"Great location and price"
The Helms is a very nice hotel located walking distance from the Inner Harbor. The room was cllean, comfy, and very well laid out. The only thing I would improve on is the pillows, they are too soft for me. Overall I would recommend to anyone and would stay again, but I'd bring my own pillow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet and comfortable"
Have stayed here many times and love the quiet neighborhood feel. Close to the Provincial Museum and totem park, an easy walk from the ferry. Helpful staff who recommended eating places and allowed us to check in early after a morning arrival by ferry. Breakfast places 2 blocks away that were quite good but the option of having even a continental breakfast […] at the hotel would have been nice. Will stay here again! Great location! Five min. Walk from inner harbor. Across the street from Beacon Hill Park. Modern, clean and very comfortable with kitchenette.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were pleasantly surprised as to how nice, clean, convenient and friendly this reasonably-priced Inn was. We walked from the Seattle Clipper easily to the Inn - and could walk everywhere from there as well. The Beacon Hill Park (kitty-corner from the Helms Inn) is a lovely place for an early morning or late afternoon stroll. We will definitely come […] again and encourage our friends as well. "Excellent Location for Reasonable Price"
I was really pleased for the location of the Helms Inn. It is very close to the harbor and the Museum of British Columbia, as well as a large municipal park. The facilities themselves (at least our room) were in very good condition. My biggest complaint is what can only be described as the bizarre location of our room. There were plenty of rooms located […] in more "traditional" parts of the hotel. Ours was located right off the lobby. The door to our room was sandwich in between the public bathroom and the lobby vending machines. It really limited our privacy. We had been concerned about noise, but it turned out not to be an issue. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, great service."
Helms Inn, Greetings and thank you. Your Hotel was just lovely, and we could walk to all the "Hot" spots, right from our room. We plan to visit again next year. Again, thank you for a wonderful stay. Sincerely, The Olson'sGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient to downtown and the park."
Very kid friendly staff and a good family stay. Beacon Park is just across the street, the RBC Museum is in the back yard and and downtown starts a block away. Victoria is great for families- lots of kid activities. Helms Inn staff were very nice, the room amenities were apartment-like and everything was clean and fresh. THe only downside is the age […] of the buildingings. They're very well maintained, but the walls and floor/ceilings were old style thin. The first night and morning were a bit noisy overhead, but the rest of our stay was fairly quiet. With our 4 and 5 yr old boys in the room, I hope our neighbors thought the same. "Very convenient location"
Very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had the smallest size room. It was a little cramped. Had a king bed, kitchen with 2 burner stove, small refrigerator, sink, and dishes. Hotel is in a great location, 2 blocks from the inner harbor, next to the BC Museum and Beacon Hill park, and walking distance to many restaurants and shops.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, friendly staff"
My wife and I stayed for three nights prior to heading to Vancouver for Canada Day. First off, the location is perfect. It's right across the street from a large park, and within easy walking distance to the waterfront, and downtown areas, along with being a block from the Royal BC Museum and the buses to Butchart/etc. The staff was very friendly, and […] they easily dealt with a problem with our reservation dates. Although it's an older building, the room had newer furnishings. It was much larger than we expected, with a king bed and small kitchen. The only minor complaints I have are that the bed was only moderately comfortable, and the showerhead was one of those old designs which don't spread the water very well (and tend to waste water). Overall, though, a great place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to major attractions"
We stayed at the hotel for three nights. We were pleasantly surprised by its location – it was close to major attractions and bus stop (so we took a bus from Tsawwassen ferry terminal and to Butchart Gardens as we traveled without a car). Our room had full kitchen and nice view at the park.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely quiet and convenient hotel"
My husband and I took the ferry and bus to Victoria, no car. This hotel was a quick 2 blocks from main charter bus station in town. It is 5 min walk from Parliament Building and downtown Victoria. It's on a quiet beautiful street. They have free coffee and tea and apples in lobby. The kitchen was great as we ate several meals in our room. There was […] a table with four chairs and separate sleeping room from living/kitchen area. There is a full grocery store about 12 min walk and we loaded up on breakfast and dinner foods. We had a toaster, microwave, stovetop, and toaster oven as well as coffee machine. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again. The fixtures were a little dated, but clean and functional. It is a great home base for exploring the lovely Vancouver Island. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
What a pleasant surprise this place was! Great location easy walking distance to the wharf/downtown but in a quiet residential area. We were concerned when we saw our room was off the driveway and sort of in the basement but inside, a gem with wood floors, nice kitchen, separate living and sleeping with door that closed! Couch in front room converted […] to bed. The four of us were very comfortable and only regretted we did not stay longer! Excellent value! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Helm's Inn a Great Choice!"
