Radisson Blu Hotel, Ålesund - Alesund

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The hotel is conveniently located near the main streets of Ålesund and the personell was friendly. The only negative thing to say is that the bathroom was not properly cleand (hairs on the floor), when we arrived.

It was right next to the waters and some shops, so we were able to take a stroll after dinner. Breakfast was spectacular. Staff was nice, helped us with transportation to airport.

We stayed at this hotel while on a Norway on a Nutshell trip. It is very convenient to the Hurtigruten ferries - like right next door, we could see the ships arrive. Also, when we arrived in Alesund on the bus, we were not sure how far the hotel was from the bus terminal so we took a taxi. If one is up to walking three blocks, that is not necessary, […] it is an easy walk. The rooms were nice size, free wi-fi, bathrooms good w/ amenities, breakfast buffet good. We were able to leave one suitcase in their storage room while we went up to Geiringer and could have stayed in the lobby after returning until the midnight ferry arrived. Our room was right next to the ferry dock, so it was noisy as the were loading ships at odd hours. Otherwise, the location was very convenient to walking anywhere in town and the breakfast buffet was super.

Hotel was easy to find. Great location. Quiet area, but short walk to everything. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great, room was clean, and very much what you would expect from a hotel in Europe.

this hotel is located right next to the port where our ship departs. we booked this hotel for this reason. it's a pretty good hotel and right next to the water. however, the service could have been better. besides, it is not in the desired area of the town.

Hotel is In the heart of the town on the waters edge and a short trip to AES airport (about 20 minutes). One is able to stroll to many restaurants, attractions and shops. Good selection of hot and cold foods for the buffet breakfast. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would happily recommend the hotel to others and return myself.

Everithing O.K. except two observations. 1- Missing Restaurant service on Sundays. 2- Stools in the room is noisy because they are not protected with rubber feet and skate the floor!

We stayed here for one night due to its proximity to the Hurtigruten ferry terminal, but in retrospect probably would have paid a little more and stayed somewhere a little nicer and walked a bit further to catch the ferry. Really good hotel and well located for the hurtigruten cruise ships. Hotel staff allowed us to store baggage all day and spend the evening into hotel lobby as we waited for late (00:45) cruise departure. Would also recommend the terrace area as a great place to watch the sun set in Alesund

The location of the hotel close to the part of Aelsun you want to be in if visiting and being on the water is excellent. The rooms are top notch, the service great and the breakfast buffet everything you want. You can help yourself to coffee downstairs at anytime. High speed WiFi is essential and works without a hitch. Friendly staff, very comfortable room, and great breakfast. The hotel has a nice view of the water and its a close walk to many restaurants. However, you can also have a giant cruise ship park in front of your window, blocking the view.

The hotel is situated immediately on the water just near the harbour and the centre of Alesund - a great location. Some of the rooms must have a fantastic view over the water to the surrounding islands - ours didn't, but we could see the harbour in the other direction. The dining room has an outside terrace over the water, although unfortunately while […] we were there it was too cold to use. There is a wonderful and very extensive breakfast buffet - a real high point. We booked a room for three and found only two beds on arrival. A folding bed was wheeled in but we were left to put it up and move furniture so it would fit - not what I would have expected from a Radisson hotel. The room was now rather cramped and stuffy. You couldn't open the windows much and the temperature control system didn't seem to incorporate air conditioning. We were there at a weekend and were pointed to a nearby area of free street parking, but during the week would have had to pay to use the hotel car park. Overall it is a nice hotel in a great location but not quite as good as I had hoped. Read more

All the staff were lovely, smiling and happy to help at all times and even allowed us to wait in the lounge area for our ship to depart at 1230am the next night!!!, . Our room was terrific with great views over the water. Honestly had a terrific stay and this hotel is highly recommended.

great services the hotel staff was very helpful when our cruise was canceled during midnight, they gave us advices in traveling and looked it up flights for us. the first room we stayed at have an amazing view. the second one is slightly smaller without a view. breakfast was fine.

A very enjoyable stay. Clean modern and airy rooms. Efficient Housekeeping and courteous staff. The outside bar was the ideal place to have a drink and watch the sun go down. Many did not "work". Maybe too early in the season... The ordered (from the hotel) shuttle bus came 30 mins late (not the hotels fault, but very annoying), ordered extra bed was not there (was quikly fixed), one key did not work (was also quikly fixed), only 1 set of towels in the room for 3. But the location is fine to to start the Hurtigruten trips […] and the SUPER good breakfast corrected the mistakes in the morning. Read more

Hotellet begynner å bære prege av behov for oppussing (maling listeverk korridorer etc.). Dårlig belysning på baderom gir et litt billig preg. Videre tar det usedvandlig lang tid mht at noen svarer på telefon når en ringer inn (har opplevd dette ved flere innringninger ulike dager). Ellers er betjeningen serviceinnstilte og hyggelige. Hotellet med beliggenhet […] har et stort potensiale som jeg mener dere ikke tar ut!!! Det burde være mulighet til å gjøre hotellet til det mest ettertraktede i Ålesund. Uten forbedringer og oppgraderinger bor jeg nok neste gang i Brosundet.... Ta dette som velmente råd. Read more

Flott beliggenhet på kaikanten, gjorde ikke noe å få business class rom med utsikt rett ut mot hurtigruta. Men siden det manglet gardiner nok til å dekke hele vinduet lurer jeg på om det var noen ombord på hurtigruta som fikk se mer enn de hadde bedt om. Det vi har å kritisere er servicen i resepsjonen og muligheten for å få noe i baren. En av resepsjonistene (trainee) egner seg sannsynligvis ikke for en jobb i "front" - selv etter at hun får mer innføring i jobben. Han som sto i resepsjonen om kvelden, kunne ikke fremskaffe en øl - og foreslo heller ikke en flaske øl da kranen var tom. De andre traineene […] var ok og hyggelige og har nok en fremtid. Read more
