It was good hotel, clean, near of everything, specially the train station that is very important issue. To Plaza San Marcos is a quick 18 min walk and full of little pretty stores. The breakfast is bread, juice and coffee but was ok. The reception staff was more than happy to help us specially Agustin.

Hotel Spagna was a convenient walk from the train station and the aqua bus stop. The Hotel Manager was incredibly helpful and friendly. We were thrilled to have our first air conditioning of our vacation, while not strong -did keep the room cooler than the outside. Good value for Venice.

Perfect location, clean, cute little hotel. Personnel is friendly and very very helpful. Things are a little different in Europe, so don't expect 100% American hotel. For example, by American standards breakfast is small. But, you are not going to Venice for breakfast !! Overall our stay was fantastic!!!!!!

Was expecting mediocre service and amenities but was pleasantly surprised. We booked a 4 people room, it was fairly large, clean room. Shower was small but was not a problem for us. Interent is not free so did not try it. A old hotel, but at least clean and convenient located. We got a nice big room and even the bath room was quite big. Only the shower was just too small. The down side really is the reception staff and the service. We booked for a family of 3 and we only got a double bed. They insisted that that was it - no spare bed or anything else. We had no luck […] also with any requests (helping to carry the luggage up the stairs, posting a post card, breakfast a bit earlier, etc). The only good thing about this hotel is its location(near train station). The hotel is on a very busy street and our room was directly over the loud and busy street. Due to the fact that there was NO AIR CONDITIONING!! we needed to keep our windows open making it very difficult to sleep. There is also no fridges in the room and they didnt even let us […] keep our food in the hotel's fridge! And to top it all off, they don't let you keep your room key when you leave the hotel, you have to give it back to the front desk, like you're in school! Lovely hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. Big thing you should know, however - is that there are no elevators. So if you have a large suitcase, and it's 95-degree weather, and you end up on the 4th (top) floor ... it could get ugly.

Received a very friendly welcome on arrival with suggestions on places to visit etc. When we enquired about breakfast on mentioning that my daughter is a coelic the gentleman immediately made arrangements to provide a selection of gluten free breakfast alternatives for her. We've just got back from staying here for 5 nights. This hotel is in a great location, near some well priced restaurants, next to the train/bus stations and about 30 minutes walk to St Mark's Square. We were in a 3 bedroom room and this was spacious, the beds were comfortable and although the shower was slightly small and cramped the bathroom was adequate. The […] only downside was the noise from reception as the staff used the printer very early and late at night. The Hotel Spagna is ideally situated near the train and bus stations. Just a short walk to get rid of your bags before setting out to explore Venice. We loved this Hotel. The price was great especialy for Venice. The rooms were clean and more importantly the beds were very very comfortable. The manager on the desk was freindly and very helpful, especially when we came in very late at night. There is a bit of a hike up the stairs, five floors actually, so either ask for room 111 or 101, or be peprared. […] The breakfast was fine, plenty of crossiants, rolls, james etc and really good tea and coffee. The rooms were very clean, yes a little sparse but this was made up by the huge bathroom. You really dont spend a lot of time in your room in Venice, so I think anything more is really a waste of money. Our room looked over an alley, which meant it was very quiet at night, our friends looked over the main street, but the double glazing made it very quiet for them as well. The hotel is very convienet to everything, including the railway station. Its a quick 5 min walk to the railway station with not one bridge to climb. There are some great shops for that` last minute buy on the way out. All in all id go back there in a heart beat. Its everything you can ask for in such a old city. Some people complained about a musty sell, there was a faint one we noticed as soon as we opened the door, but after 5 minutes it was gone. Oh and the air conditioning was great. I actually had to turn it up as I was freezing, which was a welcome releife on such a hot day. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone. Read more
