good and the breakfast attendants were very attentive and helpful. And most importantly, it is not expensive. Termini is just a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel, and from there you can access the Metro to go see the sights of Rome and then there are the trains to reach all of Italy or Europe. From Termini, we were able to reach Venice via the TrenItalia Frecciargento Bullet Train, we took the first train (0655 AM) and we arrived in Venice by (1030), spent a whole day in Venice and took the return train the same day for an 1100 PM arrival back to Termini and were back in our warm hotel beds in 5 minutes. This hotel is wonderfully located. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, Easy to access from the "Termini" hotel"
This is one clean, (big room 405) hotel with maybe 33~ rooms. The front desk was very helpful. Only one small issue, internet, was painfully slow. Maybe because I was using Macbook and iPhone (according to the front desk that they've heard the issues with using Mac products accessing their internet). I would suggest getting €20 for 2Gig data plan, […] 3G speed pre-paid phone service and tethering the internet (which, in my case, faster than internet provided). However, internet service was free, so can't complain. Overall, maybe it's low season (12/13/2012~12/16/2012), the price paid was very reasonable. It took us: less than 10 minutes walk from hotel to train station. About 25 minutes~ slow walk from Spanish Steps, or Trevi Fountain. less than 5 minutes walk to Metro, which you can take the Metro to Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colosseo, Foro di Roma etc...... This hotel is situated at the location which would be easy to walk or get to the public transportation. Oh, the mini bars (drinks, cookies) is free, and they refill everyday! I will not hesitate to go back again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Small rooms, probably too small for families on vacation, but very nice staff. Helpfulness seems to be a philosophy here, which makes up for being away from home. "Nice, Friendly upscale Motel"
The hotel is tucked away on a small quiet street ,yet just 1 block from the main train depot in Rome. We were given a large comfortable room, (though the mattress was quite hard) with a huge balcony to enjoy our morning coffee. The staff at this hotel is wonderful. Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The location, near the train station, was very convenient. The staff at the Hotel were outstanding, courteous, very helpful, spoke English which was a great help. The morning Breakfast was fantastic, more food than you could ever want. Fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, pastries, cereal, all kinds of breads, meats, tomatoes, coffees made to order, juices, fresh squeezed orange juice. I can go on, but you get the picture. […] The ladies helping us were so polite. Location is awesome. Right next to the Termini, and the Metro, where both Blue and Red lines come. You can go anywhere in Rome from this location. Quiet city street at night. Rooms were very comfortable, great Air Conditioning. They had a neat gym, three computers for you to stay on top of emails. Free daily newspaper to read. "Convenient and nice."
We booked this hotel because of how close it was to the train station. It was no more than a 5 minute walk and was a very nice hotel. Great quiet location at a super price for Rome! Avery quick walk from the train station. Excellent help from the friendly staff, and a good breakfast. "Hotel with the best location and service!"
First, rooms were amazing, location is superb - within 5 min walk to the termini station and there is a central bus stop too where all the buses going to prime locations arrive. In coming to an unfamiliar city, it is vital to have access to staff who are willing and enthusiastic to help every concern the guest might have. As a guest, I checked in with […] my mom and cousin. My mom has issues with her legs and therefore sometimes needs special assistance. As soon as I arrived, we realized that my mom can't use the standard tub that was offered. Immediately, the staff changed her room which had a shower room. There are no elevators in termini station and we were worried that my mom couldn't use the trenitalia train going to venice and tickets were pre-purchased! We spoke to the desk service and he assured us while patiently addressing every question and scenario for which we had concerns. This made our whole trip so relaxing. FInally, the money exchange is offered at a very good rate. The hotel lobby doesn't charge commission. We bought the hop on hop off sightseeing tickets at the desk. The front desk also made reservations for us at a restaurant!!! What else can one ask for??? I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a non-hassle enjoyable accommodation. Hotel Diocleziano is perfectly located near the Termini Metro/Bus station. From there, you can get anywhere in Rome. The hotel staff is very helpful as they assisted us in planning our day trips by marking a map with locagtions to visit and how to get there! Hotel staff is fluent in English. "Very nice hotel"
