Having stayed at the Landis Hotel in Taipei, I expected Icon to offer the same service quality or better. After checking in, no one bothered to show us to our room and introduce us to the facilites available. I booked a harbor view room for an increased price. Sure there was a view of the harbor, if you looked to the left side. Directly outside my window was the rooftop of the mall. The concierge was helpful. I had one meal at the lobby cafe. My mom ordered a chowder in bread bowl. The bread came out toasted with green mold!! How did they miss that?! Killed our appetites immediately! I've read comments comparing Icon to the Four Seasons. One of our travel companions stayed there and I had an opportunity to rest in her room during our long afternoons in Hong Kong island. The hotel is impeccable and there was definitely no mold in our food.

Decent size room for Hong Kong. Definitely not huge but plenty big enough. Nice bathroom. Perfect Kowloon location. Clean and nice

Location.
The Landmark Mandarin Oriental is located in the business district of Central Hong Kong and adjacent to the Central MTR Station and the Landmark Atrium. Within 500 meters (550 yards) of the hotel are dining and nightlife areas, Lan Kwai Fong and Soho.
Hotel features.
The luxury hotel features a two-story full-service spa with 15 treatment rooms, a spa café, 18-metre indoor heated pool, fitness center, and yoga and Pilates studio. Amber, the hotel's Michelin-awarded restaurant, serves fine French cuisine and the two-level MO Bar serves cocktails and has an organic menu.
Guests of The Landmark Mandarin Oriental are greeted at the airport and escorted to the hotel (surcharge). Events can be booked in the two fully equipped meeting rooms and services include catering and conference planning. Valet parking is available (surcharge).

101 contemporary guestrooms at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental feature beds with 400-thread-count linens and marble bathrooms with sunken bathtubs, separate showers with rainfall showerheads, and dual sinks. The 7,620-square-metre, full-service Oriental Spa features 15 treatment rooms, a couple's suite, aromatherapy steam rooms, men's and women's lounges, Turkish Hammam baths, a sauna, and spa tub.
Treatments include massages, facials, body treatments and wraps, and signature treatments using the spa's line of products. The spa also offers manicures, pedicures, and waxing services. The facility has a café and boutique.
Amber - Contemporary French cuisine served in an amber setting under a contemporary sculpture. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bar is open from afternoon until late night. Children's menu available.
MO Bar - Chic bar serving an organic menu includes breakfast buffet, a la carte lunch and dinner, and Sunday brunch. Afternoon tea is served daily. Martinis, cocktails, and drinks are served until late. Live music.
Spa Café - Serving a healthy menu with focus on fruits, vegetables, pasta, and seafood. Also offering smoothies, fruit juice, and teas.
The Oriental Spa has an 18-metre indoor heated pool; a fitness center with cardio and weight training equipment and free weights; and a Pilates and yoga studio. Children's yoga classes are also available. Running maps are available at the concierge desk.

My previous stay was at another 5 star hotel in Canada, called the Royal York. The hotel Landmark Mandarin was by far more luxurious and filled with Amenities than the other hotel. I can say my expectations were far exceeded and this hotel deserves another star. The Landmark was at attached to a very posh mall that only had designer stores. "Needs to work on the details"
My impression is that the landmark is firstly a shopping mall and they built a hotel on top of it. The hotel is small and it seems as if they don't fully know how to run a hotel. They got all the big things right such as decorations, amenities and everything in the checklist to become a 5-star hotel, but there were many subtle details that were annoying. For […] example, the door to the bathroom would always slam because of the hinges and there was no padding between the glass door and the marble wall so it made a huge sound unless I carefully closed the door manually. The audio/video system was very impressive and extremely easy to use. This was one of the highlights of the room, but the sound seemed to have too much bass. As a result, the voices in the DVD that I brought with me were way too low. It sounded like everybody was trying to be really macho and talk really deep. I called the technical staff, but they were unable to fix it. They told me that I had a bad DVD, but I've played that DVD many times and it never had that problem before. I was not so much upset at the sound problem as I was that they tried to blame me for the problem. The showers in the spa were very hard to figure out how to operate. I had to call the attendant for help turning on my shower. Although beautiful, the design of the handles is not very intuitive. I asked for late checkout and they could not accommodate me. Most hotels will usually let me stay at least an hour later by simply re-adjusting the cleaning schedule. This hotel is the first that wasn't able to let me check out a single minute later. Read more

