The hotel was very special. I am a big fan of Gio Ponti and it was fun to stay in one of his special creations. The people at the hotel were helpful and friendly and the room was amazing with awesome views to the sea.thanks.

We spent 7 nights at the hotel and enjoyed everything about the hotel. Our room was the largest that we have ever had in Europe. The hotel is situated away from the city center but is only about a 10 - 15 minute walk. The views and grounds are amazing and the hotel has a beautiful private beach. We didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff but […] what interaction was average and not overly good or bad. The only bad experience we had was when we took the shuttle to the bus to leave we were dropped off about 10 blocks andhad to walk with all of our luggage. They did not tell us that up front. Teh hotel has commanding views, itis clean and the personnelis friendly........that is if you can FIND the hotel. The hotel claims to be in Sorrento, but you can not find it on most of the hotel maps avaialble in Sorrento. The address they give, (Via Rota 1) is not the actual address of the hotel, and it cannot be reached unless you stop a few times […] and ask about the directions. The GPS cannot locate the address of Via Rota 1 as well, even though I had most up-to-date maps of the Amalfitan coast and Sorrento,.... so trying to find the hotel using the GPS is useless. Besides, it is quite far(20-30 mins walk) from the city (Sorrento) center. Even though it is clean and the breakfast is quite sartisfactory, the furniture of the rooms transports you to the late 60th or early 70th. The matresses and pillows are all filled with plastic foam and not very comfortale. A '5 star' hotel should have better sleeping amenities. The views from the hotel windows are however magnificent. There are, however, many other '5 stars' hotels in Sorrento that have similar views, and room prices and are much more modern, and closer to the city center. Would I rent again at this hotel ?......ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! Read more

We stayed at the Parco dei Principi for 5 nights. When we got there we were amazed by the views. The whole property was well-groomed and clean. The only downfall was after 5 pm you are not allowed to go down to the beach if you are not wearing dress pants. We had just arrived at the hotel and were going down to take pictures when we were scolded for […] wearing shorts and were not allowed down. You also can only enjoy a bottle of wine from your room. Very inconvenient especially since most of the seating areas on the water were empty. Very convenient to walk into town (about 15 minutes). This hotel was complete luxury! The staff were helpful the location was good about a 10 min walk to the town Center although there was a shuttle if you didn't want to walk. The views were amazing and the attention to detail in everything from the building to the making of your bed was above and beyond.

The hotel is overlooking the Bay of Naples. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was extremely comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking the botanical gardens which surround the hotel on 3 sides with the beautiful Bay of Naples on the other. It was a short walk down into Sorrento with nice views of Sorrento […] harbour and the Bay of Naples on the way down. It was very easy to get around and the hotel restaurant served some very nice food. Breakfast was a huge buffet with many different kinds of goodies to eat for breakfast. As we visited over the Christmas period all the trees in the botanical garden were lit up at night which was very pretty. Its easy to visit Pompei from Sorrento by train and the cost of a return ticket is only 3.40 euros. We also got a bus down to Amalfi which ran along the coast and was also not expensive. We both enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone. Read more

We stayed here for a week and although the staff, service and room were excellent, the food could have been better. Breakfast was the same every morning and we would have liked to have seen more of a variety of cooked items. We only ate in the hotel the first evening we were there and found the food to be average, but expensive. We ate out every night […] after that. It is quite a way out of the centre of Sorrento, but it is in a quiet, beautiful 2 acre garden with amazing trees and plants. The situation on the cliff is wonderful with fantastic views over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, Ischia with Naples itself in the distance. Parking is available at 15 Euros a night, which is quite expensive. We took the hotel complimentary shuttle bus into Sorrento in the evenings and either had a longish walk back or took a taxi from Piazza Tasso. Our room had a sea view with a balcony and it was lovely waking up in the morning with the beautiful panoramic scene before us. A nice touch is the little gift of local sweets each evening, which are delivered to your room. All the staff were lovely, the hotel and gardens kept in great condition and the room/bathroom very clean and comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to a friend, but would tell them about our experience with the food. Read more

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at in Italy. The location was wonderful, the beach was beautiful. They had a free buffet which by Italian standards was pretty good. They provided a free shuttle which took you within 2 blocks of the train station and the City Center. We would stay there again.

