The room was very cozy, clean and comfortable. The view of the Smoky Mountains from our porch was amazing. We had this same view from the bed and from the jacuzzi tub. We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. I have absolutely no complaints and I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It was well worth every penny!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a real suite."
We had a suite, however for the price this is not a suite i usually get. It was very small and compact, the sleeping area and sitting area should be in seperate rooms. Was somewhat disappointed with the room. However, the location of the Lodge was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful property with nice rooms. Our first room had an unpleasant odor of sewage. Evidently a sewer line had frozen causing the problem in a few of the rooms. The staff was very accommodating, and moved us quickly. I would recommend this hotel for a nice weekend getaway!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Fabulous luxury in the Smokies"
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Great location in the hills just outside Gatlinburg giving fantastic views of the Smokies from our room and the restaurant balconies. Rooms are luxurious and attractive with all the trappings of a four star hotel. Fine dining available in the hotel's restaurant with reasonable choice of high quality dishes. Would […] not hesitate to recommend if you are seeking a luxury Smokies romantic retreat away from the tourist trap of downtown Gatlinburg.

Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect getaway location!"
We stayed 3 nights for our anniversary weekend and had a fantastic stay. The lodge was exactly what we needed as it provided an escape from the stresses of life. The staff was super welcoming and the lodge itself is just right. The size is not overwhelming, a perfect contrast to the cartoonish structures and attractions down in Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge. The room was ideal, nice space, comfortable, super clean, well equipped and every detail has been thought of. I doubt there are any rooms with a poor view of the valley. The trail to the shelter was not an easy hike but not overly strenuous either. What a spot to relax! The shelter features a great fireplace, rockers, a tv and sound system. The babbling creek just below provided the background sound to put any person at ease. If you want a home base while you explore the local tourist features this will work although the winding mountain road will become tiresome. If you want to realize the full potential of the lodge grab a bag of groceries on the way in, light the fireplace, watch the sunrise and the sunset from your balcony and soak up every minute of the experience!

Last minute trip to Gatlinburg and having not been to Gatlinburg in 10 years I had no idea where to stay. I was super impressed with the reviews for The Lodge at Buckberry Creek, along with the pics on their website. We got their around 8:30pm on Friday and it was a little dark, but once arriving at the Lodge we were warmly welcomed by Kyle. We went to our room and it was so quaint and comfy. My two requirements when booking were a Jacuzzi tub and/.or hot tub and a fireplace in my room- this had both! The bed was super comfortable and we went with the smallest room option and it was still plenty spacious. I can't say enough about how kind the entire staff was. Kyle and Christian were so fantastic and though I failed to get their names, the young lady and older gentleman working in the restaurant were SUPER accommodating and so friendly. The lodge is situated atop the mountain, about 2 miles from the strip, so heading down for dinner and activities was easy. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant at The Lodge but hope to next time. I highly recommend this place to anyone!
"Wonderful place to relax and rest"

I've been to Buckberry twice now and I can honestly say it's one of my favorite places in the world. It's strange to say when it's so close to such a touristy place like Gatlinburg, but once you go up the mountain it feels like another world. I personally enjoy reading by the fire in the main lodge, but sitting out on your balcony or down by the pavilion is also very nice. It's a wonderful treat to hike down to the Pavilion and the grounds people will light the firepits and get it set up for you. It's an easy, quick drive down to Gatlinburg if you want to visit, and it's a short drive to the National Park. The staff are always friendly and helpful and always make you feel welcome. I would recommend Buckberry to anyone and will certainly be visiting again.
"You have to see it to believe it!"

