"Close to metro and bus"
Easy home base for sightseeing. Easy to access public transport. Was in Montreal for a conference, and the Palais convention center is about 15 minutes away by foot. Very clean and comfortable, surrounding neighborhood somewhat sketchy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good option, everything you want"
The price was right, the place was perfectly nice, and I loved that the continental breakfast included Montreal bagels-- Yum! I have no complaints about this place. It was clean, nice staff, comfortable beds, free wi-fi, nice showers. We even had a little kitchenette area in our room which I wasn't expecting. The room was quite large and quiet. "clean, but don't expect to sleep on the sofabed"
The location was great. We had a suite and I thought the layout was great, like a small apartment. The service was so-so. We asked for a microwave in our room at check-in, the man at the front desk said it would be right up but it never came. The kitchenette does have a full stove and refrigerator. My mom was annoyed that one of the burners didn't work, […] but only one out of three. The sofabed was a big problem; it folded out at a ridiculous slant, and was completely uncomfortable. I visit Montreal with my mother and young son every year and I think the sofabed might be the one thing that sends us looking for a different hotel next year. Parking was a pain. Breakfast was great; real french pastries still warm from the oven, fresh-baked bread for toasting, really strong coffee, etc Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Roberval in montreal, Canada"
Close to all the restaurants, shops nightlife of downtown Montreal. it was clean, had a nice complimentary breakfast and the bed and room conditions were very adequate. The people spoke English well, so we had no problem with them meeting our needs and questions. Dont' bring a big SUV to their parking as it is low and underground. The back streets are […] narrow and busy in Montreal's big city atmosphere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient Hotel - Great Staff"
We just needed somewhere to sleep while visiting Old Montreal for a couple days with another couple and this Hotel worked quite well. It was the perfect location for touring the area on foot. It was also near St. Catherine's with tons of restaurants. The staff was wonderful - especially great with helping us find the various places we wanted to visit. […] Their English was quite good - much better than our French!!. Breakfast was good enough to get us going. They kept the area very clean and well stocked. Our room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. Loved having the fridge in the room too. It's located on a main street but having a GPS really helped to find it. The only negative was that the affiliated parking garage ($17/day) was very scary because of the turns going into it but we made it in and out with no damage to the car - fortunately - but it's way too close, even for a medium size car. I would suggest finding another place to park your car. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great bargain hotel"
This hotel is perfect for budget travelers. No frills, but a clean, nice sized room that was comfortable and in a perfect location. On the UQAM campus, a block away from the metro station and right in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Walking distance to all of the bars/restaurants on St. Denis, Saint Laurent, and St. Catherine. Average continental breakfast […] (with terrible coffee) included. Parking is available for an extra $15 a night, but in an impossibly small underground parking garage three levels down: not for the faint of heart. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A good family hotel close to old Montreal"
I reserved a suite (2 rooms w/queen size beds and a sleeper sofa. They had us in the basement with tiny windows way up looking out on the sidewalk. I immediately went to the reception and asked for a better location but same room. They had another one available on ground floor. Much nicer, same kind of layout. For the price I paid per night with continental […] breakfast included, that was a great deal for a good location, not far from "vieux Montreal". 3 blocks away from the oldest and only nice part of town. Breakfast was very decent and they kept bringing more food even 20 minutes before the end of breakfast time. Our room also had a fridge, sink, cook top, microwave. We didn't use it much but it could be nice with younger kids. Overall, I was satisfied but this isn't a luxury hotel by any means. It worked very well for us. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Le Roberval - Nice hotel - fantastic location"
My wife and I stayed two nights and were completely satisfied. The staff was friendly. The kitchenettes with refrigerator is a bonus. Parking is close, easy and relatively inexpensive ($15.00 per night). The breakfast is nothing special (canned fruit, standard pasteries), but it is free and served untill 11:00. The rooms are not fancy, but clean and […] seemed recently updated. The best aspect is the location. Very easy to get to driving up I-87 from the U.S. Walking distance to Downtown, Vieux Montreal and the restaurants and bars in the Plateau. And a block from a Metro hub for everything else. I'm not sure when I'll get back to Montreal, but when I do go back I'll stay at Le Roberval again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Roberval: Great suite for our family"
Traveling with a toddler, we like having two rooms and a kitchenette. This is hard to find on our budget. The Roberval met our needs for space, cost, comfort and location. Our room was perfect as the living room and bedroom were separated by a galley kitchen and bathroom. This allowed us to put our son to bed in the living room while we could still […] use the bathroom and bedroom without disturbing him. The room could have been cleaner - needed detailing. The tub drain was full of hair. Dining table was sticky and the corners under the cabinets were full of crumbs. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Our room only had one bedside table/reading lamp. [and the bulb was out when we arrived] The breakfast was sufficient and met our needs. Bread, croissants, muffins, cereals/oatmeal. Canned fruit, yogurt, juice/milk and coffee. We like toast with peanut butter, croissants, yogurt so we were satisfied. Staff should have recommended the side entrance that had a ramp and a luggage cart. We discovered it the day before leaving. On our arrival date, we were parked by it unknowingly, carried 9 pieces of luggage around the corner and up two sets of stairs. Then transferred it all in shifts to elevator as we were told there was no trolley/cart. The issue there was English/French with the staffer on duty. Other staffers were proficient in English through our stay. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to explore Vieux Montreal, the Latin Quarter and visit the Biodome. While we are from NYC, we were struck by the number of homeless folks across the street and down the block on St. Denis towards the river. There is quite a bit of tourist traffic coming and going from Vieux Montreal so it's busy and safety probably isn't an issue. Unfortunately, I was followed while pushing my son in the stroller for a couple blocks by a man yelling obscenities at me. I caught up with my husband and went into a store. However, I never felt unsafe coming and going from our immediate buildin Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the center of it all!"
