"Great quality for what you pay"
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Ryerson campus and Eaton center and the AMC theater which are where me and my boyfriend spent our time. The staff is very friendly and the room was quite clean and comfortable and had all the necessary things for a pleasant stay.
"Value for the cost"
Considering the rate was lower than most in the downtown area I didn't know what to expect. The room was small but clean. Bathroom looked to be recently renovated. The area around the hotel is dodgy but is very close to Dundas/Yonge shopping. Close to a variety of public transport. If you are looking for a sleeping room, this was fine.

"no nonsense"
Not fancy, but the room was clean and the staff were nice & professional, and it was in a perfect location for my trip.
"Hotel room nightmare"
Even thought the staff was always friendly, the hotel is anything but appealing. I stayed there for several days with my colleges. The bed linen were dirty or stained, the carpet had plenty of burn marks, the bathrooms were decorated with hair from other people, bugs and a bit of mold. The walls had a nice pattern of water stain and was barely hold […] up the wall paper. Cleaning the rooms was not a priority. I found long and lots of hair in my fresh towels, my colleague had to make the front desk aware of a large stain in the middle of his bed in order to get it change finally. Oh and the area is anything but save. If you come by car, pray to not have your car broken into. I saw a couple of prostitutes in front of the hotel and plenty of homeless people. Read more
"Do not stay!"
keeping it simply, i would suggest that you do not stay here. Very run down, very dirty (bathroom spelled like urine) very bad neighbourhood (a lot of homeless and drug dealers) and no parking. Not only is there not parking, they lied and told us that we could park at a neighbouring hotel with that hotels consent. We ended up paying 20 dollars for parking […] at this hotel to find out that we were not allowed to be there. Avoid Hotel!! Read more

"Everything (or lack thereof) that you pay for"
I stayed here during a brief stay in Toronto to secure housing. The location was ideal because it was so close to the downtown areas-- but I got what I paid for. It's really the little things that stuck out in my mind: instead of a fitted sheet on my bed, the staff used a regular bedsheet which I'm not even sure was made for a queen bed, because it […] kept on slipping off during the night. The luggage rack was broken when we first got to the room, & I had to request a new one be sent. When we got there, the bathroom was not clean-- to the point that I had to wipe the floors myself to pick up stray dust and hair. I'd only advise going to this hotel if you really can't afford anything nicer, and location really matters. otherwise, I'd just go to a hotel farther away. Read more
"You get MORE than what you pay for !!!"
EconoLodge Downtown Toronto was quite a pleasant surprise. MiniMart across the street, Harvey's Hamburger on the other corner, The Beer Store about 3 blocks away (NO Wine, Beer ONLY). Staff extremely friendly and courteous ... very helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions. Comfortable room with refrigerator ... ice machine is off the lobby […] next to soda machine. Only negative is that the "Downtown" is quite misleading ... even though it's over a mile to Front Street / Union Station / CN Tower / Hockey Hall of Fame ... there are several much higher priced hotels that (in MY opinion) really qualify as "DOWNTOWN" ... Otherwise I enjoyed my stay and will stay again next trip ... and recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get MORE for their money !!! Read more
"You get what they say you'll get"
Overall this hotel is pretty much what they say it is. The room was small, but very clean. The hotel is located close to all the downtown sites but also has a shelter on the next block so pretty close to a not so good are either. The continental breakfast means your choice of a few cereals. The hotel is on a main street and while it is pretty well […] soundproofed, you will still hear the street sounds from your room. There is no parking at this hotel. You would have to arrange for parking elsewhere. The hotel might be able to help with that. So I guess if you are looking for a no frills, clean, hotel, this will work for you. Read more
"EconLodge - Jarvis, Toronto - definetly stay again"
I was in town for a 2 day seminar, just needed a place to sleep and shower, this was a much nicer hotel than I expected. My room was smaller, but fine for 1 or 2 people. The bathroom was clean and bright and bnice, the bed was comfy and the staf were helpful and friendly. For the price it was above my expectations. It was only a 10 min walk to young&dundas […] where I had to go, There is no parking, but there was reasonable parking for 24hrs down the street. Read more
"Location super close to Downtown Toronto"
Cheap oportunity to stay within walkingdistance of downtown Toronto. Clean but old. Almost no soundinsulation, rediculous breakfeast. Worth the price, if you do not plan to spend your time indoors there.
It was a very good deal. The location is so great! It was a small walk to everything! There is an additional parking fee that we didn't think about but I didn't care that much. I though I got my moneys worth. I had enough room, it was very clean, and the service was good. I would recommend this for anyone! If you are a picky person who tries to always […] find something wrong with things you might be disappointed with the breakfast but seriously people, just enjoy yourself. Read more
"Econolodge: Don't stay here if you want to sleep"
Sketch-city - more like a college dorm than hotel. 1st, there's no place to pull up to unload and check in - you have to hope for an empty street parking spot around the corner or lug your stuff from the Radisson $25/night parking lot 2 blocks away. A pair of prostitutes greeted us on the walk over. Had to stand in the cold and buzz for 3 min to be […] let into lobby. On the way to our 1st room, we could hear the music from our neighbor's room blaring all the way down the hall. As we passed one "non-smoking" room, half a dozen clubbers emerged in a cloud of hashish smoke. An abandoned half-full plastic cup of alcohol sat on the stair mantel by our 2nd room, where we were greeted by an amorous couple taking photos of each other - the woman plastering herself against the wall right by our door, dry-humping the wall. The sound of revelers, drug dealers and domestic discord kept us up until well past 3, so we slept in past the crappy breakfast. Read more

