In the pretty ghastly piazza Garibaldi but near transport links and to sites in the centro storico. Beautiful, comfortable and above all quiet bedrooms. Great staff.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 5, 2009
We had a horrible experience with this hotel for 1 major and 1 minor reason. Minor reason - in room internet does not work with Macs. They know this (though they didn't mention it until I went to the desk for the 3rd time trying to figure out the problem). For a business traveller this is a pain but potentially bearable. The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning in the room. It was cooler in the hallways and often cooler outside than in the room! They supposedly have a room-controlled system but I think it was just a decoy. You can only adjust the temp by 3 degrees in either direction. Which would be fine if the system actually supplied cool air. Air goes on for 1 minute and then shuts off, not enough time to cool down a hot room. After 2 sleepless nights I asked for another room (they hadn't offered this) but it was just as hot. One person at the desk finally said that the system is programmed to only go 4 degrees cooler than the outside temperature. That means if it's 90F (32C), which it was in May, your room at best is 86F (30C). They tried to tell me the temp was fine for them and it was just me. But laying prefectly still in bed with no sheets on and still sweating is not fine.

I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was fantastic and the terrace is a great asset. We had a great time just having some wine with a view of the city. Although the area around was a bit rough, it is very central and really good value for money.

The hotel itself was very nice, but the neighborhood was not. You could not walk to a restaurant at night, so you either had to pay cab fare or eat at the hotel. Hotel restaurant was good, but more than we would have spent if we could have walked to a restaurant. Surrounding neighborhood was definitely a negative.

The hotel is beautiful, completely renovated. The room was big, and had a huge new bathtub. The staff is great, very helpful with my local trip planning. The breakfast was at the high end of 4*. The location, near both railway stations, couldn't be more convenient for day tripping around the Bay of Naples and Pompeii. The only downside is that even triple glazing on the windows doesn't quite completely shut out the street noise of the busy Piazza Garibaldi. However, I successfully used the room fan to "white out" the street noise.

The Una Hotel is situated centrally in Naples directly opposite the main rail station. It is modern, stylish and very comfortable. Our rooms were stylish and decorated in a minimalist style. Although the Piazza outside is busy, the double-glazed and shuttered windows kept external noise intrusion to a minimum.

Reviewed by James of Lynchburg on Oct 29, 2008
The staff was courteous. Rooms were very modern and pleasant with effective windows that buffered out street noise. Its seemed to be a popular hotel for business people. The location is across from the train station and has a typical amount of urban messiness out on the street that one would expect. The hotel has a nice roof deck for having a drink and the restaurant was good and reasonably priced for a hotel. Breakfast was included. There is a computer in the lobby for in internet access. Otherwise, the neighborhood is safe(contrary to all the advice about pickpockets)and bustling with human activity, great little local restaurants. Naples seemed like a university town because of all the young people. The buses will take you all over town. Its about 10 mins to the airport for 12.50 euros the Hotel says is the charge although the taxi driver tried to extort more out of us than the 15 euro we paid once we got there.

location very convenient to the train station. Despite being on the very noisy & brighty lit Piazza Girabaldi, the heavy shutters on our balcony kept the room quiet and dark for sleeping. Also located near Pizzeria Trianon- the margherita DOC pizza is fanatastic.

Although in a rather noisy dirty section of Naples, it is very convenient to shopping transportation and restaurants. Accomodations were superb. The rehab of an old hotel has created a real visual masterpiece. Extremely nice bathroom. Great roof bar. All staff were very helpful and nice.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Naples. The roomes are great value for the money, and breakfast at the rooftop terrace is excellent. Only problem could be the location, but I didn't have any bad experiences at all. Most good restaurants and shopping is in the other end of town, but within walking distance. Highly recommendable - I would definately stay here again if I return to Naples.
