"Great Location, A Bit Dated"
The Viking Lodge is in an excellent location. We stayed for 2 nights and once we parked our car we never hopped back in for the duration of our stay. We could walk to get groceries, to restaurants, and to great hiking trails. The town has a free gondola connecting to the Mountain Village so we took that a couple times. The lodge itself had a comfortable enough bed and a small kitchen area. Our only complaints were that the room was outdated - it had a very tiny bathroom and some blinds were missing from one of the windows - and no air conditioner. Nights were cool, but when we first went to bed it was rather hot for our late June trip. Given the price and location, I would stay here again.

"Telluride in the Fall"
Nice location, nice facility, easy to walk to everything. This was a Condo, not a hotel, so it was not clear in the booking or confirmation process that I need to call another number to receive check in info. After calling a couple of numbers I was able to figure this out, but shouldn't have to. I separate confirmation from Viking Lodge should have been sent immediately to clarify this.

"Parking and Bike Racks"
We enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed for our family with young kids. Great location next to the river trail, and convenient access to the gondola. Heated pool was closed for the season for our visit in early October. Hot tub was only open from 4pm-8pm. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Need more parking spaces. 2. Need more bicycle parking. 3. I had to go to a different hotel to find out how to check in. No one answered the hotel number, and there is no lobby with staff at the counter. Eventually found check-in location up on the main street a few blocks away.

"Unsafe"
We had a difficult time getting into our condo because we didn't fully understand that we needed to go to another location to check-in. Once we figured out where to go and got our key we found a paper with the lock box combinations to about 100 other condos in the area that someone had left outside our unit, it included ours.

"BEAUTIFUL PLACE ON THE RIVER"
06/30/15 judi s New York City, New York
The Viking is well located, large and roomy and has the best view in town-the wonderful river! Ideal for sunbathing and picnics. The complex has a swimming pool with great chaise lounges. The kitchen gave us the opportunity to save money on breakfast by eating some meals home.

"Great condo in a great location."

Stayed at Viking Lodge Unit #212 for the bluegrass festival. The owners/ managers Mindy and Tom were great to deal with. Unit was very clean and comfortable. Perfect for 2 people. Althought it sleeps 4 with a fold out couch, it would be tight quarters. The unit had a balcony overlooking the river, river trail and the absolutely stunning Rockies. Wonderful place to have coffee or drinks and watch people coming down the trail or the river.

"Unit # 304 worked out great for us"

We spent a week in unit 304 booked through Telluride Resort Lodging. We were a group of two and the condominium was perfectly appropriate for our needs. The location is great with a 5 minute walk to chair 7 and a 10 - 12 minute walk to the Gondola and downtown. There are a couple of very good restaurants and bars right next to the lodge complex. The unit itself had one queen sized bed as well as 2 bunk beds. I would imagine this unit to be perfect for a family with a couple of kids, any more people than that and it would quickly get crowded. The hot tub and pool onsite were great and certainly utilized after a day on the slopes. Free WiFi in the unit was an appreciated amenity. The only issues we had were that the walls seemed pretty thin and therefore you could hear music/conversations coming from adjacent units. But this was no big deal for us as we were so tired after skiing all day we had no problems sleeping. Additionally, the TV in this unit was pretty small, but now I'm just nitpicking. Overall we were very pleased with the unit and complex and would not hesitate to stay there again.

"This property is in an excellent location."

We were offered apartment 220 as an upgrade by the Telluride Alpine Lodging company. It is a lovely apartment, if a bit dated. There were only 2 of us so we had plenty of space. if here had been more of us and we had to use the murphy bed things may have been a bit awkward, but as it was we had a dining room/boot area, plenty of storage space as we used the bunk beds and a bedroom. The lay out is a little odd as the kitchenette is in the bedroom and the bathroom off the dining/murphy bed room, but for two of this this did not matter too much. There is enough equipment in the kitchenette to cook most things which was handy. The Viking Lodge itself is well placed on the river, the apartments has a small balcony overlooking the river. It is possible to almost ski back to the door and to ski along the river to get nearer to lift 7. Other residents were very friendly, both those that owned apartments and those renting. The hot tub was great, but the pool a little cold in the winter. It is due for an external refurb this year, so the building is well looked after. A point to note is that there are two buildings, only one has a lift, our cab dropped us by the main entrance at 3.30 am, and we had trouble finding 220 as it was the other end of the building, we did not know at the time, but it would have been better to get the lift to the second floor, along the landing, across the walk way to the other building, along the walkway and then down one floor. Many of the apartments in the building have been refurbed so do not judge them all by this review, this is one of the few apartments that has not been touched in a long while, but it was pleasant and comfortable never the less.

"Always a great stay. "

We always stay here when we come to Telluride, which is about 3-5 times a year. Never a bad experience, the condos are clean, in the best part of town. Well stocked, and Tom, the on site manager is more than welcoming and willing to bend over backwards to help you with any issues. Love the location, the people, and the condo.

"Room #210 modern, clean, awesome!!"
03/07/14 highlandertx
Ms. Mindy coordinated everything with us and could not have been more helpful. The condo unit was recently updated and had all of the modern appliances which was fantastic. And the cleanliness was more than I could have hoped for. The full size bed was a disappointment by after a hard day's skiing I was too tired to care. It also helped that it was only a three minute walk to the gondola that took us to mountain village. Overall a fantastic complaint-free stay!

"Budget hotel comfy rooms"

People who write poor reviews and insults about Viking Lodge should remember what it costs. You don't get the Ritz but you don't pay for it either. Older rooms but warm and comfortable. Massively warm Irish welcome from Michelle. 10mins from Temple Bar. Local bar, Arlington Legends good value. A good overnighter or long weekend.

"Viking Lodge, #214"
03/28/12 Deborah D Waynesburg, Pennsylvania
Viking Lodge is conveniently located - 1/2 block from Galloping Goose bus stop. Our particular unit was adequate / average. Our unit was advertised as could sleep four; however, this would have been extremely inconvient if not impossible. the outside entrance led right into the sleeping area - which was a double, Murphy bed. There was a futon along the wall, but I don't think there was room to open and if we had four people, there would have been zero privacy. Some of the drawers in the bureau (which was more like a recycled entertainment center) were broken, so there really wasn't adequate drawer space to unpack, etc. The bathroom looks to have been recently remodeled and was very nice and the same for the small kitchen area.

"Viking Lodge #313 is delightful"

On a recent round about driving trip we opted to spend 2 nights in Telluride. This condo rental was so nice....clean, well laid out, comfortable and wonderfully decorated. The flat panel tv's were great addition as well as all of the storage space. The beds were comfortable and the hosts were gracious. They live right next door! While we didn't make much use of the kitchen, it was a nice touch. Two burner stove, small dishwasher and fridge and microwave. Fully stocked with utensils and cookware. No oven, but I don't think that you would miss that. Separate sink/shower/toilet area allowed for several family members to groom in stages. Everything in this unit reflected the care that the managers took in the remodel and upkeep of this unit. It was so relaxing to sit on the window seat overlooking the river while watching the moonrise after a long day of hiking and fun!