"Great location, great price"
I really enjoyed my stay here. The pros: This hotel is within walking distance of many of the great things to do in Downtown Toronto - Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre, CN Tower & Hockey Hall of Fame are all less than a 30 minute walk from here. Yonge St. is about a 10-15 minute walk. The hotel is very affordable compared to some other hotels in the […] area. The room we stayed in was clean and I saw no signs of bedbugs. The breakfast consists of bagels, toast, cereal, coffee & orange juice. The staff was really nice to us. There was decent water pressure in the bathroom and good heat/air conditioning. It's not the fanciest room - but I don't stay at hotels because they're fancy - I stay at hotels because they are clean, safe, affordable & close to the things I want to do. The cons: There is no parking provided for this hotel - however there are plenty of pay lots and garages to choose from close by. Read more

"Good Place"
The hotel was decent, not luxurious, but was worth the price we paid for it. It is a short walk to Yonge Street, where there is a lot to do.

"Great room for the money"
Breakfast could be a little better in variety of offer, but was OK.
"The worst Choice hotel I have ever stayed at."
There is no substitute for quality, and this place just did not have it. The continental breakfast was anything but continental, the menu sorely lacked, even for a comped feature. I have stayed at Choice hotels many times before, in fact I almost prefer them. But this one takes the cake. There wasn't any parking directly related to the hotel, in fact, […] the clerk could only offer a "maybe" alternative which cost me $140.00 extra due to a misunderstanding of the signage, and the clerk was indifferent to my predicament. SHe was also indifferent to my complaint when she asked me how my stay was. The room was extremely noisy. Other guests had television's blaring most of the night. There were people arguing loudly outside on the street. Traffic noise was unrelenting, not to mention construction that started at 6:30am. I did not sleep not even one wink.So.... happy? Not at all. "Good value for basics services"
If you,re looking for a hotel just to sleep and have a good shower, than I stronghly recommend Econo Lodge. Is near from the mos parts of Toronto Downtown and have a good service.
"Hotel Econolodge downtotwn Toronto"
Simple basic hotel nearby sightseeing and shopping. Very nice staff. Breakfest wasn't anything special, but enough for me (cerials, bagels with jam, orange juice and coffee). I thought that the trafic from Jarvis St would bother, but it wasn't too bad. The hotel room was okay, nothing fancy though. Proce meets the value.