I chose ths hotel based on its proximity to nightlife. I suppose I could have chosen somewhere a bit more upscale, however this place ticked all the boxes in my book! Located only two blocks from central Ste Catherine and all the fabulous restaurants, clubs and bars that this area has to offer - this hotel was a PERFECT jumping off point for all of […] my explorations of the city - honestly, I dont know what hotel could be much better! Staff was phenomenal. Also the nearby Berri Metro Station is basically the central station of the metro, so it can get you most places you need to go that are outside of walking distance. I recommend staying in the older section of the hotel, with its hardwood floors and exposed brick - it is a refreshing alternative to the typical hotel chains and most rooms have a balcony which is nice for fresh air. The acoutrements are limited, but you have a small kitchen in room which is helpful on longer stays. If I have the pleasure of visiting Montreal again (and I hope I do soon, because this city is AMAZING!!!!! Soooo much fun!!) then I will def. be staying at this hotel again, no contest. "Noisy first floor, no soundproofing"
Initially, the room looked dismal. Having paid a similar price on a different suite at a different hotel on previous visit, I was not too impressed on first glance. I did warm up to it (we did only stay one night). The staff was so friendly and helped us out from a tight spot. My biggest warning is that our room was on the first floor by the exit, right […] onto a busy street. All night there were drunken people stomping up and down the hallway, yelling to each other. The noise from the street outside was inconsequential to the traffic in the hallway outside our door. We didn't sleep much at all. If you stay, ask for a different room (NOT room 101). It was a comfortable stay. The breakfast could use a waffle maker!!! The staff are friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was with the noise on my floor. But other than that I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very basic room but centrally located."
Last minute trip to MTL for NYE. Rates were reasonable for this time of year. Very small hotel therefore small rooms. Double bed, tub/shower, fridge, mini kitchen (sink, counter, toaster). Rooms are clean but walls very thin. You can hear your neighbors and conversations in the hallway. One elevator, very slow, most people take the stairs. We spent […] 2 nights here there was no service performed on the room (I am unsure if this is regular procedure). Breakfast consists of coffee, tea, juice, toast, fruit salad, yogurt, pastries. Parking is across the street $15 per day underground. This lot not for the timid driver. 6 ft clearance, extremely confined with space for 9-11 cars. Staff is accommodating and friendly. Hotel is very centrally located. Walking distance to metro, restaurants and old port. Overall decent if your looking for a cheap stay in a clean room. "Quaint hotel with a perfect location."
We arrived earlier than the normal check in time and were pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to go straight to our room. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Very clean and tidy room, nice little kitchen area, newly renovated washroom. The breakfast was included. "Clean, Friendly Service"
Lovely motel with exceptionally friendly staff. The room was immaculately clean, with very comfortable beds. Double glazing on the windows helped dampen traffic noise, and it was less than 5 minutes to walk to the subway station that connected to most of the lines in Montreal. The breakfast was the usual - cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, toast, juice […] and coffee/ tea. Plentiful and fresh. Our only minor gripe was that there was only one washing machine in the guest laundry and it had a poor spin cycle, so drying clothes took a very long time. A very nice hotel for a budget traveler. Very neatly kept with all essential amenities included. As soon as we got in to the room, it smelled weird. Kind of like when you spray perfume on something that smells bad. Everything in the room LOOKED clean but somehow didn't FEEL clean. "4 night stay in double bed room"
Pro: Booking through Expedia went well, reservation was placed and hotel was ready. we were a total of 4 for 4 nights. Location was great as it was relatively close to the venue for the music festival we were attending. Location also right by the university which is right by the downtown core for clubs and restaurants. Con: Toilet smelled of urine upon […] entry but scent went away. only one mirror for the entire 2 bedroom. Refrigerator wouldn't keep cool. freezer was working as a refrigerator, food was spoiled and only noticed on day 3. Hotel website warned of the lack of parking due to construction, however the Expedia NOR the app version of the Roberval site showed this warning. Parking was a challenge but there was one lot near by at 15 dollars a day. if you are ok with being boxed in, you can keep your keys. had minor inconvenience trying to leave but it all worked out in the end. Detailed all of this to the front desk during checkout and they took note. all in all ok, but would want to try a different hotel next time we visit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Happy stay at Hotel Le Roberval"
I am a lady in my 60's and stayed in the hotel with my adult son in a two bedroom suite. We were staying in Montreal for a wedding and my son was absent quite a lot but I felt safe in the hotel on my own and also entering and leaving the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and living areas were spacious.I liked the fact that the windows […] could be opened and there was a little balcony. My son made use of the washing machine. Also appreciated was the buffet breakfast which was included in the price. My only negative comment is that the bathroom is small but it was clean and plenty of towels supplied. Also a mirror in the bedrooms would be added bonus. There was only one mirror in the bathroom and no full length mirror. My son also made good use of the computer and printer provided downstairs. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
