Barcelona’s Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city’s medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don’t miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d’Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.

This hotel is in a great location, very close to La Rambla, metro stations and a lot of restaurants. The staff at the hotel was incredible, very friendly and helpful. My room had floor to ceiling windows with a great view. The hotel courtyard was great place to chill out after a day of walking around. The only issue was the bathroom, it was a little uncomfortable the way is layout, especially when you are sharing the room with two other people. The shower share a sliding door with the toilet and is not an actual bathroom, the room just has a partial wall that divide the bathroom area from the rest of the room, it is not privet at all. I definitely will stay again at this hotel!

The location of this hotel is excellent. There is a bus directly to and from the airport to Plaza Catalunya, which is a major savings over a cab. Also, the Bus Turistic stops in Plaza Catalunya as well and it is convenient for walks to Las Ramblas and Passeig de Gracias. The room was a little small and the bathroom, while stylish, was not that practical nor comfortable to use. The staff, however, were always pleasant and helpful. Never used the restaurant as it appeared overpriced.

Our room was small and oddly designed, although it was interesting and reasonably comfortable. I was very pleased with the central location as we were able to walk to most attractions. There is a small car rental office right next to the hotel which came in quite handy on a rainy day, and lots of tourist traps in the immediate area. But we found terrific restaurants very close by and nice cafe's and bars, perfect for watching the sidewalk traffic and street entertainers. I would certainly stay at the Olivia Plaza again in the future.

We arrived late on Saturday night with pouring rain. The hotel staff was very helpful with recommendation of different Spanish cuisine nearby, grocery store and metro are just a block away, Catheral Church in Gothic quarter and La Rambla within walking distance, all very convenient. The hotel is nicely decorated but it is not sound-proof as we can hear the next door came in at 5am in the morning talking, laughing, and watching TV. Also, a few things in the room is still confusing such as the light switches (we never figure it out how to just turn the night lamp on without turning on ALL the lights in the room). But with the low season price and awesome location, it was a great choice for what we need.

I have just got back from a stay in Barcelona and was more than pleased with everything. This is the 1st time I have visited this city and had slight reservations. However the place was sublime with more things to do and see than the 4 days allowed me. The hotel Olivia Plaza was divine also. It was centrally located near to the tourist bus which was a must to see the sites and well priced at 26 euro's each for a 2 day unlimited pass. On entering the hotel the modern feel of the reception area was impressive. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The room was great and both myself and my girlfriend said how we could have stayed there for much, much longer. It was ultra modern with glass walls and high gloss finish to panels etc. Flat screen TV and large bed made it ideal. The only slight downpoint was that the walls/floor did let a little noise through but I dont have issues sleeping and so this made no difference. Overall this is a fantastic hotel and 1 that I would without doubt stay in again.

We were very pleased with the Olivia Plaza Hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent -- right in the Placa de Cataluyna at the top of La Rambla. (We took a bus from the airport to the Placa de Catalunya and only had to walk less than a block to the hotel.) Despite being in such a busy plaza, the rooms were very quiet. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony on the 9th floor overlooking the plaza, and we didn't hear any noise from the streets below. The hotel is very modern and fully updated with air conditioning and multiple amenities. The room was nicely decorated in a modern, minimalist style, the bed was comfortable (important after a long international flight) and the shower was hot and strong. My only complaint is that we had some confusion about breakfast. We asked the bellman if the buffet was complementary, and he said yes. As we were eating, though, someone from the restaurant brought us a bill for 20 Euro each. We explained that we thought the buffet was included, and he said no, there's a charge. The buffet was fine when we thought that it was free, but it was not worth 20 Euro per person. I'd skip the buffet but definitely would plan on staying at this hotel again in the future.

The location of this hotel really can't be beat. It is located right in Catalunya Plaza with easy access to everything. One tip - take the bus from the airport - it will drop you right near the hotel & costs much less than a cab. The only thing we had a little trouble with was that the water was always warm - it was somewhat difficult to get cold water to come out of the tap and shower -- but that is of course better than the opposite! All in all, a great hotel.

This is a fantastic location and the hotel staff is helpful and prompt. The rooms are small, but efficient and comfortable. We experienced several very quiet nights, but also 2 very noisy nights; the walls seem to transfer sound easily. The hotel restaurant was pleasant, but (typically) slow service and I was served rotten lettuce with no dressing for "salad". In both of these events, the staff took immediate action to correct the problems. We stayed in many 3 star hotels in Spain, and they all provided robes, I would expect this 4 star to do likewise, and they did not.
