"Perfect Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

Price at the restaurant was high ei $16.00 for glass of house wine. Gym under reno and card for other facility didn't work

"Perfection in Old Montreal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

The hotel is overpriced. The family loft is not confortable as you have to go up a small stair with your luggage. The carpets are torn. The breakfast is horrible As well as the tiny space for breakfast. I don't recommend this hotel.

Good for the price you pay. They don't provide shower shampoo, just soap. Also the rooms are so close and separated by thin walls, so people in the hallway can wake you up at night and people talking or walking in the room next to you can be heard and wake you up if you are a light sleeper which happened to me.
"Nice, clean *huge* loft room"
The room was a converted attic in a french provinicial-roofed house. Four double beds meant we could all easily fit. Charming skylights. Best deal in downtown Montreal. Lots of local restaurants nearby, which is important given the amount of snow between you and food.
"Hotel de Paris great location"
Awesome location for the village and plateau. Recently been refurbished, executive rooms are worth the extra money.
"Hotel de Paris-Weekend in October"
We're not generally global travelers...usually stay at chains in America (e.g. Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Hampton Inn)...so this seemed like a stretch for our comfort zone. However, this is a good hotel in a convenient location. It reminded us of some of the places we stayed at in Europe several years ago. Staff was very courteous to our family and offered […] excellent directions to find places to visit, eat, etc. Nearby to a Metro if you need to go beyond walking distance. 15-20 minute walk at a leisurely pace to Vieux Montreal. Wide variety of different places to eat on St Denis St (10 min walk)...Subway and Starbucks to Indian/Chinese/other fare. Chinatown area is also a 15 minute walk. On the weekend we were there, we had no problem finding nearby street parking that felt secure. Room was comfortable, but tight. Similar to rooms we stayed at in Europe when on a family vacation 7 years ago. We were in a 2 double bed studio and it was adequate for sleeping and getting ready for the day. TV was very small, bathroom was very small, desk area was very small. However, it was okay for sleeping and getting ready for the day...we were there to tour Montreal not watch movies in the room. BOTTOMLINE: We'd stay here again and recommend to friends. Read more
"Charming hotel close to everywhere you want to be"
I found the staff helpful and all bilingual (French/English). It was a charming old hotel with a lot of character. I stayed in the family loft, which was more like a converted attic. But the room was comfortable and clean. When the bathtub drain wasn't working, the staff quickly resolved the problem.
"Hotel de Paris"
The employees were very nice and helpful. They helped us find all the restaurants and places we were looking for and were very friendly. The room was ok size, the bed was soooo hard and noisy (did not like it at all, my back is still hurting) and it was not very clean. The bathroom was very small, but clean. There was no shampoo, conditioner, shower […] gel or hair dryer. They only had these very small soaps. They do provide parking if you need it, but there is also free parking on the street. I liked the location, it was quiet at night but it was not far from all the action. About 5 min walk to restaurants and bars and 30 min walk to old town. I would def go back to this hotel if they change the beds. Read more
"You can't beat the location or the price"
My husband and I just stayed at the Hotel de Paris and loved it. It's charming, clean, and in a fantastic location. We were able to walk to a variety of cool restaurants and bars, as well as Old Montreal. My only complaint is the mattress was a bit on the hard side, but I slept fine nevertheless. For an extra $5, definitely spring for the "Executive" […] room. The free breakfast served in the adorable bistro was perfect. We will definitely stay here again during our next visit to Montreal. "Old hotel"
Good for budget. If I had more time to book a hotel I wouldn't have chosen this hotel.
"Works even for seniors"
Upon first view, climbing the 22 uneven steps to the office is a concern. But, leave the luggage at the bottom until you learn where your room will be. Our room was across the street, number 11. It was perfect. A comfortable room with lots of personality. At the top of the list for service is the help the desk people gave us. They all went above and […] beyond. The neighborhood is eclectic, artsy, filled with great restaurants, friendly people, and so much personality. When we go back, we will go to the Hotel de Paris. Read more
"Hotel de Paris in Montreal--decent hotel"
We stayed here, brought our dog. Had a nice room, was clean, pet-friendly. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
"Meh in Montreal"
Nothing special. But great location. Small room and the TV didn't work. Clean and quite.

"Aweful"
Small room, small tv, 2 towels, squeaky bed, small shower, and we were in the aannex building and the walls were paper thin !
"Hotel de Paris"
The manager at the main desk was very kind to us and took out the map of Montreal to guide us how to come to the location we needed to be at. The only thing we would like to see improve is breakfast - it could be a little bit richer.

"Hodel de paris in montreal quebec"
There free breakfast they had really suck you for toast and a muffin or a bagal. They were rude. The breakfast part was not great at all.
