The room was very cozy, clean and comfortable. The view of the Smoky Mountains from our porch was amazing. We had this same view from the bed and from the jacuzzi tub. We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. I have absolutely no complaints and I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It was well worth every penny!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a real suite."
We had a suite, however for the price this is not a suite i usually get. It was very small and compact, the sleeping area and sitting area should be in seperate rooms. Was somewhat disappointed with the room. However, the location of the Lodge was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful property with nice rooms. Our first room had an unpleasant odor of sewage. Evidently a sewer line had frozen causing the problem in a few of the rooms. The staff was very accommodating, and moved us quickly. I would recommend this hotel for a nice weekend getaway!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Weekend Getaway"
Other than the Breakfast service being slow, our stay was fantastic! Outdoor dining was awesome & room was better than expected. Will likely come back in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed there in October of 2011 for a mini honeymoon. It is a perfect place for a romantic getaway with all the amentities. Great views and very private/exclusive. Food was very good but appetizer portions were small for the price. Rooms were clean, good sized and very rustic. Down side was that walls and ceiling are poorly insulated and sounds from […] neighbors on all four sides can be heard. Don't expect any Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lodge at Buckberry Creek"
Living in the foothills of the Adirondacks we were so impressed with the Adirondack feel of the lodge. We needed some R&R and this was place for us. This would be the perfect setting for an intimate wedding or family reunion. We can't wait to go back!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A gem in the wilderness"
Buckberry Creek Lodge was a pleasant surprise after driving through the honky-tonk clutter of Pigeon Forge. It is rustic and quaint and I mean that in the best sense. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our suite was very comfortable with gas fireplace, nice balcony overlooking the woods, large whirlpool bath, walk-in shower, full kitchen which would […] allow you to stay a week and cook-in if you chose to do so. Although keeping with the rustic theme, it had all the modern conveniences (including free WIFI) and appeared relatively newly built or refurbished. We had dinner in the dining room which was excellent. No need to worry about navigating steep, twisting East Tennessee roads after a bottle of wine. If you want close to Gatlinburg downtown without the traffic and noise, this is for you. We can't wait to return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Place to stay in Gatlinburg!!"
Can't say enough good things about our one night stay at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek!!! We drove in for the one night because our son was getting married at a local covered bridge. Our small group of eight needed a place to go to dinner right after the service, and we had made reservations for dinner at the lodge. I couldn't have picked a more beautiful, […] private place with the best food. We were in our own room, were not rushed, had full access to the outdoor fire, view, etc. For a special occasion, it was wonderful! Couldn't imagine trying to find a place to eat in all the craziness of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Our room for the night was so nice, very modern with rustic accents (wooden furniture, fireplace) the bathroom was beautiful, everything was super CLEAN! The fridge had bottled water, creamer for coffee, cookies on our pillow! The next morning we had a continental breakfast at the lodge on the wrap around porch overlooking the Smokie Mtns. next to the outdoor fireplace!! Really felt like we were living the DREAM! They even had blankets if you were chilled. Every little detail was thought out , can't say enough good things about our stay at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek! Just sad we could only stay one night. If our schedule would have permited we would have loved to have checked out the hiking trails & grounds. Maybe next time! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hidden Gem in the Smokies"
This hotel exceeded our expectations; my girlfriend and I visited for a long weekend over Labor Day and were very impressed by the service and friendliness as well as ammenities like the continental breakfast and awesome hiking trails and camps around the property. It's nice to be so close to downtown Gatlinburg, but still miles away in terms of noise […] and privacy. Probably wouldn't visit in winter, because the roads would be really dangerous, but will definitely be going back in the spring! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fabulous luxury in the Smokies"
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Great location in the hills just outside Gatlinburg giving fantastic views of the Smokies from our room and the restaurant balconies. Rooms are luxurious and attractive with all the trappings of a four star hotel. Fine dining available in the hotel's restaurant with reasonable choice of high quality dishes. Would […] not hesitate to recommend if you are seeking a luxury Smokies romantic retreat away from the tourist trap of downtown Gatlinburg. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Lodge at Buckberry creek Gatlinburg"
"Would definitely stay here again!"

My husband and I decided to go to the Great Smoky Mountains on our way back to Virginia. The Lodge at Buckberry Creek caught my attention on the website and we were not disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable and had a wonderful view of the mountains...really relaxing! Although all the staff were gracious and helpful, Kyle at the reception desk could make things happen. We arrived on a Saturday evening and he personally talked to the Chef to see if we could be fitted in for dinner. And what a meal...absolutely delicious! Taylor, our waiter, was not only a waiter but a great source of information that evening and during our morning breakfasts on the balcony. The homemade cookies left by the housekeeping staff were a nice touch and delicious. Great place to stay if you are interested in the Great Smoky Mountains!
"Top Notch in the Great Smokies"

