"The Smell"
Reviewed by Helen of Augusta on Dec 7, 2009
No one was at the front desk when I arrived. After ringing the bell twice, a nice, but not very efficient man, showed up coming from upstairs. He fumbled through his papers and finally found my reservation. He took me to the room which seemed nice, but after we moved in, we found it smelled terrible. He didn't seem concerned, but his cohort gave me a can of air freshener and we turned on the fan and it made it bearable. The clerk didn't offer to put us in another room. We were tired anyway.

Unbelievebly dirty. The room smelt of mildew, smoke and lysol. The switch plates were filthy. The bath sink had no stopper an wasn't very clean. The shower curtain was torn and the ub wasn't very inviting. The purple window tint they put up is peeling and very distracting. When tryng to turn off the lamp, it began to sizzle and spark. Then the phone light come on. Upon picking up the receiver, it was also completely greasy and filty. The topper was the morning we were leaving, we found someone's diry sock under the bed. The lobby wasn't swept and walking down the back hall to the breakfast area, there was trash laying around. Try the other hotels in town first.

The bathroom needed another coat of paint or two. It was noisey until very late at night due to people outside talking as well as traffic sounds.
