"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.
see all hotels in New YorkIt was perfect for us, location, right across Radio City, in walking distance to most of the sights in NYC. The room was clean, we had a fridg., microwave, coffee maker. WiFi was included, bathroom was clean and well lit. The resturant on the 7th. Floor was wonderful. The service was also great, check in was instantaneous as well as the check out. I […] would recommended this hotel very highly. The people at the front desk were courteous and well informed on places and how to get there. Read more

"Manhattan Centre Hotel - Good but not Great"
The hotel location is great as I do business at 30 Rock. Room was clean and functional. Drawbacks: My first to keys didn't authorize correctly - this was annoying as I checked in late at night and it took nearly an extra 30 minutes to get a key that worked. TV service is standard def, not high definition; elevators can be slow at peak times.
"Next to and above a bar..."
Was happy with the look, location and overall feel of the hotel until we returned to our room for the night and were greeted with the loud shouting and "frolicking" of bar-goers hailing cabs or just being loud outside the bar, 4 floors below our window.s

The heat in our room was broken and the maintenance man told us to stick our hand inside the heating system to turn it on and off. I called down and complained we were moved to a bigger room. All in all great location and the free bottle water was an added bonus.
"Excellent!"
Excellent hotel in the best location! We always stay here when we go to NYC. This is our 3rd time! 100% recommended!
Enjoyed our stay very much. We had a 3 year old with us and the concierge was very helpful with suggestions of things to do and places to eat that were not too far. Took a business card and it will be definitely our new place to stay.

Everything was perfect except the bed :(
"Poor front office service."
Poor front office service.
"Manhattan Centre Hotel- A Good Value & Nice Place"
Really satisified with the place. Only two things I can criticize, and one of them is not really under the Hotel's control. The mattress was really hard! Boy was it stiff! They have a park for $35/day deal with a local garage. If you go over by ONE minute on those 24 hours, the garage charges you an entire extra day! This sucks, but it's not the Hotels […] fault. "Manattan Centre hotel-nice place to stay."
The lobby is small but well done. The staff was effecient, friendly and hospitable. The standard room was small but well appointed, clean and modern. We would certainly return. Free bottled water. Actually water to refill your bottle. Nice eco touch.
"Manhattan Centre"
The hotel is very conveniently located by Rockefeller Center. Room Accommodations are fine, the elevators are crazy slow and the work out facility average but at least it is no extra cost. The worst part of the room, I had a room window facing 51st and the night noise was very loud. Johnny Utah's Bar is RIGHT next door. Between the constant honking […] and the crowd noise it was difficult to get a good night's rest. Read more

"Great Hotel - Unfriendly Front Desk"
This is a great little hotel in a very convenient and fun part of town. The Rock and St Pats are a block away. The only downside was the front desk. It was the most fake friendliness I have ever experienced. NY hotel folks are usually sincerely wanting to help make your experience a great one. Each time we approached the desk with a question I cringed […] - feeling like we had worn out our welcome after our initial entry and check in. The restaurant staff was the same. On the other hand, the housekeeping staff was very nice - very helpful. Read more
Spent a night at the Manhattan Centre Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The amenities were modern and the decor was very nice. Front desk provided helpful nearby dining selections. We would stay here again.
"In Need of a Goodnight Sleep"
The hotel's location was ideal however: 1) The bed was not comfortable. Hard as s rock! 2) The toliet is in a weird location in the bathroom 3) You could hear the chatter in the hallway at all hours 4) The airconditioner wasn't great. I would not recommend or stay there again!
"Nice Hotel, For the Most Part"
This hotel is safe, convenient and nice. However, if you arrive, or tend to go out later at night with children, i.e. an 8 o'clock play, etc. be prepared for drunk people outside the hotel. The Johnny Utah is also a bar and people late at night tend to hang out outside. When we arrived at around midnight, there were several drunk people outisde. They […] were very polite, but it is still not something you want to see with younger tweens. The hotel did not have a sign either, so it was a shot in the dark until we actually saw it. Also, parking was far away, which was tough on us. Good things, very close to a lot of the theatres. Also, close to FAO Schwartz, and American Girl. Everything we went to we walked, which was wonderful. On the whole, a nice place. Read more