We thought the Hotel Diocleziano was a very nice hotel. We have no complaints on the hotel itself at all. But it is perhaps too close to the train station, and there is not a good selection of restaurants near the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very impressed with the amenities the hotel offered. These included a gym, free use of computers and internet, breakfast and a mini bar stocked with some soft drinks, juice and a couple of bottles of water. The mini bar items were free and restocked every day. The room was clean and inviting. The room also had a coffee maker. coffee, tea and some […] sweets. These were all nice additions to a clean, comfortable and well equipped room. The staff were attentive and gracious. Service was very good. The hotel is located very close to the central train/bus terminal. Perhaps, a more detailed map or added narrative would have been helpful in getting from the station to the hotel. I ended up unnecessarily taking a taxi instead of the short walk. Above all, the hotel and room were well maintained. The other items just made it that much better. Breakfast was good with a selection of scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, cheese, breads, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice and more. "A perfect home away from home in Rome"
I loved this small hotel. I am American and I loved that it reminded me of a small American hotel. We had two rooms for our family. Both rooms were uniform with high quality furniture, bedding and draperies. The bathroom was very high end. We stayed at the hotel on two different occasions so we saw 4 rooms. The views from the rooms were all so pretty. […] There were many great restaurants within walking distance. The work out room was the perfect size. Breakfast in the hotel offered a little of everything. The staff at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful with reservations, taxis, etc. The wi-fi always worked. The walk to the train station was so short. The walk to the Forum was a little longer but very do-able. We took cabs several times and it gave us a tour of the city and cost under $10 each time. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. I will stay there again when I (hopefully) one day return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Modern clean hotel near Termini train station"
It was clean and pleasant in a pretty good location. Not that near alot of the Room was clean but fairly small. Bathroom was great - very clean modern and pretty. Location was not near the more tourist-y places but we were able to walk to most of them within 30-45 minutes. Breakfast was ok - not great- but good enough. Servers were very friendly and […] helpful. For the money we paid I thought the breakfast could have been a little more expansive and varied. Front desk personnel were ok not exceptional. They did their job in a perfunctory manner, not particularly willing to go out of their way. Next time I would choose a different hotel in a more "happening" location with a less expensive rate. "Excellent Customer Service and Clean Rooms"
We just returned from a 5-night trip to Rome and stay in Hotel Diocleziano. The hotel exceeded our expectations in cleanliness and in the quality of their customer service. We arrived to our hotel much earlier than check-in time (10:30am), and we were able to check-in to our room right away. The front desk and doormen were very friendly and hospitable. […] Upon check-in, Emilio at the front desk gave us a map of the city and showed us which Metro lines we could use to visit the Colosseum and Vatican. Throughout our stay, the front desk was extremely helpful, booking a tour for us to the Vatican at a discounted price, and our airport transportation for the day of our departure. The hotel amenities were very good, from the free wi-fi, free drinks (water and soft drinks) that were restocked daily, to the hairdryer in the bathroom (I brought my own hair dryer and never had to use it). And the free wifi was very convenient and the connection was very fast, even though we had to log-in again every 10 minutes for some reason. The room was very clean, and I loved the fact that we could open our window to the street! The only drawback, which is very slight, was the location of the hotel. Although it was convenient to be close to the Termini station, there weren't the best restaurants nearby. However, we walked 15-20 minutes to our favorite restaurants that we found close to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent Value and Convenience"
This hotel is a perfect choice for one who is going to use the Trenitalia and wants to be near Rome Termini. It is a convenient 5 minute walk to the train station from this hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and attentive to the needs of the traveler on the go. The hotel is well kept, clean, and there is free wifi and even a business […] center (a major perk since many Italian hotels charge at least 5-6 Euros a day, some maybe for 2 hours). The rooms are stocked with crackers, cookies, a coffee maker and a mini fridge that has contents, water, sodas all of which are free (another major perk). The continental buffet breakfast is typically Italian offering juices, hard boiled and scrambled eggs, toast, meats, cereal, coffee, tea, pastries. There is also a small fitness center and spa. Perfect for the person on the go who wants a great value. I would equate this to a nicely maintained Hampton Inn in the USA. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel, great people."
My wife and I were in Rome for 2 nights. This hotel was a very pleasant, clean hotel. The rooms are modest, but excellent for the price. The front desk clerks were very friendly and eager to please. We received some excellent restaurant recommendations from them. The breakfast is included and was very nice. The location is several blocks away from the […] fancier part of town but we felt safe at all times. We could easily walk to many of the major attractions (far from the Vatican though, which is on the other side of the Tiber).
