"Excellent base to explore greater Miami"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Hotel staff very friendly. nice lobby, good breakfast with fresh fruits and no plastic dishes. After complaining about the size of suite we were sold for 5 persons (definitely too small and not a fair sale) we were given complimentary upgrade to a two bed room suite by the manager which was very much appreciated. Free parking and free wireless internet are very convenient as well as close access to highway and airport.

see all hotels in Miami Beach"Kudos to Fontainebleau Marketing Department"
I am a frequent visitor to Miami/Miami Beach and I can safely say that The Fontainebleau had better step up their product for the amount of money they charge for their rooms. We were 'upgraded' from a deluxe balcony oceanfront room in the Versailles Tower to a Junior One Bedroom Suite in the Tresor Tower. There was absolutely nothing suite about this […] room. The shower and sink were clogged and the shower would flood the marble-tiled bathroom, making it a treacherous situation. The king-sized bed was one of the smallest, most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in. The carpets were stained throughout the room and the paint all over the room was chipped and worn down. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in all the adjacent rooms. What's worse, if you submit any complaints to the hotel staff, they simply request engineering to come look at the room, but they do not do their best job to accommodate you in a different room. I was told multiple times that a general manager would reach out to me regarding the poor experience we were having, but no one ever reached out to me. Listen, the hotel is an amazing experience. I will never deny that. Their pool area and atmosphere is top notch. There is much work to be done to get this to the 5-star status they strive to achieve. Read more
"The hotel charges for every little thing"
I liked the general ambiance of the hotel and all. But be prepared to pay for every little thing when you are there. They charged us 35 dollars per day for resort fee and that didn't include the shades at the beach so we had to pay an additional 25 dollars for that. Also there is only a small cooler that is sensor equipped that holds beverages sold […] by the hotel, so you can't keep any food or drinks of your own. No coffee machine in the room. It is not cheap, and they make it way more costly once you get there. Read more
"Celeb Stop"
It was wonderful, met a few celebrities. Clean rooms, great amenities, great restaurants and clubs.

"Sad to see the Fountainbleau remade into this"
A scene appropriate only for (unbecoming) young peopke who like to drink and party, wedding parties and convention attendees. Impossible to get reservations at the hotel restaurants. So disappointed to see this is what has become of a Miami "classic." I planned a romantic getaway weekend (from Manhattan!) around this property -- waste of money and a […] weekend. Read more

"Massive Resort"
The Fontainebleau is a massive resort that has everything you could possibly need. The hotel is in fantastic condition and the amenities in the hotel are very nice. The only issue is that there are thousands of guests/hotel visitors at any one time and there are many families with kids running rampid. I enjoyed the stay and would return the hotel again […] in the future. Read more

I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, bed comfortable, pools and beach fabulous. Very pricey (food and drinks - one drink at pool $16). It was a very nice getaway though and I would go back again.

"Paper-thin walls!!!"
I was placed in a room next to a family with four small children and the walls of the hotel were paper-thin!!! I heard every cry, shout, scream, complaint, etc....!
"Fontainebleu - Nice recovery"
The original room we were given was not worth the price. It was too small and dated. We had an issue during the night due to lots of noise outside our room and outside through the window from the partygoers leaving the bar. We complained to the front desk and management upgraded us to a junior suite in another tower which had significantly less noise. […] Good recovery. Read more
"Location"
Nice enough hotel, but not near anything. Have to take taxi to get to south beach restaurants. Nothing near the hotel (i.e. restaurants, shops, etc...). Staff great, beach nice, pool nice. Also expect resort prices. Ordered room service late night with my kids. Had 1. 1-chicken strips, 1-fries, 1-cheese pizza, 1-shrimp cocktail, 1-house salad, and […] 3-10 oz pepsi's.........total bill $123..... Read more

"FB lives up to its Reputatuion-Trendy and Lively"
This is a great resort if you are looking for a cool, lively and retro Miami. Music is played throughout the hotel and pool area with different bars- The hotel offers a scene. The lobby turns into a club atmosphere in the evening and you can party at one of the clubs. We had a great time because we knew what to expect. There was a couple celebrities […] there during our stay. Staff was helpful and very friendly. This resort is obnoxiously expensive! Although the nightly rate is reasonable, everything else is not. We paid $25 for a drink, $20 for a burger and all the bills charge tax and 18% (which is actually convenient.) They charge a delivery charge for everything and nothing is included! Service is slow at the cabanas or by the pool and we waited almost 2 hours for room service. Read more

"Great facility/poor service"
accomodations were wonderful, but the service was very poor. Front desk staff need training. Gym attendant should be replaced. Gym is equiped well
"Great Hotel but Nightclub is too loud"
We stayed on the 5th floor of Chateau. You can hear the music from the nightclub LIV all night until 500 am. Beware of the "lower" rates that put you in these rooms.Request a high floor or stay somewhere else.
"Nice resort"
Everything was great about this hotel. It's definitely 5 stars, which also means that you pay for it, but I went in expecting this. Room view was great from the Tresor tower. Service was friendly and very good. I would stay here again.

