We love this hotel. They are really pet friendly, and it is nice to be able to carry our little Chihuahua with no hassle. The wine reception is a plus also, and we have met some interesting people there. The restaurant and bar are excellent and the location great. We have stayed at Palomar numerous times and are right at home there.

I'm very picky about hotels and have been recently disappointed by some big brand names. I was referred to Hotel Palomar by a colleague and it did not disappoint. The lobby set the tone for the entire place- a good vibe, a destination away from home. Friendly staff, excellent food, CLEAN nice rooms. The only down side is that I didn't get to stay here long enough. From now on, this will be the only place I stay in Dallas. If you're like me and have high expectations for hotels, you'll love Hotel Palomar.

No longer a 5-star. Have stayed at this hotel several times through two children attending SMU. When it was first remodeled I felt like I was truly taking a break. Now that the recession has been going for a while their cutbacks are obvious with small things: no welcome music entering the room, no turn-down, fewer staff and what bartender in a five star serves an Irish Coffee like this: coffee in a pottery mug, pour wiskey and milk and serve, excuse me but TOTALLY unacceptable. They could also have coffee on each floor - who wants to get dressed to go down to the lobby for a cup of coffee.

This hotel was once a flagship hotel for another chain, and has been taken over and refurbished for it's current incarnation. However, while the hotel is in good shape, and has a trendy feel to it, there are some issues with the dated construction that new linens and walpaper will not fix. On the morning of my stay here, I can tell you that the gentleman in the room next door hit the snooze button 4 times before waking up with a violent coughing fit. He then called a traveling companion to set up breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. To say that the walls are a bit thin would be to understate the case substantially. The restaurant was quite nice, with well prepared food, although the service was a bit spotty.

My only complaint was that our air conditioner didn't get the room as cool as we'd like. It was around 100 degrees outside everyday and our room just stayed a little warm and humid for my taste. Otherwise, excellent staff, clean, modern, and an incredible pool.

It was a clean hotel but the luxury king corner was small along with the bathroom. The pipes made noise in the wall when the neighbors used the water. But overall it was a nicely redone hotel on an upscale part of town.

I'm a business traveler that doesn't need much hand holding. I leave in the am, return late pm, and that's it. This hotel is great: attractive, well-furnished, good staff, comfortable. My only gripe was the $20/day valet only parking. I'm not against valets in general, I just don't feel like I want to pay for my car twice a day on top of $20. Otherwise, excellent place.

I made the silly mistake of booking the wrong day, so we were a no-show on the day-of. When we did arrive and were told of the error, the Palomar and hotels.com staff worked together to simply reset the reservation for teh day of our arrival, no charge, no hassle. They were great! I was sweating bullets but they made it easy and low-stress. We had a fantastic visit. It was very quiet and the room was very nice. modern w/o being cold and uninviting.

The beauty of this hotel was immediate upon arrival. The valet parking attendants were quick and enthusiastic and made every effort to help with the two bags that my girlfriend and I carried with us. When you walk into the lobby, the ambience takes you and makes a romantic weekend that much more exilerating. The only complaint is the confusion and lack of earlier informing of a mistake in our reservations. We originally asked for a Deluxe King but was greeted with a double full room. Once phoning customer service, though, they quickly made up for the confusion with a credit to our room service and accomidations which was very comforting on a weekend which needed to be perfect. Other than that, the hotel was magnificent. The room was perfect for a weekend getaway and spacious enough for a cardinal romp. I would definetly recommend this room for another couple and would absolutely stay again.

Everything was very lovely, except the wine cocktail hour was too crowded and difficult to get to table to be served, had to fight our way up to server. Fell asleep easily in the comfy bed, then at 5am, awoke to hear loud music playing outside our window (at the pool/hot tub area. Called to desk, told he could not do anything about music, run by apartment leasing group. I was kunable to get back to sleep. Certainly something could have been done about the music.

I ALWAYS STAY AT THE PALOMAR WHEN I GO TO DALLAS FOR BOARD MEETINGS EVEN THOUGH IT IS A $40 TAXI RIDE TO THE MEETING. I LOVE KIMPTON HOTELS - VERY CONSISTENT QUALITY ACROSS THE COUNTRY. I AM STAYING AT 70 PARK AVE IN NYC IN TWO WEEKS- THE ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS AND BEDDING LUXURIOUS, THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT - BREAKFAST, DINNER AND QUICK ROOM SERVICE WITH ATTENTION TO DETAIL ON THE FOOD PRESENTATION. LOVE THE FACT THAT EXHALE MIND AND BODY SPA IS ATTACHED TO HOTEL. I TAKE MY CORE FUSION CLASSES THERE IN THE MORNING BEFORE MY MEETINGS. RELAXING BODY TREATMENTS AT THE SPA. THE BREAD AT THE HOTEL IS PHENOMENAL. IT COMES FROM THE EMPIRE BAKERY IN DALLAS AND YOU CAN EVEN BUY A LOAF OF ONE OF THEIR SPECIALTY BREADS FROM THE HOTEL KITCHEN IF THERE ARE ANY LEFT OVER AFTER BREAKFAST - TO DIE FOR - THE SERVICE IS AMONG THE BEST I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND I TRAVEL ALOT. REALLY RECOMMEND KIMPTON HOTELS TO ANYONE -
