We don't like to be right in the thick of things - and this was the perfect hotel for it. Located just off of the main strip in Trouville, things were easy to get to and far enough away that we weren't hearing people coming back from the casino at 4AM at night. The two women who run it (sisters?) were so incredibly generous with their time and gave us great recommendations on restaurants and even looked up train times for us upon our departure. If we ever go back to Trouville (from NYC) we will definitely stay here. A gem for sure. We didnt use the breakfast service (there is a boulangerie a block away) so I cant speak to that but the Wifi worked on my husbands cell phone just fine. *disclaimer - we live in NYC. so this hotel didn't feel very small to us as we live in a large studio. We didn't spend much time in it either so didn't have a problem with the size. in a town like this, you aren't going to want to be inside much anyway. Also, we obviously speak English and the women spoke some, too. Made it very easy to communicate.

We stayed in the second smallest room (the Roucoule), on above the inn's fantastic restaurant. It has slanted ceilings reinforced by old timbers, since it is an attic room, but had a big, comfortable bed, full bath that was newly refurbished, and a table chair/window overlooking the main courtyard, where you can play chess with oversized pieces. The restaurant's goats and cows can be heard from your room with your window open (not overwhelming, but nice), and the restaurant is the best we've been to in Normandy. The breakfast spread is substantial and is included in the "half-board" along with the medium level of the hotel dinner menu, which was quite extensive. Fantastic choice, and less than 10 minutes from the Normandy beaches. Plenty of free parking, and you can wander around the grounds to get a view of the surrounding countryside.

We loved the hotel. We made sure that they had a restaurant for our 12/23-12/25 stay because of the Christmas holiday, which is does. We were told that they close the hotel for the first 2 weeks in January - fine. Why did they close the restaurant on December 22? There was only one place in the town to eat on Christmas Eve - a hotel with only a very expensive 'prix fixe' meal available. This was a disappointment to us.

The only concern we had here, was we ate at the restuarant at the hotel. Rather than putting it on our room, we decided to just pay for our meals as we go. Well come morning to check out the last dinner we paid cash for they showed and amount still due for the evening dinner. My regret was that I didn't make the waiter give me a receipt that we had paid cash. They took the charge off, but felt really bad about the issue. So if you eat at the restuarant and decide to pay in cash make sure to get a receipt that you paid. Other than that we really enjoyed our visit here and highly recommend it.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for those traveling on a budget. The building and rooms were clean, the staff was super nice to us,... and while the location is a bit out from the city center, it's only a block from the tram station. We loved having the ability to cook a few meals since we stayed here towards the end of our trip and while eating out was wonderful it was nice to save a bit. A short guide to Caen

In 1944, roughly 80 percent of Caen was destroyed during the Battle of Normandy. Rebuilt during subsequent decades, the city is now mostly modern in character. However, some important historical landmarks remain, such as Château de Caen (one of the largest medieval castles in Europe), and the Women’s Abbey and Men’s Abby, built by William the Conqueror in 1060 and 1063.

We arrived to check in to this apartment hotel on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately for us, reception does not open on a Sunday (not stated on our booking confirmation) and we had not been provided with the codes needed to get our keys from the safe deposit box. Luckily we were able to find a very pleasant staff member who spoke very limited English […] and she went out of her way to help us out. The room itself was very basic, but was fine for the 2 nights we were there and we would not hesitate to stay here again. We had 4 adults in a 1 bedroom apartment and there was more than enough space. Only annoyance was that we could only get to the bathroom through the bedroom. The sleeper sofa was surprisingly comfortable. The apartment is quite dated, and not the cleanest we have ever stayed in, but was about what we expected for the price. The kitchen has basic facilities - a cooktop, microwave and fridge. No oven. Location was good for exploring the D-Day beaches. There is a supermarket close by and some restaurants, but we didn't spend much time in the area other than to sleep. Read more

Didn't know what I was getting into with this reservation. It was great. We had our own little kitchen area to make our meals. Grocery store within walking distance. So thankful it had internet access! Located close to a main bus or rail station. If I had know about the location in Paris, I would have booked there too!

