My stay wasn't absolutely terrible, however I expected more for the price. The A/C didn't work properly and when I asked for help from maintenance all I received was attitude from the maintenance person. The overall result was no A/C for my stay. I requested room service to bring up some Ice and had to call 3 times before I received a response. The […] Ice finally made it to my room 4 hours later. The view from my room was outstanding. Not the greatest hotel, but good value for the money in comparison to the other pricey hotels. The beach location was very good, but beach was only OK. Several good beach restaurants within walking distance, but naturally on the pricey side as is everything in Seychelles. Cab fare from the airport to the hotel was about $50.

Never opt for this hotel. Primarily because of the following reasons. 1. Because of the reception staff behaviours- they either dont know about the excursions nearby, or a car rental or any other queries you might have during your stay. Behavior is awful and they do not treat their guests well 2. Maintenance is pathetic- We had to sleep two days without […] the AC. The shower panel water overfows and the rooms are awfully small. 3. No room service- you do not even get a glass of water if you ask. There is no room service and you have to buy it from the pool bar. No single bottle of water is complementary here. One bottle of water costs 50 SR compared to 10 SR in the supermarket. 4. Food is not upto the mark- The restaurant serving indian food and other cuisines is terrible. Go to Berjaya Beau Vallon restaurant and try out their cusine - much better 5. On a little positive note- the security guy was helpful and there was another waitress in the restaurant who treat you well. 6. PROs: Location on Beau Vallon Beach was EXCELLENT, dinners/drinks on the hotel patio and beach at sunset were marvelous. Beach is gorgeous, and the part around the hotel has fine, white sand and very calm surf--nice for swimming. Decent variety of restaurants within walking distance; several shops that offer snorkel/dive/fishing trips nearby (beware […] of some of the trips offered at the beach--our expensive fishing trip was not all it was promised to be); several car rental shops within a 5-minute walk; and Victoria is only about 10-15 minutes away by car. Included breakfast had a pretty sizeable spread, and at least has cold foods available very early in the morning, which was convenient for the day we left for the airport. Free wifi in the room. // CONs: Service was pretty awful--one of the guys at the front desk actually laughed at me when I asked if they had a guest computer. (Restaurant servers were more professional.) Note that they require that you have a printed copy of your reservation in hand--took forever to log onto their front desk computer to print one with the sluggish internet connection. Rooms are extremely small but pretty well renovated and clean. Still a lot of construction going on during the soft-opening period--our power went out briefly a couple of times and we had no TV the whole stay--just minor nuisances for us. The hotel was recently renovated and reopened this past January, (staff member informed me). If you look real closely in the lobby you can see remnants of the hotel before renovation. There currently is construction in progress to add more rooms. The rooms were totally renovated, had a pleasant woody scent due to all of the wooden furniture and accents […] throughout. Every facet of the room is updated and modern. For some reason the room's telephones and televisions did not work, (glad I had movies on my Macbook Pro). The wi-fi connection was extremely slow, (couldn't Facetime with the wife). The air conditioner was weak, which left the room luke warm, it was a balmy 88 degrees during the day, (the air conditioner only works by remote control, must be requested when you check-in). There was loud music from the live band at the bar which played until about midnight. I didn't get the room to hang out in all day long. After seeing the sparse amount of sights available on the island I wanted to take a shower and wind down for some well needed rest. Although I don't foresee any reason to ever visit Seychelles again, if for some reason I do, I'll spend the extra money to stay in a more expensive hotel. Read more

We stayed at coral strand for 3 nights on may 23rd.Hotel had a soft opening recently and renovation work is in progress. Upon arrival we were greeted by a cheerful lady named Jessica,who checked us in. Soon to our dismay we found that we could'nt lock our room from inside,there was no TV (that's OK since no one goes to Seychelles to watch TV),no phone,no […] internet,water dripping from A/c and flooding in the shower from clogged drainage. To top it all there was relentless banging on the roof. I asked for a change of room and Jessica immediately obliged. Our second room was much better and we had no repeat problems. I found a great deal on this hotel for ocean view which is why I chose it. The beach is AMAZING here and hotel is in a great location for those who don't want to be too isolated as you can find on other islands or spots on Mahe. From here you can easily walk a few minutes to restaurants, basic shops and the bus route into Victoria/airport. It does not […] fall into the luxury class, but that works great for families and singles. The rooms are contemporary and all have balconies (nice). They are clean, although my bathroom shower had a bit of grout in corners. Small rooms, but they were comfortable, so no real complaints considering this is a high turnover hotel and by the beach. Again, I stress... very clean for a beach hotel. The staff were incredibly nice. They went out of their way to accommodate guests with unrealistic expectations (i.e. guests who think they should be allowed to check in at 9am just because their flights land early, even though the website clearly states that checking is after noon.) Location is great, right in the middle of Beau Vallon beach. Efficient and fast check in, though we were not offered any drinks on arrival... I had specifically requested for an accessible room as we were travelling with a baby, stroller, car seat etc... we were given a room on the second floor and at the other end of the hotel, would not be an issue […] had the elevator been working for our entire stay! Food is good, like the couple of other places we tried on the beach (La plage & Baobab) though very expensive. They don't have any room service which we found very weird, since they are supposed to be a 4 stars...we asked to have ice delivered to our room and were requested to go and pick it up from the bar...? Internet was not working (reception and room) which was rather annoying! Room is ok, though the beds are very hard and the room is a tad small... If you are like me (a neat freak) then you will find it hard to settle in this room as there are no drawers, organizing space... Cleaning of the room was ok, though they did not even pick up dirty glasses, empty bottles of water etc... Late checkout to 9.00 pm (EK flight) possible for an extra 80 euros. Nice outside lounge / seating areas on the first floor though again lacking service. Overall stay pleasant but we did not feel we were in a 4 stars... If you can afford the extra, i would recommend the meridien fisherman cove, located on the same beach, 500 m away. Read more

