Technically I guess it is fair to say that a tiny room with a Murphy bed and a convertible sofa will sleep four, but it's not good for anything other than sleeping. Perfect location. Easy access to the slopes, near the grocery store and shops. We had a kitchenette in our room which was great for stopping in and fixing lunch or making breakfast. "Great Ski Lodge & staff"
Overall the stay was very comfortable and clean. While the murphy bed was not so comfortable, the 2 queens were great. We read other reviews & found concerns about elevators or parking not much of an issue. While parking was expensive per night, the staff offered free parking options 3 mins away. - Not a big deal. "Second time staying here"
We arrived and our room was not ready. Was not ready until 4:30, after two nights we had to switch rooms as our third night was booked separately. We always try and have the rooms ready in time for check in at 4 pm, even earlier when possible however unfortunately when you came it was an extremely busy time and timing was just a bit tight. In regards to having to switch rooms, we do our best to avoid this but when nights are added afterwards sometimes it is not possible due to other reservations that have been made in those room types. "Good Place to Stay!"
It's totally set up for skiers and a great place to stay. You walk out your door, hop on your skis and two minutes later you are at the lifts. The Sundance lift stays open until 4 pm so you have lots of ski time. "Tired and Sad"
You can't consider yourself a "guest" at this hotel, more like an inmate. First they checked us into an room that hadn't been cleaned. The front desk apologized and gave us another room and assured us the manager would contact us the next morning to apologize as well, never hear from him. The shower when turned on literally screamed, impossible to have […] a comfortable shower, took two days to get this fixed. The built in hair dryer sounded like the engine of a 747 but put out the pathetic, luke warm breeze. My wife asked several times to borrow a portable dryer, they appeared to only have one in the hotel that was "in use" for two days before she could get it. On our last day we asked for a late check out, as it was a Sunday at a ski resort we thought it would be no problem as most people are there on the weekend and not during the week, so no big rush for our room. We were told that check-out is at 10:00 am but as a courtesy we could stay at 10:30, absolutely no flexibility here. We asked to speak with the manager and were told there is no manager to speak with. As we were packing our down to our car around 10:30 we came back up to get the rest of our gear at 10:35 to find our electronic key cancelled, fortunately one of the maids let us re-enter to retrieve the rest of our things. We are very sorry to learn about the issues you encountered during your stay. Our sincere apologies that you were checked into a dirty room, this was certainly a big mistake and we have discussed it with all staff and implemented measures to ensure that it does not happen again. In regards to the shower, according to our maintenance logs this issue was fixed the next day, very sorry it occurred in the first place however we do our best to fix things as soon as we are notified of a problem. I also see we provided a new hair dryer within the hour we were notified of that issue. In regards to check out, we certainly do our best to accommodate however it does depend on the check ins that are arriving that day because if the room is booked it does have to be ready in time for that guest checking in later that day. Unfortunately we were unable to provide more than the extra half an hour that day as we did have a check in for that room that day and the hotel was very busy. As a ski resort, most guests stay 5-7 days in the winter on average, sometimes even longer, so although it was a Sunday we still had a full slew of arrivals that day. The key cards are automatically programmed until 11 am the day of check out, very sorry to hear it did not work for you for some reason. The amenities were standard but very adequate. Service was excellent, as was the location. Parking is a bit of a premium so save your spot. Ski lockers were also at a premium so we had to carefully keep equipment in our room at times. Everything is pretty much within walking distance. The Beds were comfy but i found the room was pretty tight. The t.v. was in a poor location on the wall for viewing pleasure. Water pressure was poor in the bathroom shower. It was my first time at Sun Peaks and as we drove into the village I found the scenery to be magical. It was night time and all the Christmas lights are starting to come. We were dissappointed by the additional charges that were charged at the hotel, especially those associated with staying with a pet. I guess we expected more for the price we were paying. With that said we were very happy that our pet was allowed to stay in our room unattended while we skied providing that he stayed quiet and that we provided a contact […] number. Getting around the hotel seemed like a bit of a maze and we often felt like we had to do a lot of running around just to gather equipment or to take the dawg for a walk. I wasn't sure about the hotel from previous reviews I had read, but found out that the reviews were badly out of date as previous issues mentioned had all corrected. The hotel was clean and in excellent shape, no old carpets as one reviewer had noted and all facilities were in tip top shape. We recently booked a studio efficiency room for our family. This room was priced very competitively and I wasn't expecting a lot but still feel that for your money you could do better elsewhere. The room was tiny with no room to move once the beds were pulled out and the beds were uncomfortable. The soundproofing was poor and the doors to the hallway […] were heavy and closed with a loud bang which kept me up quite late on the first night as guests in our hallway were coming and going. I feel too that the amenities listed on the hotels website should come with a caveat. For example: 2 hot tubs for a hotel this size are insufficient and they were always extremely crowded. I was not able to use the ski storage area as the hotel was out of locks. The parking garage would not accommodate our vehicle so we had to park outside but were still charged for parking. We got a pet friendly room so we could bring our dog and were charged almost half of the hotels nightly rate to have him there. Nice Hotel, but....... Very tight cramped room.The Murphy bed was broken, easily fixed but an inconvenience. The coffee maker was not working. There were no instructions on how to use the microwave/convection oven unit. The ski storage was adequate but meant hauling skis through the lobby and then down to parkade and walking forever to find the room […] in a very poorly lit location. The shower was also just adequate. The tap was wearing out and hard to adjust and the shower head not adjustable. The small fridge had a very loud compressor that kept us awake and the noise from the bar carried through our room. Maybe I am too picky but I have stayed elsewhere for less dollars and received much, much more including a continental breakfast. We will not be coming back to this lodge.