"Manhattan Center Hotel"
Great place and great location!! Rooms are small but cozy and the food was excellent on the 7th story patio overlooking Rockefeller Center.. I found a new home in Midtown!!
"Excellent midtown Manhattan boutique hotel"
If you're tired of the big chain hotels and the highest priced big name Manhattan hotels, this little gem near Rockefeller Center is a terrific choice. Although a "boutique" hotel, its rooms are larger than the typical Manhattan postage stamps you find in hotels described that way. Everything is fresh, clean and simple. The staff says "hello." I will […] stay here again. Read more
"Excellent recommendation!"
I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel last week. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the standard room was small, but not too small and very adequate. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a small refrigerator and microwave in addition to the coffee pot in the room. They also offered free bottled water which was great! Location is […] excellent with a delicious bakery/deli right next door. I will definitely stay here on my next trip! Read more
"Manhattan Centre Hotel 11A West 51st St Over book"
I reserved a room at the Manhattan Centre Hotel days in advance of my stay on hotels.com, a few hours before my check in time I received an email telling me there was no room available and to call. I called and hotels.com did their best to find me a room, they put me up at the Radisson at 48th and Lexington. It is quite possible the worst room I have […] ever stayed in. It was dirty, noisy and run down. The bathroom ceiling had a rubber membrane stretched across it that was atttempting to hide the fact that plaster was falling from above. Through out the night there was a strange noise all night that ended being falling plaster hitting the rubber membrane. Not sure who to blame. Read more

"The Manhattan Centre Hotel close to 5ave..."
The location is perfect, rooms size are NY style, small but with the decoration in place, you don´t notice. Room furniture and bathroom look very new and very well keep. My 2 points that aren´t making this a 100% satisfaction, the "Reception or Check in area....to small" and at rush hour, it collapsed with people and not much space to sit or wait, They […] have 2 elevators. During my stayed , one of them was been repaired. THis generated a lot of traffic delays for all passengers...and hasd to use stairs a couple of times....for getting to lobby, not that bad...but for getting to room with luggage , suitcase or bags....heavy. Hopefully they can work on this. Read more
"Good location - great staff"
The hotel was located locally in Soho. The check in was great and the manager was super friendly. The room was pretty run down. Dirty wall paper and spotty carpet. However, the bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also clean. Breakfast had plenty of options. The free internet was a nice bonus.
"Loved it"
I love the location of this hotel. It's in a great location and walking distance to almost all the shops...I would definitately stay there again!!!!
"Hotel Manhattan Centre NYC"
Staff very helpful. Room clean. Great location for what I did. I would stay there again
"Very pleased!"
The hotel is very clean, great location and everything you need is super close we absolutely loved this location and thehotel was great too! Cannot wait to go back to NYC we will stay here again!
"ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS HOTEL!!!!"
I chose the Manhattan Centre because it my friend & I were participating in an event in Central Park & wanted to be nearby. Little did I know just how covenient EVERYTHING was in proximity of location. The hotel was tucked in a nice little corner the way most buildings in the city are & upon entering the lobby was the most pleasant gentleman willing […] to answer questions & assist my friend & I. Our room was impeccable. Very, tidy & clean smelling in the way that you know it was cleaned from the bottom up....no surface cleaning here. The room also accomodated two people very comfortably & did not feel cramped at all. And once again, even though there was a shift change, the staff was extremely gracious & helpful, very, very pleasant. On my next visit to the city that requires an overnight stay, I will most definitely book a room with this hotel again. Read more