"Front desk under-staffed"
Not worth the price per night . We booked full ocean view and ended up with a partial view, which was supposedly an upgrade. Front desk under-staffed, one person is just not enough
"The Fontainebleau"
Very solid for the price. Great pool, plenty of in hotel entertainment. Our room was very nice, for South Beach standards.

"One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in"
The last time I stayed at the Fontainebleau was nearly 12 years ago, so I was quite surprised to see how nice the nearly $1 billion renovations updated the historic hotel. In a word, the hotel is now even more fabulous than it was back in its heyday. Even the aroma of the place is magnificent and the Lapis Spa is divine. I will now continue to make […] a yearly pilgrimage. The staff was so helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation. Read more

Nice hotel
"Very expensive meals and drinks"
Theres nothing walking distance ...everything extreme expensive
"$$$$$"
The hotel takes advantage of those guests with a vehicle. 36 dollars a day plus tips. Too much expectancy placed on tipping EVERYONE! Beautiful hotel though, and if you have money to spend its a tough place to pass up.
"Fountain bleu OVER RATED WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE"
Hotel is over rated they charge u for everything! Customer service is non existent. No one helps u w bags waited over an hour to change our room. Refused to give us toothpaste had to pay $4 for a trial size. Far from the strip, No comp parking 65 to park can't use showers after the pool gotta pay 35.... Pay pay pay.. Not worth any of it sorry I tried […] it ...back to the loews!!! Read more
hotel was very nice, but after spending a lot of money to stay the night at the hotel and spending money at a restaurant in the hotel the bouncers at the club within the hotel refused to let my party bachelorette party eneter the club. They were very rude and I would not go back again. Other than that the hotel itself is beautiful.
"Questionable."
Not very family friendly, but hey if you like short skirts, then this is the place. Friday and Saturday nights are just eye popping. The pools are good and the proximity to the beach is the best on the beach. However, the meter is running as soon as you get out of the taxi.
"Fontainebleau Miami Beach"
The staff was wonderful, the hotel beautiful and the accomodations and grounds were amazing. Absolutely at 10 out of 10....
"Fontainebleau Miami Beach"

"Fun, vibrant hotel in Miami Beach!"
I've stayed at the Fontainebleau many times over the years, and since the big renovation a few years ago, it's better than ever. Great rooms (even the standard ones), great restaurants, fantastic club (LIV) and always rocking pool area. The gym and spa are fantastic. My favorite part is the beach where you can get away from the party and just relax […] and enjoy one of the nicest sections of Miami Beach. Read more
"Pure Elegance"
I loved this hotel. I have stayed here before and each time has been a great experience. The only thing that I do not like is the location of the hotel. It is not walking distance to all the shops & restaurants on Collins. In fact, a roundtrip taxi will cost you approximately $20 + tip. If you are looking to relax, enjoy the ambiance, nightlife, mingle […] with business elite's, celebrities and lay poolside, this is the place to be! Read more
"Maintenance needed!"
Our room (1811, I think) was wonderful but there were nagging problems that I want to bring to your attention: Hallway light burned out in hotel corridor (near elevator) "Exit" sign near our stairway in corridor hanging out from its mount, wires showing. (Fire code violation!) Bathroom sink (master bath) drain very slow to drain Toilet "runs" after […] use (I had to jiggle jiggle handle to stop) Light bulb burned out in bathroom. Still, the room, hotel, and staff were wonderful! THese things detracted from what would have been a perfect time. Read more
"Fountainbleue"
I expected a much nicer experience based upon all of the hype about the hotel and the high price of the rooms. Be prepared. It's a zoo of tourists and lookie-loos. Reminded me of a newly opened Vegas casino where the place is just filled with tons of people that just want to take a look around. Frankly, it was just "ok". Not impressed. On a positive […] note, the food at the restaurants and poolside cafe was amazing but be prepared to pay $$$$$$. And a cocktail will cost you $20 or more. Read more

"Hidden fees!!!!"
I booked thru Hotels.com and thought that was the final price. Thwy then charge you 30 dollars for free internet, tv, etc.... This was not an option but a charge. Keep that in mind. Also, parking is over 30 dollars as well but that was expected.