We were fortunate enough to find the Buckberry Creek Lodge. We booked it based on the pictures we saw an the reviews. Even though everything we saw and read looked great, we were blown away when we arrived. The pictures can't capture the absolute beauty of the hotel and area. The staff is warm, friendly and eager to assist with anything inquiries and services. While there, we were already planning return trips. The design and woodwork is absolutely stunning. When people say that there isn't architecture and craftsmanship like Europe, they won't think that after a stay at the Buckberry lodge. The craftsmanship is admirable! The room was spacious and the furnishings were quite comfortable. The draws in the dresser were a bit difficult to manage, but that's the only item we noticed. The views and trails are breathtaking and you can't miss the opportunity to hike down to the pavilion by the creek - can't say enough about that - you'll just have to see it for yourself. Sincerely, from two people who enjoy traveling, the Buckberry Creek Lodge is now in our Top 10!!

"Great Weekend at the Lodge at Buckberry Creek"

This weekend was just what was needed. This is a great romantic getaway for couples. We loved the out of the way location of the Lodge at Buckberry Creek. Everybody who worked there was so friendly. Breakfast was delicious! It was the best complimentary breakfast that I have had a hotel/resort. Unfortunately, we were unable to go to dinner at the lodge. However, we heard it was wonderful. The only reason that I didn't give it an excellent rating was that we felt that the kitchen would have been updated. We also stayed on the bottom level. I would recommend the top floor. We could hear the people above us walking around in the morning. We are not late sleepers, but prefer not be woke up before 7a.m. while on vacation. Overall, great place to stay in the Smokies! It is very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
"The most beautiful lodge"

The lodge is beautiful...... the surroundings the most wonderful........ rising early in the morning you can sit on the balcony watching the "smoke" rise from the mountains......... I so wished we lived closer so we could come back often...... the furniture and the fireplace made it great to just sit and relax..... nice, nice, nice
"Lodge was wonderful-Travel was a nightmare!"

If time permitted, I would share a long list of the many highlights at the Lodge at Buckberry Creek which was so peaceful and beautiful, that if I had the trip to do over, I would spend the whole 3 days at the lodge. Our group went into town for most of our time and ran from one "commercial attraction" to another. Being in traffic from Birmingham, AL to Gatlinburg the day after Thanksgiving and the following Sunday was so stressful that we will NEVER again go during a peak season, (even for the changing leaves!) Traffic through town was a nightmare. Next time I want to spend most of my visit AT the Lodge with the most beautiful scenery, the most delicious food and the nicest staff that I have ever experienced.

It is my hope to echo some of the same comments listed in other reviews. I can tell you that this is a fantastic location for a weekend, week-long getaway. I routinely go to Trip Advisor to select a trip location. This trip was no different. It was rated the highest in Gatlinburg. My expectations were very high when reading the other reviews. It honestly was everything that I read about. The location is about halfway up the mountain above the town of Gatlinburg and the top of the mountain Ober Gatlinburg. It is going to sound like a broken record, but the room we had was approx. 700 sq ft. We had a bedroom, huge bathroom/Jacuzzi tub, family room, kitchen, patio on ground level. It was perfect frankly! We got in late evening to the hotel. The service was excellent. There is a gazebo with blankets and a gas fire pit which we used every night we were there. The staff came out to the gazebo at any moment to light the fire. There is another fire pit located on the side of the main building. You can find an empty spot around every turn if you want alone time. We actually fell asleep on the gazebo Saturday night. I have to agree with the more recent comments about the restaurant. It is pricey and OK. I probably would not eat there again for dinner but the pork chop and scallops were really good. The scallops were the best I have eaten, it was just that the portions were small. There are just too many places in town to eat great food and get larger portions. The huge positive that I liked was the ability to get downtown quickly without any traffic and to the national park entrance. The staff can give you the back way in and out of the area so that you do not have to fight the Pigeon Forge traffic. Definitely ask for the map!!!!! It saved us at least 3 hours of sitting in traffic coming home. We really enjoyed the trip and would recommend this location to our best friends.
We enjoyed staying at The Lodge at Buckberry! It was the perfect location and the view was spectacular! The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home! The room gave you a feeling of old time, while being very modern! We recommend the lodge for anyone wanting a mountain experience with modern conveniences! We will stay again!