We first stayed at this hotel 8 years ago and were very impressed. A return visit has not left us disappointed - the grounds and general location are superb, the overall condition and facilities are just as goodm with the sea level areas, 'beach' and restaurant add ed bonuses. Parco Dei Principi is a wonderful hotel, set amongst fantastic gardens. The staff couldn't be any more helpful or friendly (even down to a smiling buon-journo from the maids in the morning). The hotel restuarant is a little overpriced (and not overwhelmed with patrons) considering there are some wonderful places to eat within Piazza Tasso just 20mins […] walk away. My only issue was with Expedia and not the hotel, in that despite receiving emails that all was well, when I checked into the hotel they did not have my reservation and I was lucky to get the only room available that night. Expedia, once called, did forward the reservation to the hotel to clear things up, but I would suggest that a call direct to the hotel a couple of weeks before your arrival would be worth it to check Expedia has done their job correctly! Here it is straight! Me and wife stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon. We were travelling from Canada and were excited about the trip. This place and people that stay here are HIGH class. If you do not own designer clothes or walk with your nose in the air... you won't fit in. Period. Once we got our key we went to our hotel room. Our bathroom was filthy. Mold in the shower and hair everywhere. Our window to our balcony was broken and we were very upset. I went and talked to the manager, who said they only had one other room available. It just so happened that it was probably one of the best rooms in the hotel. On the lower second floor, carved out of rock... with a beautiful ocean view and private terrace. So lets just say this. The view was unreal. But overall our stay was not great at this hotel and we will not return. We could not afford to eat at the hotel. (50 EUR per person... per meal ... yikes!) Sorrento is a 15 EUR cab ride... so come prepared for that. If you want a great view... there isn't anything better! Read more

Unfortunately the spectacular views over the Bay of Napes from the hotel were the only 5 star part of this hotel. On arrival the staff were very helpful, showing us to our room and advising of the hotel facilities. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there. This hotel would have to be the loudest hotel I have every stayed in because the whole hotel […] is tiled and every sound echoes off the hard surfaces, guests need to be aware of this. We had 5 nights of interrupted sleep because of the noise. On the first night of our stay there was a wedding reception in the restaurant and when the staff were resetting the room at 1.00am for breakfast we were rudely awakened by the screeching sound of furniture being dragged around for the next hour. There was also another wedding on the 2nd night but it was outdoors on the terrace so the noise didn't affect us although on both these nights guests were relegated to another room for dinner which didn't have the views. Our room, whilst very large with a fantastic view, was looking rather tired as was the bathroom. The hotel provided a shuttle bus service for guests as it is about a 15-20 minute walk into the middle of Sorrento but unfortunately it only goes halfway into town and you have to walk the rest of the way! It also stopped at lunchtime until 5.00pm and then from 6.30pm which meant if you wanted to go into Sorrento for lunch or dinner you had to resort to cabs at about 25 Euro per trip. The hotel concierge wasn't exactly helpful in assisting with tours either which was a crucial factor due to the fact there are no information desks around Sorrento. When we requested information re tours we were given a typed up sheet of paper with the names of several tour companies and their tours but no information about what was actually included in the tour. This hotel is 5-star purely for the view. I had stayed at Capiadomente for my last stay in Sorrento. That hotel, like this one, has pretty basic hotel rooms. There is nothing fancy about them - but the view more than makes up for it. A wonderful buffet breakfast - huge with lots of variety. Clean, friendly staff (for the most part) and great location […] - 15minute walk into the main Tasso Square or 5 minutes in a taxi (but it will cost you about 15Euro for that!). The hotel had lovely views across the bay, but every single day there were different private functions in the hotel grounds, which were annoying and noisy to say the least, weddings, birthdays and business dinners. Every evening they would take over the only terrace overlooking […] the bay, so we would leave and head into town instead for the evening. On our return loud music would greet us until midnight or on one night until 1 oclock, so we couldn't sleep until it finished. After complaining about the situation the staff could only apologise. Oppholdet var fantastisk, og bedre service skal man lete lenge etter, men;Veiebeskrivelsen og avmerkingen på kartet hos hotel.com stemte overhode ikke med virkeligheten. Vi kom frem til anmerkningen på kartet, men der var det ikke noe hotell. Måtte gå mye lengre bort fra sentrum før vi var fremme. Vi er uforstående til hvorfor det er slik og ber nettstedet […] å rette dette opp. For oss gjorde det ikke så mye, da vi er glade i å gå, men for andre kan det bli et irritasjonsmoment. Hotellet har en vakker plassering med nydelig utsikt utover Napoli-bukten og privat strand. Solsengene er plassert på en molo, så her slipper en sand i håndklær og solkrem.