Vi tillbringade fyra fantastiska dagar i Hong Kong och bodde på underbara Landmark Mandarin Oriental. Rummet var stort med en härlig inglasad rund badavdelning. Pesonalen är oerhört vänlig utan att vara påträngande, inte minst de sympatiska doormen. Spa-avdelningen var mycket fin. 홍콩 랜드마크 만다린호텔 숙박기. 친구와의 여행을 약속하고 친구는 항공편을 나는 호텔을 책임 지기로 했다. 평소 홍콩으로의 출장은 주로 비지니스호텔을 이용했으나 이번은 뭔가 좀 특별한 여행을 기대 하고서, 평소 묵고 싶었던 만다린을 예약했다. 늦은 비행기편으로 인해 공항에서 택시를 타고 기사분에게 만다린 호텔로 가자고 했다. 기사분이 만다린이 두군데 있는데, 어느곳으로 갈지 물어 보길래 난 바우쳐를 확인하고 퀸즈로드의 랜드마크 만다린으로 가자고 했다. 호텔을 밤12시 가까이 되어서야 도착을 했다. 도착해서 보니 내가 가고자하는 만다린이 아니였다. 이미 예약된 상황이니 어쩔수 없이 여기 묵는 수밖에. 호텔의 한국직원의 […] 설명이 내가 가고자하는 만다린이랑 같은 그룹이래서 안심을 했다. 그래 그럼 씨싸이드만다린은 다음에 가봐야지 생각하고 호텔의 한국직원 안내를 받아서 룸까지 편안히 도착. 룸의 이곳저곳을 둘러보니 디자이너의 느낌이 풍겨지는 인테리어에 모던함과 편안함이 아~좋아 탁자에 과일이랑 쵸콜릿도 준비되어 있다. 과일이 피곤함을 가시게라도 하듯이 느낌이 좋다. 우리나라 어름과도 비슷한 패션푸룻은 새콤달콤^^. 식후일연초를 위해 담배를 물었는데 어디에도 재털이가 없다. 여기저기 서랍을 다 뒤져도 없다. 난 바우쳐를 다시금 확인했다. 분명 흡연룸이다. 프론트에 전화를 하니까 소파근처에 자세히 찾아 보란다. 난 전화를 끊고 다시 찾아봤지만 없다. ㅎㅁ 나의 짧은 영어로 내가 못알아 들었나? 다시 프론트에 전화를 해서 한국직원을 바꿔 달래서 재털이가 없다고 했더니 금방 갖다 주신단다. 담배불을 붙이고 네다섯개비는 더 피울 시간인데 재털이는 감감 무소식이다. 다시금 프론트에 전화를 걸어 한국직원을 바꿔달랬더니. 허걱. 한국직원 퇴근 했단다. 아이캔낫파인드애쉬트래이. 우쥬브링미애쉬트래이? 오륙분후 시큐리티분이 재털이 갖다 주심. 재털이 구하는데 한시간 가까이 걸리다니. 이런… 이튿날 시내구경 삼일째. 몽콕시장을 구경하고 밤12시가 다 돼서야 호텔도착. 1층바에서 술한잔 하려 했더니 일요일이라선지 일찍 문을 닫았다. 하는 수 없이 룸 미니바를 이용. 프론트에 얼음과 간단한 과일을 시켜서 맥주랑 위스키를 마셨다. 아이스볼을 시켰는데 얼음 집게가 없다. 허걱. 하는수없이 그냥 손으로 얼음을 잔에다 옮겨서 마심. 앗 두병째 미니조니워크블랙라벨을 뚜껑을 따는데. 허거걱. 병이 따져있다. 이런…하는 수 없이 보드카로 대체해서 마심. 프론트에 전화 하는것도 귀챦타. 첵아웃 하기전 스파에들러 사우나 하는데 시설 너무 좋다. 호텔로서는 상급인데, 일부 서비스에선 실망의 실망을 금치 못할 수준이다. 하필이면 나에게만 이런일이 발생 했는진 모르겠지만 그렇다면 난 만다린이랑은 연이아닌가보다. 아무튼 한국어 안내직원 하이디와 도어맨 밴의 서비스 정신과 친절함에 그나마 다행으로 좋은 인상 남겼다.