Hotel was kind of awkward; wasn't sure if it was even a hotel. We thought it was an apartment building. But the staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. Wasn't noisy outside. The building is a little dated though.

Nous avions loué un studio twin pour une nuit. Nous avons été un peu déçus parce que le descriptif de la chambre ne correspondait pas vraiment à ce que nous avons trouvé (pas de balcon, au lieu d'un canapé-lit nous avons trouvé un lit tiroir, le wifi n'est pas accessible dans les chambres mais seulement dans le hall de l'hôtel). Et puis la deco est […] un peu vieillote et il y avait des odeurs d'égout dans la salle de bain. Nous avons été obligé de demander au personnel de faire quelque chose. Les chambres sont-elles bien vérifiées avant les arrivées?? Tout cela peut paraitre de l'ordre du détail mais ça gâche un peu le séjour. Pas enkele dagen voor vertrek geboekt, aangezien andere hotels veelal volgeboekt waren of peperduur. Al met al een net en schoon hotel, of meer een appartementengebouw. Wij hadden een kleine studio, bestaande uit één kamer met losse bedden, een keukentje, douche/toilet. Keukentje had alles erop en eraan, van compleet servies en pannenset, bestek, kookplaat, […] koelkast, magnetron en kleine vaatwasser. Dichtbij is een winkelcentrum met een Carrefour supermarkt. Wij hebben daar elke avond croissants en stokbrood gekocht voor ons ontbijt de andere morgen. Het hotel biedt ook een ontbijt aan, maar voor € 9,00 pp. is het wat karig. Eén keer gebruik van gemaakt maar. Nadeel is dat het hotel gelegen is aan de rand van de stad op een kantorencomplex, dus 's avonds gezellig nog een wandelingetje maken of een terrasje pakken, zit er niet direct in. Ook restaurants zijn er niet echt in de buurt. Het hotel ligt op ca.10 minuten met de auto van het centrum en daar zijn wel meerdere restaurants. Ook de tramhalte ligt vlakbij. Het hotel is perfect gelegen om alle bezienswaardigheden in Noord-Normandië te bekijken, zoals de D-day stranden, Bayeux, Arromanches, Ste. Mère Eglise, enz. Al met al een fijn verblijf gehad, maar wellicht een volgende keer elders vanwege de ligging. Read more

Un peu surpris de trouver un convertible au demeurant confortable mais pouvant poser problème aux personnes de forte corpulence !!! L accueil est sympathique, l équipement de la sdb (douche) adéquat et il manque juste une cafetière dans la kitchenette.l […] heure limite de 09h pour le petit déjeuner est un peu matinale si on veut une relative grasse matinée avant de partir en excursion dans Caen ou vers les plages assez proches (Luc et Courseulles ou Colleville). le lit est vraiment très dur et il grince comme pas possible, pas d'eau chaude le soir pendant une semaine , notre chambre avait apparemment un ballon d'eau chaude petit... on était deux j'imagine même pas pour une famille...........pas grand chose autour de l'hôtel mis à part un centre commercial mais pour visiter des monuments ou sortir il faut prendre […] la voiture ou le tram. Appartement bien équipé, en bon état et avec balcon. Situation intéressante par rapport au centre ville de Caen et à la côte. Supermarché juste à côté

Principe de réservation et réception pratique. Bon accueil. Studio, vaisselle, linge propres. Très calme (l'hiver fenêtre fermée). Seul point à améliorer la literie : les 2 matelas du lit double ne sont pas fixés ensembles et s'écartent, c'est pas le top.

Très pratique pour l'accès au campus, le tram s'arrête à 2 min de l'hotel et on a meme eu droit à un tarif étudaint ! Petit bémol cependant sur le confort de certains matelas...