Overall, we enjoyed our stay though we were unfortunate with the weather. The hotel location and the newly renovated room made up for less than attentive personnel and level of service. However, the amenities are rather basic - small pool (sea too rough for swimming), no kids club, public lounge quite small, wifi very slow, our sheets were not changed […] once yet we spent 5 nights, to have your room cleaned you need to display a sign or else it won't happen, long wait in coffee lines as there is only one coffee machine in the cafeteria for 140 rooms and there is no other way to get coffee, etc. The New Year's party was a disorganised affair, with chaotic meal service and entertainment that bordered on the ridiculous (New Year's speech by the Russian President broadcast by the pool for all guests regardless of nationality!). I was on business and stayed 5 nights. One of my priorities for my stay was a decent internet connection, and on the Coral Strand Hotel's website it clearly stated that each room had a high speed wi-fi connection, so I decided to stay there. However, this was not the case at all and the only internet connection available was around the reception or […] poolside area, and this was far from high speed ~ more akin to a slow dial-up connection. Very disappointing and inconvenient, although not so much if you're on holiday. There were also nice new TV's in the rooms, but none of them worked at all. Not connected in any way. My air conditioning unit leaked masses of water everywhere and after 2 days was eventually moved to a different room where I found that the patio door was unlocked and without a key. I asked for a key and discovered that the old key had broken off and was lodged in the lock. Persistent requests to fix this resulted in nothing being done so was lumbered with an unsecure room for the last 2 days of my stay. Bad service. Lastly, there was a lot of construction noise every day. Everything else was fine though. Read more

Very friendly staff. Direct access to the best beach Mahe has to offer. Clean rooms. The food at the hotel is ok, the breakfast buffet is absolutely fantastic and they have a great Indian restaurant attached to it. There are other very good restaurants in walking distance of the hotel.

