I loved it, it was great , i have started booking another holiday with family. The people and the staff is great . The swimming pool and sauna is a bit of a problem as you have to pay for the use of it and it closes at 7.30pm-8.00pm. That was i minor problem . I loved it and will stay there again .i would suggest more English Tv channels .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location near town and slopes"
The apartment was very warm, with clean bedding and towels provided. No kettle or toaster was available. I would recommend you take your own pillows. The ones provided are very lumpy and very uncomfortable. We have stayed here for the last two years, and would stay again due to its location and convenience to the town and the slopes with a bus which […] runs every 10 minutes from the hotel.
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This was our second visit to Les Fermes De Samoens.... and they are one of the best self catering apartments we have ever stayed in! We stayed for 3 weeks last year 17th Aug/7th Sept....and this year 25th July /16th Aug. Before we came down here last year we looked at the trip advisor reviews but still went with an open mind. We had a fabulous holiday! And the same again this year...even better! The apartments, I feel, are more than adequate with the kitchen / dining & lounge area plenty big enough. The kitchen is one of the best equipped we have ever had...although we do still take a few bits and pieces of our own. The bedrooms are also of a good size. We found the area surrounding the apartments to be clean and well kept. The staff are very friendly and more than happy to help, also the director (Sylvia) we found this time and last time to be friendly, polite and extremely helpful, a very nice lady! We will be booking again very soon for next year. This part of France is so beautiful and especially Samoens. We Love It.

I am new to tripadvisor so please bear with me. We booked an apartment here for a ski week in April. After I booked it I looked at trip advisor and started to worry a little, however I have to say I have nothing but praise for these apartments. Firstly the location,, brilliant! Just a 10 minute walk from the most beautiful village centre. I have been skiing all over France for 25 years and never have I been so taken with my surroundings like I was here. It really is a lovely place to be. On arrival I was prepared for a grumpy reception and a long wait based on previous reviews, however what I received was a charming welcome and lots of relevant information. The young French lady was very helpful. I found that to be the norm during the week stay. The apartment itself was ideal for us, 4 adults. We had a double room upstairs and a bedroom downstairs with very comfy bunk beds. There was also a pull out sofa bed that could be made as a single or double, however after setting it up we decided not to use it. All the bedding was provided. We did have an issue with two of the pillows as they were lumpy and out of shape but reception gave me two new ones no problem. We all slept great, but that might have been the big ski days and the après ski fun. The place was well equipped for cooking if you like to, but we ate out and just had breakfast in. The apartment was warm and cozy and there is a tv with at least one English news channel. One huge plus for us over past experiences in France was the shower. No matter how long we all showered the hot water just kept coming and it is super powerful which is great after a day of the snow. I also have to say that the apartment was immaculate and we felt engaged to leave it that way. I asked the reception lady at the end about how the cleaning works and she told me that if you pay you can just leave, barring a few obvious items, if you opt to do it yourself you need to leave it ready for the next people however she said that even then every apartment is visited by their cleaners. There was heaps of free car parking but be careful, the covered spots are tight and I can see easy potential for bumping your car, I came very close! We used the ski bus every day and left the car alone for the whole week. The ski bus is very convenient and easy, it's also free. There is wifi in the apartments but not free. I can't remember how much it was but we used it with no issues. The indoor pool is small, so if you want to do laps this is not the place to be, however we enjoyed going for a dip none the less. We ate out every night and had great food. We loved the Serac for well priced but fantastic pizzas. We also liked the tornalta (not sure if that's the spelling) For our drinks we found a place called the Aspen in the village centre and they did amazing girly cocktails and always had good music on. We hired our car in Geneva and it took us a little over an hour to get the the accommodation. As skiers we enjoyed the grand massif, once again. We used to stay in flaine but I will never go there before beautiful Samoens in the future. All said and done we had a brilliant time here and am currently considering a summer trip with my parents.
"Fine for what you pay"