Location, location, location, plus great amenities. Walking distance to ferry, downtown Victoria, and Beacon Hill Park, and Thrifty Food Market (nice!). Would definitely stay here again! Room choices with two double beds or a king, plus a kitchenette and tiny patio. Only negative was that the "living room" was a bit dark, and the pillows not terribly […] comfy. Minor issues compared to the over all quality and great price ($118 night). Service with a smile and sense of humor. Got everything I requested online- two rooms adjacent to each other on the first floor of middle building near the back- quiet location. I researched heavily on TripAdvisor and was not disappointed! "Nicely renovated inside - friendly staff"
Great value in a great location. Although the hotel is older, it has been recently renovated inside, so my room and the front lobby were really nice, more like a 4 star hotel. It could use some refreshing on the outside, but overall I was quite pleased, given the cost compared to other choices.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location, especially for the price."
This hotel is located on the same block as the Royal B.C. museum, within walking distance of the local attractions. For the location, the price is very hard to beat. The facilities and staff were great, though the room was a bit cramped. Kitchenette includes basic dishes and cooking utensils. Again, unbeatable for its price.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Clean, Big, Comfortable place to spread out"
This hotel was nice, the greeting staff were very nice, courteous and helpful. The room was great, big. Small kitchenette, dining table and chairs, reading leather chairs, and a comfy king sized bed. Some things are a little out dated but it is not noticeable as they go well with the cottage decor. Would much rather stay here than the Executive, or […] Bed ford Regency. "Great for the Price"
Close to all the sights in Victoria. At first glance, Helm's Inn looks a little seedy, but the inside was in good condition. The lobby looked like it had been updated recently and so did parts of the room. The room with beds was a little cramped, but definitely great for the price. Would book again and recommend to friends and family.Genuine Expedia guest review

I arrived on the ferry from Port Angeles in the morning and headed straight to the hotel. I have stayed at Helm's Inn twice and have been very pleased both times. The location is perfect for walking downtown, to the park, to the beach, or just around the beautiful neighborhoods. "Well located in Victoria"
Staff attentive, friendly and accommodating. Small intimate feeling. All special requests made when booking the room were honored. Well located. Reasonable walk from Victoria Clipper dock but a bit of a challenge if you have substantial luggage (Taxi fare-$7.50). Close to Inner Harbor, near down town district, auto rental agencies a couple blocks away […] and across the street from Beacon Hill Park with beautiful trails to the eastern island shore. "Beautiful room and great location!"
This hotel was really a pleasant surprise. I took the ferry from Seattle to Victoria and this hotel was so conveniently located that I could walk to everything. The room was very large with a full kitchen so I could eat in if I chose to do so. I loved it and would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
As others have mentioned, this was really a great find! So close to everything, yet quiet. Best of all were the beds - they were so comfortable - even the rollaway! It is very unusual for this family to find sleeping arrangements that are as good as home! The space was ample for our family of 4 (including two 'adult' children)! The kitchenette fully […] enabled us to cook breakfast each day. The only thing we would have wanted was an extra mirrored area/desk/table for someone to use while others are using the washroom! Great location, one block from Royal BC Museum; 2 blocks from harbor; walking distance to restaurants, shopping and activities. Room was very dated except for kitchen which was modern and new. "Beyond our expectations"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Helms. The hotel across the street was full so we booked at the Helms for a lower rate expecting less.
