This place got great reviews and was rated #2 place to stay in Gatlinburg but we were very dissappointed. The ceiling had water spots and some places where starting to droop. Doors were broken/off their tracks. No cable in the bedroom. Very hard matress and didn't get much sleep. It is also a drive into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. If you plan on going into these places I would stay closer. Plus side is very nice scenary. Good view of the mountains. We will not be staying here again.

These were nice little condos for the money. The view is really pretty up there but just know that to get there the road is really steep and curvy so make sure you go in daylight hours. Also its a bit aways from the gatlinburg but that was part of what I enjoyed about it. You can also buy firewood pretty cheaply where you check in and there's a little market and pizza place only 5 min down the road that has starter logs. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

This was a Spring Break vacation with just my children. They love the place as much as I did with such beautiful view and satisfying comfort. Of course, you have to get use being so high up in the mountains and the wind blowing so hard. After the storm night with 50 mph wind, it was scary but the structure of the building was well built. I love the "journal" that each room has for each family to write in their adventure to share with others. Great idea. That's what gave me the confident of the building structure from another family that had an "adventure" stormy night. Anyway, it was wonderful stay, great places to go to whether you are sight seeing Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge or just hannging out at the resort. Thank you Mom, daughter and son.

We were very surprised at the elevation of this place. A 10 minute drive from Gatlinburg but a world away from all the downtown traffic too. The view was great. The room was nice but it's a condominium and services are limited. The cielings are not sound proof so one night of our stay was sleepless from some noisy neighbors. If you get a 3rd floor room this can be avoided. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will probably return but will insist on a top floor room.

Thoroughly enjoyed stay at Deer Ridge with a breathtaking view. We were in room E105 - with a queen bed in one room and a king in another. When they say full kitchen - they really mean it! Full size flat-top range, dishwasher, garbage disposal. It was great! A brilliant idea was having a crock pot in the kitchen. I put a meal on in the morning - and we had a home cooked meal waiting for us that night. Very friendly and accomodating staff!

The rooms are no better than any other hotel/condo, everything is clean and it has all the typical amenities. What really sets this place apart is the view from your condo. Waking up every morning to look out the window or stand on the balcony and have an uninhibited view of the smokie fog covered mountains as far as the eye could see was just awesome. We've stayed at the log cabins in Gatlinburg before, and if you're looking for total seclusion then may be this is not the place for you. We were looking for a 'view from the top' and we surely got it.

The Deer Ridge Mountain Resort says it has "The Best View of the Smokies" and it is absolutely true! We awoke to a beautiful view of the mountains in fall - we couldn't have asked for a better view. The one thing to note is that because it is the best view of the Smokies, it is up in the mountains, which means the drive up there is very steep. We arrived at night without knowing this so it would have been nice to know. The full kitchen includes all the appliances you have at home - coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, etc. The room had all the comforts of home. It was close enough to Gatlinburg to enjoy the city but far enough away so that you can get away from the crowds and relax. I would highly recommend this hotel. Oh, and make sure you use powdered dishwasher soap in the dishwasher - liquid leaves bubbles in the kitchen.

On the downside, the hotel rooms were getting old, and the people staying on the floor above walking around were a bit too loud for us.

This resort/condo style hotel is way up in the mountains just outside of Gatlinburg it is NOT around the tourist attractions which was AWESOME becuase it was peaceful, quiet, and serene. It is very close to maybe 10-15 minutes outside of the main Gatlinburg busy street strip with shops but we did not want to stay int he busy area. Deer Ridge is up this very steep and windy road to the top and we were sort of scared at first going up there but it was fantastic and beautiful and extremely peaceful. I would NEVER stay at a busy regular hotel anymore when I am looking for a break away from the normal hustle and bustle of life as it is. The staff were so courteous and helpful, we bought firewood and had a fire every night. The bed and the couch were very uncomfortable and that is about it. They could maybe upgrade those. This is basically an old apartment/condo buildings that they turned into rentals and it is gorgeous and worth your money and stay.

It was our second visit to Deer Ridge and it was just as wonderful this time as it was the first time around. We went to Deer Ridge for our 25Th wedding anniversary and we could not have celebrated it in a better place. It was romantic, quiet and peaceful, the view as always was spectacular. The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable We are looking forward to our next 25 years and many more trips back to Deer Ridge.

Let me begin by saying that this hotel is beautiful in regards to the surroundings. The hotel has everything it states - full kitchen, dining area, livingroom, beautiful mountain view. However, the office staff is off duty between 11 P.M. and 7 A.M. Our first night, the people above us were very loud from 11:30 P.M. until around 1:00 A.M. We dealt with it and enjoyed the rest of the time once they were finally quiet. The next night at 1 A.M., the people above us began having a party. After 2 attempts to handle this ourselves by speaking with the people above us, we attempted to call the office several times. They have no emergency answer line or alternate solution to problems that occur during the time that they are "closed." We ended up checking out the next morning at 7 A.M. because we have a 2 yr old that hadn't slept at all in 24 hours. After 2 nights of loud disturbances, we couldn't risk another night of no sleep. The front desk manager stated at 7 A.M. that she could offer us another room however couldn't give us a number in case of another occurance like the previous nights. We told her that we couldn't risk it and would be going home. She stated she understood and stated that the remaining 3 nights we had already paid for would be taken care of, however she needed to speak with her manager. I called back the next day and was told that she was working on it. Still no call back 2 days later so I left a message for the GM. He didn't call back, so I called hotels.com and they got through to the GM immediately. (surprise, surprise!) He informed them that they would not be giving any credit for the 3 nights due to them offering us alternate accomidations. Had the alternate accomidations been offered anytime during the night, we would GLADLY taken them up on the offer. Please be aware that if you have ANY problems between 11 P.M. and 7 A.M., you will be completely on yout own and that they will not refund any portion of your funds even though they were not there t

Great views from the condo. Price was good. Although it was a bit of a drive to Gatlinburg and the main north entrance to the park, I think it was best to be away from the noise and have such an excellent view. We really enjoyed it.

If you are wanting a hotel experience away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge but still close by, this is a great hotel to stay at. It is 11 miles outside of the downtown area, which is a little bit of a drive. But I loved it. The greatest aspect about this hotel is the view. To get to the hotel, you basically have to drive up a mountain. Once you are at the top, the view from the balcony is amazing. The attendants were very friendly, and while my wife and I didn't try out the pool, it seemed nice as well. I really didn't have any complaints.

This was our first time using hotels.com and for staying at Deer Ridge Mountain Resort and may I say we were wow'd. Although the most inconvieniant thing about the place is it's location it's also one of it's biggest selling points, so we learned really quick to make sure we had everything we needed when we left to go do things as well as when we were coming back. The condo was terrific and we loved staying there so very much, the kids begged to stay another day. I would deffinately recommend this place to anyone thinking of vacationing in the area or for a getaway. We are deffinately looking forward to returning soon.
