My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights. The hotel met my expectations, and we were both very satisfied. The room service for breakfast was good, and it was a good value. The bellmen out front were very nice, one even argued with a cab driver when he didn't want to drive us. Also, Beijing's subway although can get crowded during rush hours are an excellent cheap way to get around the city(2RMB) The subway station is just right around the corner from the hotel. Overall, this is a great hotel for business or leisure.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Byron the doorguy was very cheerful and was so excited to greet us every morning. The buffet was good. Rooms were clean. The bed was a little more firm then I'm used to. We were there for 4 nights and it was great. We would definitely stay there again when we come back to Beijing. I would certainly recommend the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Staff were helpful and couteous throughout, which is not always the case in Bejing. Though centrally located a taxi was genrally required to get to most tourist sights. This was not a problem as the cost of a taxi to most places cost no more than US$ 4. Upgrade to a premium room is worth considering as it includes breakfast and use of the business centre with internet and free "happy hour" drinks and snacks.

The room was fab, very clean, large, and comfortable. Our room was on the 15th floor so we also had great views of Beijing. The room service is great and the food was very good (and reasonably priced). Internet was a tad expensive but there are plenty of internet cafes about if you are looking for a cheaper option there. Rooms and staff were great. Meals at in-house restaurants were overpriced, but that's relative to other restaurants, not to what a similar meal in the US would cost, they were quite competitive in that sense. Best part of the hotel is the proximity to the subway. Its 25 steps to the brand new Line 5, the "Dengshiku" stop, from which you can get literally anywhere in Beijing. The Temple of Heaven, the Silk Market, a Vegetarian Buffet restaurant, Lama Temple, Confucious Temple, and the Zoo/Aquarium were each a simple 2 yuan (about 28 cents) subway ride away. All signs were in Chinese and English, the trains ran VERY frequently, and although crowded, I felt it was better than struggling to communicate with a taxi driver and wonder if they were ripping you off on their route (In 9 days and maybe 20 taxi rides, I feel I got 18 good deals and 2 "scenic routes"). There's a Starbucks 10 feet from the front door, local restaurants steps away, convenience stores all over, and an HSBC branded ATM designed solely for foreign ATM cards in the lobby of the office tower right next door, so my card (non-HSBC) never even locked up. Easy walking to Wangfujing (lots of malls and restaurants), 15 min walk to Tianenmen Square & the Forbidden City. Smoking rooms really do smell like smoke, so if that bothers you, be sure to request non-smoking. Great place!

The Park Plaza hotel at Wangfujing is one of the best hotel experiences I've had in extended memory. The rooms are clean, spacious, and the maid service is on the spot with any requests you have and/or cleaning your room. The entire staff is polite, courteous, accomodating and all of them speak decent to very good English (something a non-Chinese speaker will quickly appreciate their first day in Beijing). In addition to the excellent above-and-beyond-service of the staff, the convenience factor is a huge plus. The North-South 5th subway line is literally just downstairs, and Wangfujing street and the East West 1st subway line are all within 5-10 minutes of walking. The positioning of the hotel, which is away from any congested main streets, makes it so hailing a cab guarantees that the cab driver can take you any direction of the city without having to take a circuitous route. Highly recommended.
