Very impressed with kind and helpful staff and service, nothing was too much trouble whenever we needed help or advice. Good cleaning service. Bright cheerful reception area. Good evening entertainment. 1 minute to shops, 5 minutes to sea front, and next door to bus station ( for easy excursions and travel ). Excellent value for money.
A poor choice for a hotel, with small rooms that have very small bathrooms with toilets very near to the sink. A restaurant with poor food and even worst wine that is very expensive for the quality. The staff is kind, but with no knowledge of english except for the people from reception. I cant recommend it.
3 star hotel, in the center of Lloret de Mar. Very good location, close to shopping, restaurants and discos. But a little bit far away from the beach. We didn't like the room, that we've got on the day of arriving, so asked for changing the room and nice lady on reception solved the problem. Can not say, that the hotel rooms are on a high level, but for 3 star hotel -ok. You get the services, you pay for( value for money). Food is very good, a lot of various dishes. In the evenings hotel guests can dance in the hall of the hotel, almost every day there is a live music. Shiny weather 23-29.09, from 30.09 rainy and not warm anymore. I' m not sure that we'll be back to this hotel again, but for people who don't want to pay for expensive hotel this option is pretty good:)
P.S. The rooms are not air conditioned, it was not a problem for us in September, but probably in summer it's too hot..
Recently travelled here for a week from the UK with a group of aged 30-40something girlfriends.
I didn't encounter a single British person the whole week as the resort is predominantly German & Scandinavian which was also reflected at the hotel.
The situation is good, close to the nightlife but not right on the strip & only a short walk for shopping or to the beach. The section of beach down by the strip is quite young but a bit further up is quieter & better for families with some nice restaurants.
We arrived on a Wednesday & the first 2 nights were fine although the noise levels certainly increased over the weekend but then quietened down a bit post weekend.
I would recommend you take some good ear plugs as with no air conditioning you tend to sleep with the doors open & are subject to the 'drunken post club walk home' at around 4.30am. Easily sorted with the ear plugs.
The room was clean (and kept clean daily throughout our stay), averagely furnished although there were only 2 plug sockets...tricky when using a fan (a necessity without any air con although cheap to hire from reception), trying to dry your hair & charging 2 mobile phones all at the same time.
Go careful not to drop anything on the balcony as I lost a flip flop down to the pool area & an ash tray rolled off & smashed on the pathway beneath because there's a gap between the floor & the rail! Something I noticed about a lot of the hotels in Lloret.
Breakfast was good, a good buffet selection & a slight variation on the hot food some days.
Not sure about chorizo sausages for breakfast mind you!
Bar drinks were cheap although it seemed there were sometimes limited staff & a bit of a wait to get served but the bar/reception area was quite big & lots of places to sit.
Staff were always polite & helpful.
Free wifi in the bar/reception area but not in the rooms.
I didn't use the pool area, although our balcony overlooked it. There were only approx 8 sunbeds, all of which were used most days & 2 sides of the pool quite shady but the pool was pretty quiet most days & there was a small area outside to sit & have a drink.
I would say it's an average basic hotel, that does what it says on the tin pretty much.
If you're not looking to spend much time in the room it's ok although it could definitely do with updating with air con.
Some of the reviews are negative about this hotel but we have just had a wonderful week here. Our room was big , bed was comfy ,had a decent size balcony . Fairly basic no hairdryer and only two plug sockets no fridge but had a safe which cost €20 plus €10 deposit refundable. No air conditioning which could be a problem in hot months , hotel has central heating for winter stays . All the staff work hard to make your stay enjoyable . Drinks are very reasonable in the bar with plenty of entertainment. Near to old town and not far from beach. For what we paid , we would recommend Hotel Mundial Club and would certainly come back.
I booked at The Mundial Club Hotel with a little caution after reading various reviews on here. However I can safely say I am glad I followed through with the booking. The hotel was great and not too noisy as many people have been complaining about. Lloret in September had a healthy mix of young and older visitors and is a place for all ages. Aside from the clubbing strip the beach and surrounding areas are family friendly and simply beautiful. Staff went out of their way to accommodate any of our needs and to ensure we were happy throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis and was a decent size with a sun terrace on the 6th floor. The decor is a little outdated but the same has to be said for the majority of the hotels and apartments withing Lloret. Breakfast was always ample and catered for everyone. The pool and pool bar are also a great addition. Contrary to much of the moaning on here the rooms are all air conditioned and also come with balconies. The pool is small but we spent more time on the beach which is a 5 minute walk rather than spending the days sat in the hotel. The lobby has free and reliable wifi and plenty of sofas for relaxing as well as a pool table and a tv room. I would definitely recommend this hotel and Lloret to people of all ages and don't let anyone's comments on here put you off booking!
Friendly and helpfull personnel, the restaurant was clear and had plenty of room. The room was clean and there was enough space to 'live'. Nice and quiet location. Busstop was a 5 min walk, breakfast buffet offered a lot of choice
We just got back. Food was good, full English & continental for brekky, cold and hot buffet's @ lunch & dinner. Staff are super busy multi-taskers, so some can be a bit short with you. definitely 3*, could have done with a re-paint in our room.
The pool was small but adequate for us. Nicely shaded in parts so you can sit and read or jump in and catch the sun.
No air con in August in a noisy part of town wasn't good. Ear buds solved that problem so we could keep the balcony doors open to avoid suffocation and sleep deprivation!
It's close to all the bars, neon glitz, clubs and super cheap eateries so if that's your thing you'll love it. At night, one side of the main street in town leading to the sea front is jammed with crowds of 18-30's. primarily Spanish, German and French. Hardly any Brits.
Best parts we found for eating out and exploring are near the sea front and side streets off it. Check out Orient Express if you want a friendly Brit face and good food. They also speak 5 other languages I think.
For a 3 star spanish hotel the Mundial club hotel is not bad at all. The rooms are small but clean and nicely decorated, there is no option for aircondioning, fridge or kettle for your stay but they are perfectly nice.
The restaurant breakfast was standard and fine, the staff friendly and helpful.
The only real problem with the hotel is it is not really built for all inclusive so when a party of 40 german teenagers turned up on an all inclusive package they took over the whole hotel- bar, restaurant and all general social areas including the tiny pool all day which really impeeded on everyones stay.
As for Lloret de Mar, as me and my mate said on leaving the best part had been we were so near to the bus station we could leave everyday day and visit the spanish costa brava! It is dirty, unbelievably loud and full of macdonalds, burger king and awful nightclubs and bars..... if your looking for a clubbing and drinking holiday its the place to go but if your looking for some rest, relaxation and culture it is most definitely NOT. Lloret is a drunken mess from dusk till dawn and not our cup of tea for a girly holiday! Been kept awake every night but roudy loud drunk teenagers is just draining both inside the hotel and the roudy amusement park right over the road........
Have come back from Lloret this morning after staying at the mundial hotel, this was our second stay at this hotel, but oh dear how noisy is it. Surrounded by 3 roads that are used as a rat run, a child's funfair right outside your balcony, and so many youngsters using the road to get to and from the night clubs it is not the ideal place to stay if you want a quite time. The hotel lets itself down by not having air con and as its so noisy you cannot keep balcony door open, it also does not have ironing facillities which I found a bit odd, so ended up buying a travel iron. Apart from me, my husband and mum there was no other English.Would I go back to lloret No, would I stay at this hotel again, No.