The hotel was certainly reasonably priced and it was easy access to streetcar service (one street away), but there is no specific hotel parking if you have a vehicle. No ramps or elevators so be prepared to carry your baggage. The beds were super comfortable, it was cozy (small), and fine for my time spent there. Thanks.
"Clean, tidy and very pleasant"
The Econolodge in downtown Toronto is not a luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination but it is convenient, very clean and tidy and realtively convenient in terms of it's placement in downtown Toronto. I found the temperature of my room quite a bit warmer than I would have liked despite changing the termperature control and leaving the window ajar. […] Still, I was pleasantly surprised at how well appointed the small room was and how comfortable the stay was. The rate was very acceptable too. Read more
"Good value!"
Just stayed one night. The room was clean, front desk staff were polite. No issues. Great value for the price.

"EconoLodge DT Toronto - questionable"
I'm usually pretty tolerant and flexible regarding my hotel expectations and I stay usually 60-90 nights a year on business travel. This hotel is quite borderline, and below my minimum expectation. No elevator, had to carry suitcase up 3 flights of stairs (I think the hotel is 3 stories) - so if carrying is a problem ensure you are on 1st or maybe 2nd […] floor. Was put in smoking room that was quite odorous- my clothes came away smelling - although I requested non-smoking I didn't realize that I should have insisted. Room was tattered with stains and cigarette burns so had a worn, funky look. When I went to take shower I discovered that my two towels were only hand towel size - both no more than 12x18 inches and not enough to put over shoulders or get easily dry. There was a 'continental' breakfast but this was also quite minimal - dry cereals, toast, coffee/tea - don't go down expecting fruit, yogurt or any other items more typical of most current continental breakfasts. Bed was a bit soft but servicable. Staff was pleasant, email worked as did TV so those were the positives. Inexpensive but usually I find with similar lower cost deals found through Hotels.com that the overall quality is decent to good - this time, not up to my minimum. Read more
"EconoLodge Downtown Toronto Hotel"
Cheap, Clean & Cheerful, Breakfast incl. No elevator. Not close to parking or public transit, prepare to walk or cab it to downtown core.
"Nice Hotel..."
I would say this is one of the best in Toronto downtown in terms of money and comfortness.Every shops are close to this hotel and it is very difficult to get hotel at such a low charge without compromise in comfortness.
We had an excellent stay . The rooms were clean as could be. It is an older building made of stone not steel. I am very happy with the staff, the continental breakfast was a bonus for the price. Well done Econolodge. I would definitely go back.
"Do not book at this hotel."
This was the worst hotel experience of my life, the surrounding neighbourhood was a truly disgusting and dangerous place that didn't make me feel safe at all, with street people, flop houses and hookers everywhere. I would never tell anyone to stay anywhere remotely close to this location. As for the rooms, I will leave this hotel with some dignity […] even though they don't deserve it. I will just say the rooms were NOT up to standard. They were absolutely disgusting without going into detail. (GROSS) Over all this hotel gets two thumbs way, way down. Read more
"Toronto Visit"
Hotel Staff were helpful. Cleanliness is a big issue. We never had pillows when we got in to our rooms. We did not feel the comfort during our stay!
"Econolodge Toronto"
The attendant was rude and not speak english. The breakfast was poor. The room had a view to the garbage bin.

"a cheaper hotel -worth savings??"
Parking is a 3 minute walk - read that ahead of time. Parking is not run by hotel. It is not monitored and is a gravel lot. Taking chances. The surrounding area of hotel was low income and a lot of homeless people and a shelter. Did not feel completely safe coming back to hotel at night and front doors are locked. No elevator!! Must climb stairs with […] suitcases. The room was very small, but clean. I wouldn't stay there again. Cheaper, but not worth the savings. Read more

"Econolodge"
The pictures are not at all what the hotel really looks like. Its clean but very run down. There is no elevator, and the stairs are hard to climb. Its in a very sketchy part of downtown and you have to be very careful. The bed was very uncomfortable and the closet doors where busted off and we couldn't even open it. The toilet seat had burn marks in […] it. The continental breakfast is a complete joke! There is no shuttle from the airport to the hotel and its an EXPENSIVE cab ride. I would pay the few extra dollars a night and stay somewhere better. Read more
