I spent 1 day in Paris before going to a business trip in another city in France. I wanted to stay close to Gare de Lyon. This hotel is 10 mins walking away from Gare de Lyon. It's also right at the Bastille square, 2-3 minutes away from the metro stop, so the location worked well for sightseeing too. We haven't checked out the restaurants around the […] hotel but there seems to be a fair amount of restaurants/bars close by too. I stayed in a small room (by choice, I was looking for a cheap but decent option). Overall I was happy with my stay; clean hotel, friendly staff at the reception, and the hotel serves a nice breakfast (it was included in my case, not sure if it is always included). I'd stay there again if I go to another short Paris sightseeing trip. Read more

Surprisingly good for a more than decent location. By far the nicest hotel we stayed at in Paris in this price bracket. We never tried the breakfast, so I can't vouch for its quality or value -- 14 euros for breakfast did seem a little on the pricy side.

The room was very small, but probably typical for Paris. Only a block from the Bastille and close to a Metro stop. The bed was big and quite comfortable. Location is very good. Gare de Lyon(RER station) about ten minutes' walking distance and metro station is even closer. Room is clean but needs renovation. Quiet enough, if you're not using a room close to the elevator. Not bad, but not very attractive either.

The Hotel Bastille was conveniently located. We could walk to Notre Dame, Rue St Antoine, (where the shopping was great), and the Metro was a block away at the Opera House. The manager, Richard, was very helpful and made reservations for us at a special restaurant. All the staff we met were wonderful. Terrific location. Very pleasantly appointed. Typically small Parisian room size, but very manageable. My two sons and I found the triple a bit tight, but this was offset by the great breakfast and friendly service. Would happily return and recommend.

Small hotel but great service and comfortable rooms. We had a quad room for 2 adults and 2 small kids which was great for a few days in Paris. Great location close to metro, buses and Le Open Tour bus. Nice breakfast as well. Would stay again.

Good location within walking distance to metro. Otherwise nothing else is good about this hotel. It is expensive ($250/night in July) but not clean, staff not warm or friendly, which may be typical of most Paris hotels. They didn't have soap in the bathroom, carpets were very dirty, showerhead didn't work, breakfast was so so.

The room was small, similar to other Paris Hotels. But it was clean, quiet and AC worked well. The bed was comfortable, except for the pillows. Staff was very accommodating and spoke fluent English. The breakfast offered a good fresh assortment of offerings.

Really nice hotel. Great feel. Cozy. Rooms are on the small side but very cozy. Parking is in the opera across the the street and it was very pricey. 20 Euros per night. I would stay there again but catch the train or bus to the hotel. Overall very nice hotel.

Dates of stay 6/9/12 - 6/13/12. Staff spoke good english, was always extremely helpful and courteous. Gave good advice and recommendations. Breakfast was included in my room rate, was very nicely done. Reserved a Junior suite, comfortably slept 4. Two bathrooms, was a plus! Bathrooms have 110 volt outlets. Had a room on the back street that was quiet. […] AC was not on. However, outdoor temps were in the low 60's so just kept windows open, was fine. Plenty of great restaurants & bars close by, just ask staff to show you best streets. Rue de Lyon is a little rough looking in spots (some grafitti) but nice areas on other sides of Bastille square. Paris is expensive! This place is a bargain! Location is outstanding. Walk to Notre Dame/Ile de Cite/St. Chappelle. Metro is across the street. We used Metro/RER extensively to go everywhere. Easy, fast & cheap! Didn't like leaving key at the desk but, was a minor inconveinience. Small bar in lobby (desk clerk is also bar tender) good for a night cap or quick beer. Took RER B train from Charles de Gaul airport, xferred to RER A at Chatelet de Halle, then one stop to Gare de Lyon station. Walked up Rue de Lyon with roller luggage, about 3 - 4 blocks. Worked great. Reversed that for trip back to the airport. Acceptance of U.S. Credit cards is spotty in Paris, but between a Visa, MC, and AMEX, one always worked where-ever we were. Have spares. Giving 4 overall due to neighborhood lacks charm, but highly recommend! Read more

I have stayed out hotels all over the world. I was a flight attendant for years and stayed at many hotels. I asked the day time clerk to call the moulin rough for tickets. She called and said, they had tickets available. I discussed it with my mom and came downstairs to book the tickets. When I came downstairs the evening clerk was on shift. He said, […] there are no tickets available and too difficult to buy tickets. I insisted that he call and check. So, he called and said i got lucky because there was a cancelation. He then told me I need to pay him 10.00 euros for making the reservation. When I attended the show I asked another couple if they had to pay there hotel to make the reservation. They told me no. The next day I asked the day time clerk if the hotel charged for making a reservation. She told me no and told me she would ask her collegue. Another night I asked the hotel to call for a taxi. There was a taxi stand up the street.The day time clerk called a taxi far away and when he arrived in 10 minutes he started the meter at 10.00 euros. The drive was only about 15 minutes and he charged me 27.00 euros. On the way home i only paid 11.00 euro. paid the taxi 20 euros because i was overcharged. The next day the day time clerk told me he was going to call the police. I told her the hotel overcharged me. When I checked out i asked for my 10.00 euros and the clerk told me he didn't know what I was talking about then later said, we are even from the taxi. Read more

The room was small but I assume that is Paris hotel standards. 4 of us in one room, 2 twin and 1 double. Beds comfortable. We were only there to shower and sleep so the size was not a problem. Room rather warm, and the street noisy if you open the window. No air conditioner. I cannot imagine how hot the room is in the summer! Reception staff were great. […] We arrived mid morning and we were able to safely store our luggage in an area in the lobby and go sight seeing. The room was dark due to the decor, but clean and comfortable. Beds were made daily and received fresh towels. The elevator was too small. We had to make two trips to get the room with our luggage. While the male staff at the front desk when we checked in was not unfriendly, but he got agitated when we asked him whether we could leave our luggage there for a few days as we would return and stay there for another couple of nights. We recently stayed in the Hotel Paris Bastille on a side trip to Paris while visiting England. I had read many reviews and done lots of research on the area prior to booking. The hotel was very reasonably priced for the area, so I was naturally somewhat skeptical. I was more than pleasantly surprised upon arrival to find that the hotel is within view […] upon exiting the metro station and is in a great area. My family felt completely safe walking around both during the day and at night. The hotel is a European style venue so the rooms are smaller than those you may be accustomed to if traveling within the U.S., but we wanted to experience the European way of doing things and loved the room. The front desk personnel could not have been more helpful and spoke wonderful English. We arrived earlier than expected and our room was not ready. The hotel happily stored our luggage in a locked area until we could check into our room. They gave us directions to all of the frequently visited sites and had maps, etc. available to help when necessary. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Hotel Paris Bastille and will definitely book there again on my next visit to Paris. Read more

The hotel is located right next to the Bastille and next to both a Metro station and L'OpenTour bus-stop (site-seeing bus). The location is great and it is easy to get around. Also, there are many restaurants and bars in the area. At night you can find tons of things to do. Other than that, the service is perfect. The stuff is welcoming and generous […] and their English is good (which is important around Paris!!). The rooms may be a bit small, but over all the services the hotel provides (free wireless and breakfast included - at least that was my case) are more than satisfying. The complimentary breakfast was served until 10 and offered meat, cheese, fresh fruit and pastry in addition to regular breakfast fare. The metro was one stop away.