"Manhattan Centre in New York"
Right by Times Square by everything, theatres, eating, and so convenient. Room clean, offered comp bottled water, Wireless internet never worked while we there, but they did have DSL hookup in room that worked. Parking is 4 blocks away, so that was not convenient nor cheap, but everything else was wonderful! Would recommend to anyone wanting to be close […] to midtown and theatres! Read more
"Conditional recommendation..."
It was OK overall and pretty good for the price. There's a loud bar next to it and a lot of thumping going on for a while, but it did subside. Room was clean and bed was comfortable, but no good place to put luggage. I used the desk in the room. I'd stay again in a pinch, but only if I couldn't find better deals.
"Well Done!"
The location is outstanding - whether you are in New York for business or pleasure. The room was a jewel box - well-planned, with bedside tables and a desk that made it easy to reach what you needed. I had a small-ish room (but that is expected in New York), but it was very clean with a lovely bathroom and great shower - a nice, hot shower is always […] important at the end of a long trip. "the Jewel in New York City"
great location very clean and quiet. only bad experience we reserved a suite and one wasn't available for us upon check in.
"Manhattan Centre Hotel"
I will keep this brief: LOVED my stay.
"Manhattan Centre Hotel not user friendly"
Having been assured of adjoining rooms by the Hotels.com person on the phone and then the hotel desk by phone, were given rooms on different floors. Upon complaint, were were given two rooms, not adjoining, on the second floor, which is noisy and unpleasant. The open supply room was across from one of our rooms, and the staff lounge was across from […] the other room around the corner, which has a heavy door that bangs open and closed all day and into the night. A desk staff acknowledged that it is not a desirable floor to be on but that it is often given to Hotels.com customers because they pay less. This makes booking through Hotels.com for this well located hotel a significant problem. Read more
"Manhattan Centre Hotel in NYC - a great stay."
The hotel was very nice. The room was as promised, and quite spacious for a NYC hotel room. We had a queen bed and a sleeper sofa for our son. We have only two complaints: 1) the hotel WIFI did not work well at all with our iOS devices (iPad and iPhones); 2) the bathroom did not have a fan, so the shower steam lingered and you did not have "privacy" […] when toilet sitting. Otherwise, we would go back again. Also, the hotel is also called the Club Quarters, so that can be confusing when trying to find it on a map or when asking around. It is right next to a steak house/bar, across from Radio City, and only a block from 30 Rock. Read more

Close to all must see sights! Great location, clean, and I would stay there again. I would rate the hotel a 4 out of 5
"Loved Mannahatten Centre Hotel-great room/location"
We had a really nice stay at the hotel. The location was great (across from Radio City Music Hall) as we planned the trip around going to see the Rockettes at 9:00 a.m. while there. The neighborhood was nice. Rooms/hotel lobby were clean/modern. I loved it. The rate was awesome. A great value. I would definitely stay there again.
"Expected more"
Location was great, service was great. The room was smaller than expected and the bed was quite worn and very slept in on one side to the point of distraction.
"Enjoyed my stay"
I came late and was welcomed with a free upgrade to a suite. My room was lovely and clean.
"Great Hotel - Excellent Location!"
I stayed at this hotel for business. It is right at the Rockefeller Center - close to Times Square. The hotel staff treated me as if I were a VIP! The little known secret of this hotel is the outdoor dining on the 7th floor. It wasn't advertised where I researched. You can dine outside even in the winter! They have heaters and a drop down wind cover. […] They held my luggage, due to a late flight and also arranged for a car to be at the hotel at my designated departure time. The room was neat, clean and larger than I expected from previous visits to NY. The only downside was the view from my hotel. I would have loved a street view rather than a view of the HVAC system and rooms across the way. However, I didn't spend much time at all in my room so, in reality, the view didn't matter. Great Hotel! I would definately stay again. Read more
The location of this hotel is perfect. Right across the street from Rock Center/Radio City. Room was clean & comfortable. Actually larger than expecting. Only very small complaint would be shower/tub very narrow.

"better than expected"
after reading other reviews i expected an unwelcoming committee, slow elevator, tiny room, etc. but was pleasantly surprised to find someone to welcome me nicely, helped withcomputer check in, and a quick ride to 16th floor, and a room while not huge was plenty large enough for me. Very nice room, actually, with great little bathroom, comfy bed and […] all around quite nice. I even had a pleasant welcome message waiting for me from the manager waiting when I arrived. Check out guy wasn't particularly nice, or helpful, and basically ignored me, saying to use the check out/computer system (as though everyone in the world would of course check out using a computer rather than a live person) but overall quite nice and next time, I'll know to use the computers for check in and check out. The restaurant was nice with outdoor option, food fine, nothing special, workout room small but fine, and water in hallways with bottles to fill and refill (green is a nice theme throughout the hotel stay) was great. I like how they emphasize not having to have towels washed every day/what a waste. I wash towels at home every couple of weeks - all they do is soak up clean water after all. Good place in central part of city. Read more
"Room was smelly, service not great"
I expect a NY hotel room to be small, yes. But, the smell in my room was overpowering of left over body odor. Though they were able to grant me an early check in (with a fee of course) as I sat waiting for a room to be ready, the front desk employees were chatting amongst themselves as if I weren't there. They were inappropriate and crude - - not great […] in front of guests. The restaurant is ok, service again not great. The only good thing was the location, right across the street from Rockefeller Center. You can likely find a better hotel room for cheaper. Read more
