when we checked in, we were a little surprised that it hadn't been shut down and condemned. We got less than we paid for. We wanted to budget on the small scale, but this was a little on the low scale for our taste. Now mind you, it was directly on the beach. And it was quiet, for middle of the summer; we slept good, that's really all we wanted. It was run down, yet in a good location....I'd only recommend it if you only wanted to sleep. No frills.

We wanted an inexpensive hotel on the beach, and that is what we got. It wasn't very clean we expected that. We brought our own bedding and some cleaning supplies. The staff was very nice, and the hotel is right on the beach. We had a wonderful time and yes I would stay there again. Another great feature is a little store to buy hot coffee in the morning a very short walk from the motel

The ac does not work and there is NO one there to help not even Hotels.com. I will never use this site or motel! oh and we had four rooms, all were gross. Walls are white and black brick sort of the dungeon look.

The hotel itself is very antique I would describe. When I arrived to the hotel i had to wait an extra 10 mins for the front desk person to show up. When I finally got into my room the room had a musty smell in it. The bathroom pipes where broke so when I took a shower in it there was a flood in the middle of the floor. The bed's sheet were nasty. Luckly i had my own blankets. There were red stains on them. The door to the hotel did not lock easily. The curtains were hard to close. My stay ws miserable.

Check in office was closed, locked and unattended. Finally reached someone via phone # written on door of the office. I was told that a room was unlocked to just go in. The rug turn my socks dirty walking from the bed to the bathroom. There was an empty beer in the frost covered fridge. The maids that clean do the best with what they have to work with which isn't much. Will not stay again much betters hotels around.

The hotel seem strange when I arrived and the front desk lights were off w/ the receptionist sitting in there w/ a fan and his shirt off. I went to Daytona for the night to hang out with an old friend. I got this room and thought it would be great (or at least a little better than nice) since on the beach. There wasn't any hot water to shower after I made the 4 hour drive there. The A/C was supposed to be on since I seen a fan blowing but the room didn't cool off after an hour. Once my friend arrived to the room w/ sandles on she took them off and we realized the room floor was wet. Needless to say we left the hotel right then and found another place. The front dest had a typed letter on the door by management stating the office would be closed and gave a number to contact for emergencies. I called it and the manager told me to contact hotels.com for a refund. I can't wait to see how that turns out.

Royal Beach is a small old motel which now calls itself a resort. It is located on the beach and is within five miles of anyplace you'd like to go in Daytona (Speedway, Flea Market, Mall, Restaurants, (2)Wal-Marts, Publix, Winn Dixie, Museum, Waterpark, and the Boardwalk. The location is great. Parking is limited for the number of rooms and there is a $3.00 a day charge. We stayed three days/two nights. Our room had a kitchenette. It did not face the beach, but had a nice view of the beach from the kitchenette. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Air conditioner, tv and refrigerator worked good. My biggest greif was the cleanliness of the room. Cabinets and draws dirty. Floor or carpet made my feet black with dirt. For what we paid I would possibly give this place another try. Always keeping in mind you get what you pay for.

My room had no balcony, and the deadbolt didn't work. There is no pool. It is right on the beach, though. The room was clean. Long walk to the pier/boardwalk, but you can walk down the beach the whole way. If you're looking for very basic accomodations, this place is fine. The price is great, but you get what you pay for!

Guys, you truly get what you pay for here. We didn't seek this hotel as part of a Spring Break plan, but as a last minute booking online. We really couldn't complain too much because we got a great rate for two nights. As a place to stop, park the car, and sleep, it met our expectations. We spent a lot of time out and about in Daytona, so we didn't have a real need for an extravagent room...so this place did alright. The carpet was dirty, and there was no control of the air conditioner. There was one overhead light and a broken ceiling fan. We had to tuck the corner of the curtain into the door of the room to keep it from opening. On a better note--the location was great. Right down the road from everything with easy parking. It seemed pretty safe, and the office staff was cool. There was a little "used-to-be" party patio that opened to the backyard of the hotel, then through a gate straight to the beach. Very cool! Check in and check out was very easy, and they gave us a cool map that we used throughout the day around Daytona. Don't expect the royal treatment...but don't disregard this place as a potential short-term stay while rolling through Daytona Beach.