Hotellets beliggenhed er fantastisk. Fra pool-baren kan man se den smukkeste solnedgang. Men personalet på hotellet var en katastrofe. Det var nærmest umuligt at bestille noget at drikke, der var ingen som vidste noget omkring noget som helst. Og de var uhyggelige dovne. Vi blev vækket midt om natten, da de havde taget fejl af afrejsetidspunkt, så vores […] taxa kom kl5 am og ikke 5 pm. Fire gange måtte vi gøre opmærksom på, at lyset på værelset ikke virket. Vi var blevet oplyst i restauranten at der ville være bbq på stranden kl syv, men at vi skulle booke i receptionen. Vi talte med tre forskellige medarbejder i receptionen, som oplyste vi blot skulle være på stranden kl syv - booking var ikke nødvendigt. Kl syv stod vi på stranden men ingen bbq..... Der var ingen service på hotellet overhovedet! Men værelset var fint, dog kneb det lidt ned rengøringen af gulvet og vi fik ikke skiftet sengetøj, hvilket betød vi havde en del sand både på gulvet og i sengen- da det jo er et strandhotel. Nous étions quatre personnes et devions avoir deux chambres contigües : la montée d'escalier et l'ascenseur nous séparaient. La situation géographique de l'hôtel est bonne sauf qu'en février les vents soufflent fortement du nord-ouest ; résultat : mer très agitée et fort vent en continue; impossible de garder la fenêtre ouverte la nuit. Pas de chaise […] dans les chambres pour poser ses affaires ! Mais bonne nourriture et petits déjeuners copieux et variés. Par contre, nous avons trouvé peu admissible et anti commercial le fait de nous avoir facturé un supplément pour avoir gardé une chambre sur deux jusqu'à 17 heures (avec l'accord de la réception). Bonjour, l'hotel est sympa, posé directement sur la plage, pour ma part j'occupait une suite junior (Qui au passage ne fait pas 48m² comme indiqué sur hotel. com mais 28m²). Il y a des activités nautiques, la plage est belle et propre, il y a un maitre nageur. Par contre les restaurants et self sont plus que bof, il y a le restaurant indien qui est […] pas trop mal. Le service dans les restaurants n'est pas terrible, tres peu serviable et une attente interminable. D'ordre général le service au seychelles n'est pas terrible. Attention, il n'y a pas de service en chambre, donc pour dîner il faut impérativement descendre aux restaurants. Pour finir donc, une note plutot moyenne compte tenu du prix (Suite junior 230€). Efter ganska lång väntan visades vi till ett ok standardrum. Ok fram tills de drog igång festen på nedre plan. Ingen ljudisolering och när man förtvivlad på småtimmarna sa att vi behövde sova så visades det tydligt att det var de som betalat för att ha fest (alltså inte hotellgäster) som prioriterades. När de hade tredje festen på fyra dagar så hade […] vi äntligen fått nytt rum och stördes inte så farligt. Efter mycket tjafs fick vi lite kompensation på slutnotan, och enda anledningen att helhetsintrycket blev 2 och inte 1 var utöver hotelläget endast managern som var den enda av hotellpersonalen vi träffade som inte var helt inkompetent. Några enstaka servitriser (ffa på den indiska restaurangen) var bra men i övrigt så tillhörde det det normala att man fick hämta sin egen meny, gå till baren och beställa, etc, trots att 3-4 av personalen kunde stå och dansa/prata/sjunga vid baren utan att bry sig om gästerna. Vi tog halvpension - STORT misstag. Indiska maten var ok men man blev ganska på den snabbt. Den andra restaurangen var upplyst som en allmän toalett, akustik som en grotta och usel mat med matchande service. Det förlåtande med hotellet var det fantastiska läget, den rena och vackra stranden. Poolen ok men mycket hårt klorerad. Alldeles för få solstolar. Bra läge, lätt att promenera runt i området. Kontentan är att jag gärna kommer till samma område igen men kommer aldrig någonsin boka det här hotellet igen. Read more

In our second room there was a blocked drain in the shower. L'Hotel était en plein travaux de rénovation : installation de carrelage auprès de la piscine, du bar de piscine,de l'entrée sur la réception, avec une trentaine d'ouvriers qui sciaient des carreaux (4 scies électriques en meme temps !!) de 8h du matin à 10h du soir !!!! Travaux de toiture au dessus de la réception (clouage de planches et bardeaux).Peinture […] et travaux électriques dans le lobby !! Va-et-vient incessant dans le lobby de brouettes, d'ouvriers, camions à l'entrée, poussière, parking inaccessible car aussi en travaux..Tout ce vacarme au pied des chambres ! Beaucoup de clients demandaient leur transfert immédiat....La chargée de communication nous a assuré que les travaux finissaient le soir meme, ce qui s'est avérré faux, les 3 jours de notre séjour n'ont pas vu la fin de ces travaux et le directeur de l'hotel ne s'est pas montré ! Scandaleux d'acceuillir des clients en plein travaux , pour un 4 étoiles ! Le restaurant d'à côté a fait venir la Police pour constater le bruit à 20h . Le personnel était honteux de ces conditions faites aux clients, la Direction (russe) était inexistante et montrait ainsi son total désintérêt des clients.... Jag och min sambo stannade initialt på Coral 5 nätter och reste därefter runt på andra öar för att sedan återvända 2 veckor senare för ytterligare 2 dagar på Coral. Vid första besöket var vi mycket nöjda. Hotellet erbjuder fina, om än något små rum, men fräscha och rena rum. Frukostbuffén var klart överlägsen andra hotells frukostar under resan på Seychellerna […] och hotellets snack bar erbjöd god mat och personalen var genomgående trevlig och tillmötesgående. När vi sedan återvände var hela poolområdet avstängt och hela hotellet präglades av omfattande renoveringsarbete som pågick från 7-17 varje dag, vilket inte framgick vid bokningen. Varmvattenberedaren gick sönder utan att vi blev varse detta missöde. Kände oss såklart djupt besvikna över detta och lämnade givetvis feedback på det men upplevde inte att personalen hade möjligheten att möta vår besvikelse på ett tillfredsställande sätt. Sammanfattningsvis är det ett bra hotell med bra läge mitt på stranden, bra frukostbuffé och bra restaurang med fräscha och rena rum, MEN där det just nu pågår ett minst sagt omfattande renoveringsarbete som påverkar hela hotellet och stör omgivningarna och eftersom de flesta rummet är lokaliserade med balkong mot själva arbetet störs även nattsömnen av arbetet, vilket inte nog kan poängteras om man är intresserad av hotellet.
