The Hotel/Suites were a great bargain but the actual location was a dump. The Bums an Beggars are everywhere. This part of Monteal should be called "Piss Town". Next time I will stay further west on St. Catherine. It costs more but it'll be worth it. I feel sorry for the hotel, if the cops did their job and cleaned up the scum from the area, it really could be a great place to stay.

Pretty good for the price - the kitchen was useful and the bathroom was v clean. The street it's on is a bit seedy, but other than that, it's a good location, walking distance to Old Montreal and Le Village and a short cab ride to the nightlife to St. Laurent and the shopping downtown. Overall a good deal!

We stayed for just one night and Les Suites Labelle met our needs admirably. The location is great - very close to all the cafes and restaurants of Rue St. Denis, and a 10 minute walk from the Old City and the river. The room was clean, comfortable and a decent size, and the kitchenette was more than we expected - fridge, microwave and a two-ring stove, with basic dishes, cups etc. The parking garage was 'tight', and I think $15 for overnight is a bit steep, but not outrageous. Don't be put off by comments about the neighborhhod - it seemed harmless enough to us.

Two blocks from train station. Bed was comfortably enough (not a fluffy bed or anything, but good enough for a couple of nights). Mini kitchen was great to bring stuff from restaurants and market. Will probably stay again, rate was very good for the area.

This hotel is a pretty nice, small hotel in downtown Montreal. It is very close to the Berri metro station which makes it very easy to get around the city. However, it is within walking distance to St. Catherine's street, which provided enough entertainment--I only used the metro once during my stay. This is a great place for younger crowds who are looking to explore the nightlife in Montreal because a ton of good bars, restaurants and clubs are within walking distance. The room was also very spacious and fit me and three of my friends comfortably. Overall, the hotel was very satisfactory and the location ended up being perfect for my stay.

We stayed at this hotel due to the price and the fact that breakfast was included each day. The hotel was easy to find although not the best location. You do have to treat through the "not so great" parts of St. Catherine Street to get to any shopping there but overall wasn't too sketchy. The hotel also offers a terrace on the 9th floor and a wonderful breakfast including some hot items. Internet is only available in the lobby as a weak signal and the hotel provides two computers for common use. I would think you could obtain the password to log on from your room however the signal was weak on the 3rd floor where we stayed. The staff was very helpful with any request or directed us to the nearest location. The hotel is walking distance to two metro stations and extremely convenient to use especially if you get a Tourist Pass. The room was smaller but did include a kitchette in the price. The bedding was outdated but the bed was otherwise comfortable. The room suited us for our trip and was clean. Parking is tight and limited. Get there early if you can and you will be able to park on one of the two floors available. No elevator is provided from the garage and parking was $15 a day...the hotel staff does inform you to take your luggage out before parking. I have a small car and even exiting I was nervous about hitting the cement walls...just shows how tight it is.

I am 27 and if you like to party, there is definitely a lot to do in this area. Clubs (dance and strip) are close and fun. The hotel itself was clean, there is an underground parking garage that had good security (pass code entrance and gated). The staff was very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to truly experience the heart of Montreal.

Pros: Location, Cleanliness Cons: Small garage, dim lighting in the bathroom, workout room. My experience is a bit skewed. In the past, I had stayed at the St. Andre (2 streets over). I will definitely choose Labelle Suites over the Andre, in the future. There were fewer junkies/ homeless people; not that they bother passersby much, but it was nice not seeing as many at night! For the price, this hotel was fine. It is mere steps from the Metro and St. Catherine’s St. We had no problems with hot water and the front desk staff was quite friendly. The breakfast while minimal, was free. Again, it was fine. Besides, you are in Montreal. If you want a real meal, just walk up to Saint Catherine’s. The only drawbacks I noticed were: -The parking garage is INCREDIBLY small. My friend was able to get a Cadillac down there; but if you have an SUV, I suggest you look into finding a garage nearby. -The fitness room was a joke. It has 3 cardio machines and 3 weight machines. The A/C is hard to reach. Also, it is right across from their conference room, which stinks for any conference attendees.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was 1 block from the metro and an easy walk to much of the nightlife. However, the street the hotel itself is on is quiet and can seem a little spooky. We parked in the hotel garage and then just used public transit or walked everywhere. The parking situation can get very cramped on weekends and be a challenge to maneuver. Be aware that you should unload heavy luggage before parking, as there is no elevator in the garage and it costs extra (on top of the regular parking fee) to park on the first level. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: it was much more varied than we were expecting, and it was available for much of the morning, allowing us to sleep in more :) In terms of room comodities, the kitchenette appeared brand-new. In retrospect, we wish we would've taken advantage of it more, as eating out every meal for a week became exhausting. There is cable TV, but no option for ordering movies or a DVD/VCR player. All the staff we had contact with were very pleasant and helpful and were fully bilingual.

The receptionists at the hotel were hit or miss - some were incredibly nice and helpful while others would turn and go into the back room as soon as they saw anyone approach the desk. On our morning at this establishment, there was no hot water. None. My boyfriend and I had to take cold showers. When we went down to ask the desk about it, the only response we got was that it was 'normal' when a lot of people were taking showers at the same time and that there was nothing they could or would do about it. In addition, the hotel's statement that guests need to be over 21 years of age to check-in is simply a lie (as are the signs that the hotel is a 'non-smoking hotel'). There were groups of teenagers staying there over the weekend who were obnoxious and roudy. Two of these 'guests' got bored on our second afternoon and randomly started knocking on the doors of random rooms and then ran away when people would answer (they also took to prank calling guests' rooms; as we didn't know what room they were staying in, we were unable to place a complaint with the front desk). In addition, we were greeted by the nauseating smell of cigarette smoke every afternoon when we got off of the elevator to go to our room. The only efforts the hotel made to alleviate the smell of cigarettes was to spray a cheap air freshener throughout the hallway. Overall, it was a horrible experience. I felt like I was walking on eggshells to avoid the obnoxious clientele, and I was very annoyed at the deceptive advertising of the hotel: the claims of being a non-smoking establishment requiring 21+ patrons are incredibly deceptive.

The two keys for me were the proximity to the metro (1 block) and the garage parking included with my room. As other reviewers have noted, getting into and out of the garage is a bit dicey, but I really appreciated not having to worry about paying for parking or scraping ice off my windshield. The room was clean and functional. It wasn't anything special, but it was perfectly adequate for me.
