Really lovely hotel with a terrific, helpful staff. Our room was basic, but spotlessly clean and with a great bed, with good quality linens. The only problem was that the room had no soundproofing and we could hear our neighbors whenever they said a word or made a move. I spoke with the staff about it and they indicated that they would pass on the feedback […] and that the hotel had some planned renovations over the winter and they might address this issue. I don't consider this hotel a four star hotel. I don't know who gave it a rating of 4 star. I give this hire 2.5 star. The service is slow and not very friendly. The room was not well maintainted. My pillow had stains on it. There were masqitos in the room and more would come in every time I open the balcony door. The hotel needs to spray daily to keep […] insects and bugs away. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to be accomodating and helpful. The location was beautiful with a view of the Med. sea and the sea front promonade. It was just a short block to the main street in Amalfi with dozens of wonderful restaurants and shops. Great location and excellent service. Breakfasts are excellent and the location allows you to walk to beach and center. Also, the buses start from the station 5mins away as well as jet boats to all the other sites to see. When the pool is added the hotel will be complete.

We loved the Marina Riviera - they put our sons in the room next to us so we could keep an eye on them and both of us had sea view/town view rooms. Beds were great, bathroom is large and newly renovated with rain showers and they gave us a bowl of fresh fruit when we arrived. We ate on the patio overlooking the sea and town of Amalfi - we really didn't want to leave for the day but just sit there relaxing with the great cappuchino. The staff is very friendly and helpful but DON'T take their advice about driving to Pompeii over the hill - take the route through Salerno!! We asked for restaurant recommendations but unfortunately they sent us to a very chi chi trendy place filled with tourists. We just wanted a local good Italian place so find a restaurant on your own. The hotel is right on the coast road and a 5 minute walk to Amalfi city center. Stay here for the convenience and views. All in all the hotel was great and we highly recommend it. Read more

The location was perfect, especially when kids wanted to go out at night; everything in walking distance, even marina to catch boat to Capri. Tip, don't eat too much too quickly until waiter brings eggs to order menu over. Its free and very good. Amalfi is the perfect staging town for entire Amalfi coast. Early morning ferries to Positano, Capri, Salerno. […] Buses all day long up and down the coast. The southwards bus trip from Sorrento to Positano is scarier than most amusement park rides. Pros: The hotel is perfectly located at a high point right on the beach. You can walk to all of the amenities in amalfi (it's right there). it is also convenient to the ferry and bus stop (2 minute walk). The hotel sits a bit higher with amazing views from the rooms (i believe all rooms have a view). Breakfast is great, and the restaurant next door […] (Eolo - i believe) is also pretty good with an excellent view. Cons: Like every other hotel we stayed at in europe, the king bed is two twin beds pushed together with king bedding. Though they offer "wireless iternet" in the rooms, the router could not reach our room and so we had to use internet in the lobby, which is still pretty slow (but who needs much internet when you're in the amalfi coast?!?). The hair dryer was broken and they said they would fix it the next day - it was never fixed through our four day stay there. Read more

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Marina Riviera, Amalfi for one week 28/08/12 - 04/09/12. The hotel looks right out over the bay and town - such pleasing views! Very convenient for the beach, shops & restaurants (with two teenage daughters in tow, this proved ideal for their own independence). The rooms we had were next to each other (on request) […] adjoined by a small corridor which had a door leading out. We kept this door closed and had our own doors open for privacy, allowing the two rooms to interconnect. As standard rooms go, they were fully equipped and kept beautifully clean. We had a very narrow balcony, not really big enough to sit out on, but still had amazing views across the bay - more than we expected for two standard rooms. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful - on arrival we had a complimentary bottle of champagne to congratulate our anniversary and later in the week all staff members wished my eldest daughter a happy birthday, even leaving her a present in her room! The breakfast menu was delicious with a variety of foods on offer each morning, from croissants and pastries to eggs and bacon, fresh melon and pineapple, buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes with basil, toast and cereals. The location is excellent with sacred parking available a short walk away for 20E per night. The hotel is on the edge of town with great views of the town you wouldn't see if you were closer yet you're only a 2 minute walk away. The hotel is small but that suited us fine. Our de luxe room had one of the best views in Amalfi and was spotless after its very recent (smell the new paint!) refurbishment. Top quality, albeit at a price. We shall think seriously about not using a car at all if we visit Amalfi again. The hotel entrance at ground level is not very conspicuous, and responsible UK drivers would hesitate to park […] on the bend outside, even for a short stay. But you first have to make it to reception 2 floors up to get your parking voucher for the discounted (still €20 a day) use of the underground car park round the headland. We stayed at Hotel Marina Riviera during our visit to Amalfi in Easter 2012. We had an amazing time largely because of this hotel, which is very special. The staff were terrific. They all spoke great english and were always willing to help. Service with a smile. Breakfast each morning was excellent. The room (a Deluxe Double) was spotless and spacious […] with a balcony looking out across Amalfi beach. I had read previous reviews saying that the hotel was noisy, but our room had recently been renovated to include sound proofing and as a result we slept well everynight. The hotel is ideally located, just a three minute walk to the marina, where you can catch a ferry to Positano / Capris or a bus to Sorrento / Ravello. I thought that Amalfi was much nicer than both Positano and Sorrento so happy we chose to stay in Amalfi. Its only a 20 minute bus trip to Ravello, which is a must. As is Capris. We were lucky enough to stumble across an amazing restaurant in the main street of Amalfi called Da Gemma, which was first rate. All in all a great stay. Forget Positino and Capri, Amalfi is amazing and this hotel has the best location and views firom your balcony and breakfast terrace the best in town. The staff are great and helpful and the breakfast is superb. We stayed for a week and it was heaven. Tips. Explore Atrani for geat food as its a two minute walk away. Hire a speedboat for half a day, […] go to Ravello and on the walk up the valley to Positano and back via Atrani. positano is an expensive disappointment and a waste for a day. capri port and town are dreadful but Anacapri is well worth a visit.