We booked two 6 person apartments for a skiing holiday with friends. We were warned beforehand that the landlady is a bit grumpy, so it wasn't too much of a surprise when we met her! After we were checked in though, the rooms were nice and airy and were well equipped. It's about a 10 minute walk away from the centre of town, and about 20 minutes from the gondola, but there is a free ski bus that runs every 20 minutes that stops right outside the apartments. There was a bit of confusion over the end of stay cleaning - it isn't a mandatory fee, but it can sound a bit like it is! If you choose not to pay, you have to clean the apartment yourself. It was a bit disconcerting not knowing how well it had been cleaned by the previous occupants, although it seemed clean enough.
"Great self-catering apartment"

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 people, but it turned out to be more of a 1.5 bedroom apartment. There was a double room, bathroom, and toilet upstairs. Downstairs, in an alcove (not a room, no door) below the stairs, was a set of bunk beds. Could do with updating the pillows and mattresses, as these were very hard/lumpy. Aside from this, the apartment was great with a balcony and a view to the mountains. Breakfast can be ordered the night before for delivery at 8 am. The pool is very small, and not open all day. The ski shuttle stops right outside, and takes 10 minutes to get to the main lift. Would definitely recommend this place!

Great value for money. There was plenty of room for our family (two adults, one four year old and one six year old) and the rooms were well kitted out and spacious so we were able to cook when we felt like it. The receptionist was also helpful (and the one from Normandy very funny). Despite leaving prior to our room being 'formally' checked on the last day we have not been charged for anything on my deposit, which is a sign that you can trust the owners. Location was good and quiet with plenty of parking. The kitchen is very French (no oven, but microwave that steams/grills and electronic hobs. No kettle, but you can use the coffee perculator to get hot water for coffees/teas). It only looses one star as you are beholden on the previous guests to properly tidy the place. From a few guests complaining at reception it was clear that this was not always thoroughly checked. However, our room was fine.
"A great way to spend New Year"
01/09/14 Lindsay R London, United Kingdom
Spent a week at New Year at Les Fermes de Samoens. Great location close to the pretty town, ski bus picks you up just outside the complex but an easy walk to the lift if you are fancy some fresh air. The chalets are nice and warm, well kitted out and a good size. You can collect your breakfast every morning from reception. The views of the mountains are spectacular I would defiantly stay here again and it must be great in summer.
"Great staff, well organized, cute apartment and good value"

These little chalets are just the ticket. Clean, cute and kited out with everything you need for a stay in the mountain. The view from the balcony is snow covered mountains. You can ordered your croissants and bread at reception and collect them fresh each morning (and they are good quality). The staff are so helpful, very unexpected for a French ski resort. There's a beautiful walk along the river to the ski lift which takes about 10 mins or the free ski bus stops right outside if you're feeling a bit lazy. The cross country skiing track passes right outside if you are into that. Would definitely return, maybe next time in summer.

Read reviews from people moaning about silly things, I have to say the place is good, warm, clean apartments and the staff are fine (by French standards), this isn't billed as the Ritz and its well priced for what it is... Pool is a little small but it says in the blurb its small, the place is in a great location next to the ski bus stop and not far from town. We were an all-male group of keen skiers/boarders and had a good experience here, we'd book again. Access from Geneva is v quick and your'e on the Grand M in minutes from leaving the apartment

I rang 24hrs prior to arrival to advise that we would not get to the apartments until 11pm. Despite already paying in full I still had to leave Euro 300 deposit and Reception agreed to leave the apartment open for us. The whole place was in darkness, and with no directions to our apartment it and took us 25 minutes to find the correct apartment using a torch we had with us! No key was left in the apartment so we propped a chair against the door. Reception staff the next morning were totally unhelpful and rude to be blunt. The pool is more of a plunge pool with very limited space. Pillow dreadful, lumpy and well used! Wifi, although my confirmation confirmed free wifi, the answer at Reception when I quieried the Euro 20 charge was ' it is not possible'. There's limited use anyway and only in reception. Location is not great unless you have a car as it is a good 10 minutes walk from the Village with heavy food bags... I dont think so. Ski bus stop outside so that's a plus (the only one) No Kettle in the apartment! No Microwave, limited cooking facilities. Gestapo approach on leaving as your apartment is fully inspected with a list of jobs you have to complete prior to having your Euro 300 returned. No tick sheet, no money basically. (see picture) No bread delivery either at the Weekend. In short, really dont bother. Friends stayed at La Marmotte in the Village, nice apartments and nice staff, honestly go there instead.
