This inn is more like a slightly spruced up motel. The location on the beach is very nice, not walking distance to any restaurants or bars so be prepared to drive. Much too expensive for the basic accommodations.

We rented the ocean view cottage for approx 13 days with intentions of cooking in. Only 2 out of the 4 burners worked on the stove with no real pots and pans to cook in either. We were staying in the building closest to the office building and on the first floor as the result of a package that I had arranged through expedia. The manager was very accommodating and agreed to move us to a different room when one became available on the 3rd night of our stay. That room was directly above the first room and was definitely an improvement. […] Although the grounds are very well kept, the lack of privacy in the type of room we rented was very disappointing. The noise level was high every morning with delivery trucks, garbage trucks and the occasional loud guest. Our view was of the roof of the office. The "balcony" was shared and not private. Loved the location, beach and pool. We had a beach front room and we were glad we chose that. Housekeeping could be a little more attentive. We didn't get a breakfast basket every day. But, that wasn't a ptoblem because there is so much in one. We really appreciated that amenity.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is on the beach. They put out umbrellas and beach chairs every day. Our room was on the second floor in the building that over looked the pool. There is a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink for the kitchenette. The "continental breakfast" was actually a basket with 2 packets of coffee, 2 danish, 2 bagels […] with cream cheese, 2 containers of orange juice, 2 fruit cups and jelly, sugar and creamer. On the last day, we found that they have washers/dryers and a grill. We would recommend this hotel and plan to return next December. Read more

I've stayed at three hotels on Sanibel. This was the best value for my stay with kids. The room was a little tight in the kitchenette, but clean and fairly quiet. The hotel is a short trek out to the private beach and provided beach chairs and umbrellas. I would definitely consider Seaside Inn again.

Enjoyed ourselves immensely . The Gulf Coast view from the room was beautiful . Strolling the beach. Older hotel but clean. Offerred lovely baskets for breakfast with juices, Danish, bagels , fruit. Bicycles available free - a nice way to get about Sanibel. Very friendly management.

I stayed here because of the rave reviews everyone gave the Sea Side Inn. When I pulled up to the hotel, at first glance I was thinking "looks a little older" .... I assure you, the rooms are great! We had one of the cottages and couldn't have been more pleased with the comfort, cleanliness and decor. Ok, so the place is a little older looking on the […] outside....BUT....In exchange you get super friendly staff and an interior that is more then I could have expected. We went there to lay on the beach and do some shore fishing around the island. We had a total blast. The Inn has a cleaning station and a grill for your use after you catch your favorite dish. There is a tackle shop near by called the Bait Box, go there if you need anything as far as fishing goes. The people there are super friendly and have anything you need, including good advice. Perfect location for a laid back stay. We rented a room with a small kitchinette and two real queen beds and for 3 days it was great. Note that they also have bigger bungalows that look even better for a longer stay. Sanibel and Captiva are amazingly beautiful. Night life reduced , but nice restaurant.

Mostly everything you need is close by, but most of the stores on the island are more expensive so I would recommend you shop for food etc prior to arriving. At first glance this hotel is not that impressive. It is Key West styled but if you take a closer look you will notice that it has not been maintained well, ie- balconies not painted, paint job on pool deck, bathroom bench built crooked. The beach is great for shelling and also good for swimming. The housekeeping was not so great but did leave enough towels daily for beach and personal use. We would go back for the location. We had originally booked a seaside room with two queen beds, but we were upgraded to a beachfront room with a separate bedroom when we checked in at no additional charge. We were in the room closest to the ocean and pool. It was great! This was our first visit to Sanibel Island and we will definitely […] be going back and staying at the Seaside Inn again. They brought a basket full of goodies for each morning and there was plenty for two adults and two children. We took some of it home with us, there was so much! They put umbrellas and chairs out on the beach each morning and we used two of their beach cruisers to ride along the island. We did not want to leave! My wife and I stayed for three nights. The property was great. LOVED having the chairs and umbrellas avail free on the beach! The bikes as well - I dont think other properties offer that as part of the rate. Also the breakfast basket was great for what it was - it definitely satisfied the morning food crave.
