Very nice, clean room for the family. It's definitely a very basic room - but very comfortable beds, enough room... a great value. It's a bit of a hike from the Gesundbrunnen train station, but not too bad. 15-20 min walk to a couple of nice restraunts. Fantastic (free, included with room) german breakfast. Stuffs are friendly and helpful,the receptionist helped me figured out the train and bus schedule and how to get to the airport in the early morning. The room are clean, breakfast is okay, many options on the weekends, the croissants are so yummy. The location of the hotel is alright, the hotel area is quite dark and quiet at night.

Very clean and 450 meters from Gesundbrunnen metro stop. Best variety at breakfast for this class hotel both hot and cold. Come before 9 am, as the groups who stay here clean out breakfast and make a mess. You can purchase your Berlin welcome cards and other transit tickets at the front desk.

Stayed in the Citylight Hotel for three nights, with two small children. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. The quad room was equipped with two twin beds and a bunk bed for the kids. The Nearest bahn station is less than 5 min walk. Parking at the hotel is limited but there is plenty parking on the street for free. Breakfast was great and included […] in the price. There is club ran by the hotel in the basement, so it was a little noisy on Friday, but not any louder than the occasional traffic passing by. I enjoyed my stay at the Citylight Hotel. The staff speak english and can provide advice on what to see in Berlin and use of the nearby train station / subway (5 min walk). We were very happy with this hotel. The hotel is located in an accessible part of Berlin and easily reached by public transport. Take the U-Bahn to station Gesundbrunnen from there it is a short 4 minute walk. At Gesundbrunnen station there is a Mall with restaurants, supermarket, drugstores, snack stands and clothing stores....anything you might need. The […] area is residential. The hotel is clean and all staff was friendly and helpful beyond the expected. Breakfast was extensive, tasty and plenty - ranging from cereals, sticky buns, to various rolls, cheeses, lunch meats, jams fruit, eggs, etc. Breakfast is buffet style and you can go back for more if you choose. One word of warning....the hotel does accommodate groups of school children, so be early for breakfast. If you arrive last minute, the selection will be much less ample. Our room was clean and the bathroom looked to be newly renovated. Our room did not have a tub - but a nice size shower. Rooms do differ so check before you go. The interior of the hotel is basic but comfortable. No frills! Our room did not have a rug and there was no fancy furniture in the room or in the reception area. (We did have a TV and phone.) The hotel is listed as a "youth hotel" and you will likely find groups of young people in the hotel. We did not have an issue with noise but you can't miss all the students at breakfast and during the evening hours. We were there during an unusually hot period in July 2010. There was no A/C in the room and I would suspect it is not normally needed in Germany. We were able to open windows across the room and with the breeze outside were able to keep the air circulating. If you must have A/C to be comfortable - check before you book. In the basement there is a room for young adults to relax play pool and get to know others. We also saw a ping pong table. Both times we have had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel as a very cost effective place to stay if in Berlin. Be aware that, even though this hotel advertises its location as 'Mitte', it is in fact at least an hour walk from what everyone considers to be the *actual* Mitte. This hotel is located minutes away from U-Bahn or other transportation and stuff is very friendly, wifi works, clean room, (pick one on the north side - no air conditioner). Breakfast is fresh and has good selection of almost everything you could think off to eat or drink. No mini fridge (at least in our room) so you need to think about getting cold […] drinks in advance (great shopping mall is just 5 minutes away check the "REAL" store at the end of the passage) but it closes at 9Pm, or use 24h bar at the lobby, (inexpensive drinks and beer) You can get great advise about "what to see or do" from the front desk stuff, as well as purchase transportation passes in advance there. We have used "small group" ticket for 15euro to commute all over the city. You can opt for "organized" site seeing or just get a map and you will find yourself around the city with easy saving some money. Parking directly at the hotel is limited, but you can park almost everywhere around for free. Aldo, the first impression of the hotel location is not impressive, but we did not find anything unsafe or difficult to manage, and that is for first time visitors to Berlin from Canada. One thing which needs to be corrected is the correct spelling of the street on hotels webpages which when used on any GPS unit will not find it. Böttgerstraße 23 it is - not Boettgerstrasse 23. After 45 minutes a room was ready, on the ground floor (no. 2). Althoe it is 2* superior, it has a great location, in quite a silent neighbourhood, and an Castle hill to see from 1/2 of the windows. The hotel is relatively close to Tegel airport (to close next year) but we didn't hear much noise; there is a recycling site next to the hotel which gives a bit of noise, but nothing that bothered us much. From Schonefeld (and/or the new Brandenburg) airport it is quite a distance (50 Euro by Taxi). We should have taken the train/S-bahn to Alexanderplatz.
