Ocean Beach Club - Virginia Beach

I loved every minute staying there!!! From the entrance to the exit I loved it .. My fiance & i didn't wanna leave :-( , but we'll be back soon!!

The hotel was great!! It is a very well-maintained property outside and in. We didn't use the pools but they looked clean and there was plenty of lounge seating. There was a large fire pit outside by the bar/restaurant where you could sit when it was a little chilly. The entertainment was ok....Overall we really enjoyed our stay except for one important […] detail. The bed was extremely uncomfortable! We both woke up every morning with terrible back pain. Really nice hotel but the studio rooms are very small and there is no way that is a queen bed in the room as advertised. The bed was a twin at best! Hotel was very nice and very clean.

We had a nice stay here. The pool was especially great, there is an adults only infinity pool and hot tub which is a good break from the clamor of the main pools. We had lunch at Tortugas was overpriced and the service was subpar at the restaurant. The poolside Tortugas waitress was great though and was easily found and very attentive. I was surprised to note that for a hotel with decent reviews the rooms were not really clean and the towels had stains. My room windows were very dirty from the outside. I thought that everything was okay until Friday night at 11:30 pm when someone entered my room. I informed the hotel staff but I never got a call back letting me know that everything has been taken care of. We had an awesome trip! We walked to great restaurants all 3 nights and never had to use our car. Having the pools & outdoor tiki bar/restaurant was our favorite part. Waitresses were so nice! Definitely worth the extra price to have a suite with a 7 seater dining table and L-shaped couch for everyone to fit comfortably when visiting. The ONLY down […] side to this hotel is that at 2:30/3pm, the hotel blocks all sun near the pools and it gets a little chilly with the breeze. They are building a new hotel right next door. The crane operator begins work at 6 am by blowing an air horn. Plus there is a military base nearby and jet-fighter planes are constantly flying overhead- day and night. The front desk offers earplugs, for your convenience, no lie.

The hotel is nice and would have tremendous potential if it had better management. Our room lacked any toiletries and had not been restocked with towels. The key cards initially did not work. Lastly, check out time is 10AM! The hot tub was very nice though.

We arrived there @ 3:45. We stood in line to check in until 4:20. When we were finally able to check in, our room was not ready. We asked for them to call when it was. No one called, we went back at 5:30 and the key was ready.............NOONE CALLED..:( The room was nice though.

This hotel is in mint condition and the rooms are fantastic. I was there on business and some of my cohorts were staying at the Hilton just down the road. My room was way better than their room. Nicely furnished. Clean. I bet other rooms are great. BUT 207 is right next to the air handling system. It took me a while to figure out what the noise was, but at first I thought someone was vacuuming in the next room and the walls were very thin. But then it would bang every couple of minutes, like someone slamming a door except more like banging […] on a metal air duct. Then I realize I am the only room on that side of the hall and the noise was coming from the Air Handling system for the entire building. It starts upon arrival... there is a symbolical bellman, but there is no help. The parking lot is a block away, and they won't park your car for you... We have stayed at less expensive properties that do so. Then the check in came, that was rather uneventful until after they check you in, you have to go to the concierge to get bracelets that nobody […] checks for the indoor pool. It was rather ridiculous to wait in front of an empty desk for twenty minutes, to then be told that the concierge was off to another building. We have two young boys, so swimming is a priority. We got down to the indoor pool, or rather "pond". It was about 1/3 the apparent size portrayed in the photos. The water was literally a cloudy gray with a soapy like foam in the corner. We simply couldn't allow our 4 and 6 year olds to swim in that. I am sure that it may have been an off couple of days for the property, as they all have them, but we simply didn't want to find out more. Read more

There should be a better explanation of a room with an "Ocean" view and a room with an "Ocean-front" view. We barely saw any water from our window after paying a premium to do so. Another room was offered but it was right under a construction pit. There is no room service. The parking garage is over a block away. We had to get one of our keys replaced […] twice because it was defective and the desk person never checked it. Housekeeping left our door open and unlocked all day on Saturday-- to lazy to use their key. Fortunately nothing was taken. Worst if all the whole resort is a timeshare business so we kept getting "attacked" in the lobby to sit through their pitch. They even called us everyday at 8:00am. Next time we'll pay extra to stay at the Hilton down the street. Read more

Believed that we would have an oceanfront room - got an oceanview room that was really a view of a contruction site and overlooking the entrance veranda. The balconies were positioned to view the contruction site and Atlantic Ave traffic. The stay was certainly not what was advertised.

I have been to va beach quite a few times and have never stayed in a hotel this nice. I loved everything about the hotel especially the fact that they have people to carry your luggage up to your room for you very nice! The night I checked in the hotel held a charge of $120 on my credit card for incidentals without telling me. I've stayed in plenty of nice hotels and had them scan my credit card in case I got room service but I've never had a hotel actually hold a pending charge that took days to release. Room VERY SMALL , Tub Shower tepid water, no Coffee shop or place for a bite. Indoor pool cool and very heavy on Chlorine. The construction pile driver next door for a new Hotel was un-nerving. Should have been told in advance so we could have changed Hotel. Overall not again.

The plus is we were able to use the indoor pools in Ocean Beach club and Ocean Air hotel which was fun. (Ocean Air was far nicer of a hotel) The bad, was our conjoining room had very loud guests which nothing got done about and in the morning there was no hot water, so we got no morning shower. what a gorgeous and wonderful place! watching the waves roll up almost made me feel like I was outdoors in the ocean! The only complaints I have were the lack of cell phone service in the rooms and the very LOUD construction outside. Friendly and super otherwise.
