Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great value for money. There was plenty of room for our family (two adults, one four year old and one six year old) and the rooms were well kitted out and spacious so we were able to cook when we felt like it. The receptionist was also helpful (and the one from Normandy very funny). Despite leaving prior to our room being 'formally' checked on the last day we have not been charged for anything on my deposit, which is a sign that you can trust the owners. Location was good and quiet with plenty of parking. The kitchen is very French (no oven, but microwave that steams/grills and electronic hobs. No kettle, but you can use the coffee perculator to get hot water for coffees/teas). It only looses one star as you are beholden on the previous guests to properly tidy the place. From a few guests complaining at reception it was clear that this was not always thoroughly checked. However, our room was fine.
"A great way to spend New Year"

Spent a week at New Year at Les Fermes de Samoens. Great location close to the pretty town, ski bus picks you up just outside the complex but an easy walk to the lift if you are fancy some fresh air. The chalets are nice and warm, well kitted out and a good size. You can collect your breakfast every morning from reception. The views of the mountains are spectacular I would defiantly stay here again and it must be great in summer.
"Great staff, well organized, cute apartment and good value"

These little chalets are just the ticket. Clean, cute and kited out with everything you need for a stay in the mountain. The view from the balcony is snow covered mountains. You can ordered your croissants and bread at reception and collect them fresh each morning (and they are good quality). The staff are so helpful, very unexpected for a French ski resort. There's a beautiful walk along the river to the ski lift which takes about 10 mins or the free ski bus stops right outside if you're feeling a bit lazy. The cross country skiing track passes right outside if you are into that. Would definitely return, maybe next time in summer.

Read reviews from people moaning about silly things, I have to say the place is good, warm, clean apartments and the staff are fine (by French standards), this isn't billed as the Ritz and its well priced for what it is... Pool is a little small but it says in the blurb its small, the place is in a great location next to the ski bus stop and not far from town. We were an all-male group of keen skiers/boarders and had a good experience here, we'd book again. Access from Geneva is v quick and your'e on the Grand M in minutes from leaving the apartment

I rang 24hrs prior to arrival to advise that we would not get to the apartments until 11pm. Despite already paying in full I still had to leave Euro 300 deposit and Reception agreed to leave the apartment open for us. The whole place was in darkness, and with no directions to our apartment it and took us 25 minutes to find the correct apartment using a torch we had with us! No key was left in the apartment so we propped a chair against the door. Reception staff the next morning were totally unhelpful and rude to be blunt. The pool is more of a plunge pool with very limited space. Pillow dreadful, lumpy and well used! Wifi, although my confirmation confirmed free wifi, the answer at Reception when I quieried the Euro 20 charge was ' it is not possible'. There's limited use anyway and only in reception. Location is not great unless you have a car as it is a good 10 minutes walk from the Village with heavy food bags... I dont think so. Ski bus stop outside so that's a plus (the only one) No Kettle in the apartment! No Microwave, limited cooking facilities. Gestapo approach on leaving as your apartment is fully inspected with a list of jobs you have to complete prior to having your Euro 300 returned. No tick sheet, no money basically. (see picture) No bread delivery either at the Weekend. In short, really dont bother. Friends stayed at La Marmotte in the Village, nice apartments and nice staff, honestly go there instead.

I stayed here with my friends for a week the rooms was so dirty there was no bins to put our rubbish in there was no kettle there was only one towel for the week there was dirty t shirts in the beds dirty socks under the bed we was made to pay 300euros deposit for nothing we had to clean up after we stayed there the lady at reception said it was clean when she checked the appartment but when she got down to reception she spoke in French that it was a mess my friend could understand her and charge us 70euros for this we tidyed the room better then when we got there the swimming pool was so small not worth getting in and we was only allowed to us it once a week so don't stay here is so bad
"Good Accomodation.......long wait to book in"

I have never stayed hjere before and we were a party of 13, 8 + 3. All in all this accomodation was great, very warm and well equiped. The bus stops right outside and drops you to the main lift in minutes. I have read reviews mentioning that the bed were lumpy and staff not the friendliest at times. I found this not to be true. Beds fine and staff great. They order your French Sticks in for you along with Pain au Chocolat so you can pick them up from reception at 8am. The only issue I found was the queue to check in, I ,managed to get in early but people were queueing outside and there was grumpy faces. Pool is small but it says it is but its free! You can buy Wifi at reception andit only works there and only open at reception times.....but once this is how it was sold. You're on Holiday, you dont need facebook.....etc I would stay again, we were lucky and drove so got there early. Great location, friendly staff, good bus links and great staff and village.

I have stayed at these apartments a number of time they are ok but could really do with WIFI in the apartments not just in the reception no English tv. Pool is small and cold and only open when the reception is so use is restricted. Pillows are in need of replacement lumpy horrible things.
"Good value clean ski apartments"

We stayed at the fermes de Samoens during the early January blizzards. We didn't get much skiing in and had to spend a lot of time in our apartment. We had a 3 bed one for parents and 2 older children. There was plenty of room, kitchen was well equipped. The apartment was warm and clean. Good boot room. They didn't clear the snow off the car park and it was difficult to get the car in and out. The swimming pool is small, but there is a steam room which was nice. The wifi doesn't work well, and there are very limited times you can use it. The staff are off hand even by French standards. It really would hurt them to be a bit more welcoming which would add to the enjoyment of the place. I thought it was reasonable value. The ski bus goes from outside and was frequent. Samoans is a wonderful town, and this is a reasonable place to stay. The beds are very hard and this was an issue.

The main problem with this accomadation is the misrepresentation by the marketing materials. The pool is pointless, since it is tiny and only open when reception is open and this closes at 8.00pm. Wifi is only in reception so again only available before 8.00. And of course when it is avialble there are 20 other peple using it so it is like having an anaologue modem. The accomadation is limited; there is no cooker so self catering is a real challenge. There is one sofa for 2 people in accomadation for 10 (I don't think so). Reception staff were very pleasent and helpful. But overall we were very dissappointed - definately would not go back.
