Hotel Bellagio - Bellagio

Perfect town to stay in. Convenient location, friendly staff, clean room. We took a bus from the Lake Como train station, walked to our hotel from there, it was really easy to find. Took a ferry ride back to the train station at the end of our stay.

This hotel is in a great location, just a block up the hill from the little water front area and ferry service station. You can walk down the hill or up for some great restaurants and quaint stores. The staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was okay. Enough to get you started in the morning, but could use a little more variety. We had a room facing […] the lake up on the 3rd floor. Any lower and I don't think you would be able to see over the other buildings. Nice little balcony to step out onto and enjoy the sun's rays peaking over the mountain or a great sunset. The room was a good size though the decoration was a little sparse. Comfortable bed by American standards! We had a roll-away bed made and ready in our room for our daughter and there was still plenty of room to get around without bumping into anything. The roof terrace would be a great place to have a sunset drink overlooking the whole lake. (It was a little too cold during our visit.) Just be mindful that there is no street access to the hotel, it is up a little alley, so you will have to carry your bags after getting dropped off or finding parking. It it not too difficult to make it up the steps, but if you have a lot of luggage it could be annoying. Overall, a good choice. Read more

The rooms are quite small. The staf is exceptionally helpful. Whe you read tthe advertisemenbt about the steps you must carry your luggage it is not a few "loving" but 40 grueling steps. More like the Batan death march.

Be warned that getting to the hotel requires a climb up a fairly substantial set of gradual steps--not bad without baggage but a chore when loaded down. The room was PERFECT. The staff was very accomadating. I thought it was a neat thing the way the temperature is contrilled from a computer at the front desk. It probably saves you a lot of money because the guests can's "bury" the AC, then leave the room and have the AC running for hours while they're gone. The only thing I personally found inconvenient […] was the steps. I have two knee replacements and a hip replacement and as a result, don't do stairs well. We tried, four months in advance, to get rooms at your hotel on ground level, but they were all sold out. We had a very lovley and pleasing stay in Bellagio and the Bellagio Hotel. The Hotel provided us with a lovely local bottle of Red Wine when they found out it was our honeymoon. We booked the Lake View which was fantastic and had 2 balconies which opened up to a magnificent panaramic view of the lake. The Hotel is dog friendly and the previous occupant […] had 2 dogs so the quilt cover had dog hairs, and was quickly removed when we informed the hotel. However, it was never replaced during our stay. Breakfast was very simple continental selections so it was a little boring for us however, on a positive their coffee was fantastic and it had great views. Booked lakefront room which was not available. Beds were very uncomfortable. No amnenities such as bottled water or soft drinks available anywhere. Bed actually went like it had sand in it. Hotel is up a difficult stairway to walk, so deifintely not a place for anyone not in top shape as there is no one to assist you with luggage, etc. No restaurant, […] although they own the hotel down the steps and next door, and they serve until 10pm. The Bellagio does have a free continental breakfast included. If you're lucky, you can find someone in here who will sell you a bottle of water for 2 euros. Do not expect a late check-out or any extras, although the girls working at the front desk were helpful with directions and help getting on the Internet. Defintely a budget hotel! Read more

In terms of location and budget the Bellagio is great....moderately priced. We had a lake facing room and the little balcony opened out to a most gorgeous view of the lake. But in terms of access, it was really difficult to get to. One had to climb at least 30 steps to get to the main entrance and with a toddler and a stroller it got really difficult. […] Diego at the reception was extremely helpful and nice and got our stroller every time. In terms of the room - it was spacious with little thought for furniture or decor. I think the double bed is very misleading - they were two separate wrought-iron beds put together side by side. And they would keep sliding apart with my son mostly sleeping in the crevice. The mattresses were not that great either and quite thin. Also the walls were quite thin and we could hear a lot of the neighbors and I'm sure some of them heard my son! Stayed two nights - be sure to ask for a lake view or terrace. They are more expensive rooms, but totally worth it! Breakfast was fine, everyone that worked there was super helpful and nice, beds not super comfy. They had deals with a nearby hotel for a good dinner deal and with a sporting club with a pool (free!).

Very nice, modern hotel in middle of an old town. Very nice room, pretty good breakfast, helpful but not warm staff. The Bellagio Area is beautiful. The location of the hotel is in the center of everything. It was clean and had a parking place for us. We paid extra for that. The rooms are very small. There are many steps up to the entrance, which might be a problem for people with disabilities.

Tee hotel is located almost at the top of a long cobblestone narrow way, full of steps. Luggage needs to be carried up and down. No help is offered. Parking away from the location is 11 euros per day.

The hotel is right in the center of town up a pedestrian street so walking is involved to reach the hotel for about 50 meters. The hotel is close to the ferry dock and many great places to eat. This hotel was easy to find and very clean. The beds were hard. The service was sufficient and congenial but not bend over backwards helpful. There are those 35 stairs but you will find those everywhere in Bellagio. Overall, it was sufficient for our needs and I would stay there again.

I reserved a room for 2 people I showed up as a party of 3 and after a polite but questionable reaction from reception they accommodated us perfectly and I was only charged an add'l EU30 for my 3rd person, they found us a slightly larger room and there was a cot set up for us before we even got up to our room. A quaint hotel with exceptional service […] is what we found at Hotel Bellagio, Updated, clean and friendly every where you looked. Breakfast was as advertised as a continental breakfast and a certain handsome gentleman working there I never caught the name of made me the most delicious cappaccino's ever ! The only down side for this hotel is that is located up some 40 cobblestone steps from the main street so with luggage in tow its not to fun, but that is the only downside we experienced A+++++ for this hotel! O f the five hotels we stayed in in Italy, this was our favorite room.It was a standard with "no lake view" but we were actually facing the lake on a lower floor so we did get some view of the lake. This was our first stay in a two-star hotel in Italy and I was a bit hesitant about booking but did so due to good reviews. Glad we did - the hotel was superbly located (we didn't mind the stairs to reception) and was better than some three-star hotels we've stayed in, not sure why it's not rated higher except not a 24 hour reception and no bar fridge […] in room, could not think of anything else lacking. The pillows were actually soft, unlike in many Italian hotels, so got a good night's sleep, and the room lighting was better than most other hotels. The lady on reception was very helpful to us, printing out information for us about walks along the lake, etc., and spoke very fluent English. Perfectly adequate continental breakfast. Breakfast did not start until 8am and we first thought this would be too late for us as we had planned to catch an early ferry, but we discovered we could catch a later one instead so it was all right. Ate in the partner hotel restaurant, meals simple (pasta et al) but that was what we wanted. It closed early (ca 7pm) but we wanted an early dinner anyway and had previously been frustrated by restaurants that didn't open until after 7pm. Read more

We stayed at the Hotel Bellagio for a 2 night stay in October. The weather was changeable and we needed assistance with options for activities to suit the weather conditions. The hotel staff were superb and went over and above in their attempts to ensure we had lots of potential trips to choose from. They researched costs, times of transport, etc. for […] the trips and basically planned the whole day for us. In addition, our journey to the airport was quite lengthy and involved a number of different modes of transport. The outstanding staff planned it all for us.
