Pelican Beach Villas - Marsh Harbour

We had reservations for an overnight stay on our way to Treasure Cay the next morning. We stayed in the one room efficiency. The room was indeed very small, but serviceable. The only major complaint was that the air conditioning unit was so noisy you couldn't bear to operate it and try to sleep. It overpowered everything, including the TV. We did eat […] at Jibs up the road when we got in on Saturday and had a very nice steak dinner. They serve ribs on Wednesday and Steak/Fish/Chicken choice on Friday. The resort is a beautiful bungalow community right on the water. There are hammocks, barbecue grills located within steps to a beautiful private beach. It lacks a pool and boat dock which is the only negative of the resort. The rooms are very clean and the resort only charges $5.00 for 100 minutes of calls to the US. Very clean, maid came by often to bring towels and to inquire of our needs. Owner stopped by and when told we needed a blender a brand new one was found within the hour. Everything provided to make our stay great. We also enjoyed the beach as it is one of the better ones on the island. You can snorkel from the beach to Mermaid Reef. The outside of the place wasn't so bad although a sign on the road would be a nice touch. Took considerable effort to find. The inside of the "Villa" was in poor shape. The kitchenette was just gross and half the electrical outlets didn't work. The sheets on the bed were stained and I don't even want to guess the last time the bed spread was cleaned. […] I just decided to stuff it in the closet and since there is no made service I didn't have to worry about it showing back up on the bed. Very quiet, family friendly, naturally beautiful no frills Caribbean getaway. Also suitable for business, but beware no late check in. More of an "extended stay" type of place, so check-in limited to normal daytime hours. Call ahead to make check-in arrangements if arriving late.

We were given unit#7 which is part of the office/laundry and very old. It is not oceanview unless you go outside and look between the other buildings which do have an oceanview. The bed is a joke - it would be better sleeping outside on the ground - it's caved in the middle and wobbles ridiculously. The floor in the unit is rotting undereneath and has […] soft spots when you walk on it. Our towels were changed once in the four days we were there and nothing else was done. The corners in every room were dirty and it only had a microwave and frig so you couldn't prepare any meals and because it wasn't very clean, you didn't want to eat there anyways. It is such a long walk to any business or activity that you absolutely have to rent a car or pay a taxi $15 each direction when you want to go out. The Jib Room only has meals on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It ruined our holiday. Read more

We had a wonderful stay at Pelican Beach Villa. The location is tucked away with a private beach and personal views of paradise! The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the unit very much like home. The grocery store and restaurants were just a quick taxi ride. But, with the BBQ grill provided, we had more time and money to enjoy other activities. […] Mermaid Reef was right down the street!! The spacious villas are brighly colored with private entrances and separate decks overlooking the ocean with great views. The villas are very clean, air-conditioned, decorated comfortably with full kitchens and kept up nicely inside and out. The decks have decent patio tables and chairs. They provide barbeque grills for grilling out (there are a few […] seafood markets close by and one is within walking distance). We grilled lobster tails during our stay. There is a nice beach, hammocks and comfortable swings on the property. The staff is very friendly and helpful with questions and assisted us with obtaining a rental car. A rental vehicle is recommended as Marsh Harbour is too far to walk. There is a restaurant across the street called the Jib Room which serves a nice steak and fish barbeque. We would stay here again! This is a very nice series of 2 bedroom cottages on the Sea of Abaco in Marsh Harbour. Fully equipped for our stay. We only stayed one night each way coming and going, and it was perfect. It has a deck overlooking the water, grill, hammock, and is convenient to a great bar at the nearby marina. Might not be the best for long stays.

I paid in full on line but the hotel did not have a record of it. Luckily they had a room available and I had my print out with me. It is a beautiful location on a beach. The room was comfortable with a little kitchenette, clean sheets and towels but the floor had not been cleaned.

Casitas bonitas a un lado del mar en una zona muy tranquila. La encargada muy simpatica, nos recomendo restaurantes y nos llevo en su carro hasta uno de ellos. Entre los inconvenientes, esta bastante apartado del centro para quien no cuenta con vehiculo, y queda lejos tambien el muelle de donde se toman los barcos hacia los cayos.