My wife and I had planned to visit Great Smoky Mountains National Park for many years but finally got around to it last month. Having read about the notorious tourist strip in Gaitlinburg we wanted to stay somewhere away from the hustle and bustle and more in keeping with the mood of our vacation. The Inn fit the bill to a T. After calling to confirm there was a suitable fitness room I made the reservation on their web site which was quickly confirmed by return email as was the AAA 10% discount. Upon arrival we were not disappointed. The Inn is situated in several buildings on a wooded hill high above the Gaitlinburg downtown. The central building houses the registration desk and the dining and event area with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. The rooms are located in two (three?) three story buildings, all with rear balconies and views of the surrounding mountains. The building(s) to the east of Registration have the best views as the lower floors are not partially obstructed by trees. Parking is in front of each building. The grounds are well maintained and in keeping with the rustic nature of the area. Arriving on a Wednesday for 4 nights, check-in was quick and friendly. We stayed in a Studio Suite on the middle floor of the west building in the easternmost room. The view was great and the balcony was a great escape to have a drink after a day in the Park. These rooms are set up to house families comfortably. Our room had a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher when your first entered and opened up into a large, comfortable room with bed on one end (with ceiling fan) and sleep sofa and gas fireplace on the other. There is a Keurig coffee maker to make coffee with creamer supplied in the fridge along with just enough bottled water to make coffee each day. The room itself was flawless, in immaculate shape, clean, well maintained with no obvious maintenance issues. The Queen (king?) bed was comfortably firm. The bathroom smartly housed a double sink, shower, and separate whirlpool bath. The bathroom was in excellent shape with nothing looked dated or worn. Central air conditioning, during our warm, humid stay, was quiet and worked well. Free wifi in room was dependable and as fast as we needed it. Flat screen TV worked well (dvd player also included) with plenty of cable channels. TV swivels so that either bed or sofa is covered. Fresh baked cookies left in room each day was a nice touch. Continental breakfast was included. While it included bagels, yogurt, fresh baked muffins and scones, juices, and a bowl of oranges, apples and pears, it could have included freshly cut up melon and bananas, but was ok. Weekend bonus was scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits thrown in. We had dinner at the Inn one evening to treat ourselves and escape the mediocre food on the tourist strip and my separate review can be found under restaurant reviews. Fitness room was acceptable. Tread mill, elliptical, weights and small nautilus were sufficient to supplement the exercise obtained from walking up and down trails in the Park. While the room rate was a bit more than the hotels on the strip, it was worth every penny in both the quality and graceful tranquility. The Inn is a place we will happily return to as soon as we can make time to visit the Great Smokies again!

We went to The lodge at buckberry creek for our 26th anniversary and it was picture perfect! Clean. Comfy beds and bedding. We even saw a momma bear and two cubs from our balcony. Loved the options you can order before you arrive. I surprised my husband with chocolate covered strawberries, fruit and cheese tray and sparkling wine. And the view was AMAZING. Worth the price!
"Perfect location, top notch service, peaceful retreat"
This get away was the perfect location to get to the National park and downtown Gatlinburg. It was a tranquil retreat with all the amenities if a hotel. The pavilion by the river was our favorite place. Most importantly the staff was friendly and willing to help above and beyond.
"Great service but less than perfect room!"
08/19/14 lddixon Granbury
The lodge was very nice and the staff was excellent! We were a little disappointed with 3 things, however. We arrived late in the evening and received a room that was at basement level and SMELLED like it....very musky and moldy smelling. Being so low, the view was not great due to tall trees blocking view of mountains. The room, however proved to be very comfortable and quiet with an amazing bed. The complimentary breakfast was less than we expected with no hot items at all. The view from the dining room was very nice! Ultimately, it was close to town and comfortable, but we would probably try somewhere different next time.
Had a wonderfully, relaxing weekend at the lodge. The view of Mt. LeConte from our room was breath-taking. We were overall pleased with our stay. The rooms were nicely furnished. We enjoyed the light, complimentary breakfast on the deck overlooking the mountains and made many memories hiking along the lodge trail to the creek-side pavilion with stoked fireplace awaiting our arrival. Such special attention to even the smallest details. I can't wait to sneak back!

It appears our new tradition on our anniversary is to stay at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek (Buckberry)and hike the next day. One of my friends indicated that she would rather go to Hawaii! Not us. This is our 4th time to stay at Buckberry and it won't be our last. Everyone there is so friendly, helpful and nice. We have NEVER had a bad experience there. In addition to the wonderful staff, the food is really good too. It is great to have a wonderful meal then walk to your room. No crowds, no driving, very convenient. I've spoken about how comfortable the rooms are before. One thing we really like is the shower! It is large and roomy and the towels are nice and thick too. We will be back and one special thing we are planning is to bring our grandchildren next summer for the fireflies. We'll stay at Buckberry and they will transport us to see the fireflies. No worrying about getting on a waiting list for the trolley!
"The Lodge at Buckberry Creek was a wonderful weekend get away!"

We could have not asked for a more wonderful weekend! The staff, the accommodations, the restaurant- everything met out highest expectations! We had not visited Gatlinburg in 35 years! I'm so glad we did not stay downtown! It was nothing like what I had remembered!
"lovely property, not always lovely customer service"
08/17/14 michelle b Saint Louis, Missouri
The property was in a great location for our visit to Smoky Mountain Natl Park. The views were beautiful and our room was very nice and clean. The complimentary breakfast was less than expected-we were told it included hot items, which it did not. The room rate had actually increased and we were told this was the reason, yet when we inquired, their only concern was which employee had misinformed us. No apology and certainly no attempt to offer any substitutions, just that "we could order off the a al carte menu for a charge". Even the continental breakfast was lacking-unless you consider raisin bran to be "assorted cereals". We did dine at the restaurant one evening and the food was very good, however, the service was again lacking. Considering the prices that are charged for entrees, the service & overall experience did not measure up.
"Great Place in The Smokies"

What a great place, for a reasonable price. Make sure you hike down to the pavilion. The restaurant is great as well, although not cheap, but still worth it. It's close enough to the park, but far enough away from the tourists trap areas.
