PROS: Private walkway to main street/beach. Safe/secure location. CONS: Receptionist service was below par, pool wasn't cleanest, neighbor can easily look into our room/shower from thier balcony and vice versa, No internet signal in our room.

We traveled throughout Costa Rica from Colorado for our honeymoon. This hotel was amazing! Great rooms that were comparable to US rooms. Huge bathroom, great AC, beautiful grounds and pools. It was so nice to walk to the beach down the private and safe walkway and yet be off the busy and load Main Street. We would love to stay here again!

I had the worst possible stay at Jardin del Eden. let me list the reasons... Bad communication - promised us rollout beds/mattresses for a friend who was to join us a couple of days later (at an extra cost) Recanted – not only did they deny the mattresses, they refused to let her stay with us because they had no record of this. This is at midnight once […] she reaches from the airport, with no one but a security guard who doesn’t speak English but gets his orders from a phantom management on the phone. After an exhausting few hours of finding alternate accommodation for her, we go back to our rooms, only to have them send hotel security (2.00 am) to check the room and confirm that we indeed do not have a third person staying in the room. We were so stressed out for the rest of the night, we dint sleep at all ! No peepholes or chains for security, random men knocking at our doors at unearthly hours, exceptionally bad customer service, unapologetic demeanor the following day for almost 2.5 hours … until we threatened to call the cops because of this very clear security breach I deserve better after spending thousands of dollars for a relaxing couple of days!!! Great location with a private 100 meter walkway straight to the main street (beach is right across). Only 35 rooms, so it's quiet with a beautiful pool and bar to relax at all day. Bar staff was extremely friendly, people at the front desk were OK.

We spent a week at the JDE and thought it was an excellent value. It is a beautiful, small hotel with a lovely pool and restaurant. Well located and quite, the hotel provided for all of our needs at a very fair price. The staff was top notch, friendly and made us feel welcomed. We recommend the JDE unhesitatingly.

Basically, this is an average hotel. The photos on the hotel site do not truly represent the rooms, and the bathrooms are in serious need of an upgrade - our room was not cleaned until 4 pm daily and the front desk staff was reluctant to provide us with towels. Breakfast is the same meal each day.

Hotel Jardin del Eden is... OK. Nothing special but perfectly fine. A bit overpriced for what it offers, though. Katie, who works at the front desk, is very nice and helpful. The concierge woman was not helpful at all and actually one of the guests staying at the hotel was more helpful with travel options and ideas. The concierge woman was clearly just […] giving the option she already had an agreement/deal with and was not putting in any effort to find other options. The breakfast was extremely simple (scrambled eggs and cut fruit and some granola) and repetitive after 8 mornings. But the restaurant staff (especially Brian and the woman who worked breakfastwere very nice and helpful. The nachos were yummy! The pool service was irregular and spotty. The pool is fine - small but nice ambiance. The rooms are small and oddly decorated. I did not like the satin comforter and pillows. It looked cheesy and tacky. The water pressure in the shower was very good, which matters to me since I have a lot of hair. The hotel does have good wifi but it's not available in the rooms - only in the lobby and by the pool. Also, the rooms do have great TV channel options with lots of Miami based stations. The location of the hotel is good but for the price you would expect better beach access. I think there are better valued hotels in Tamarindo and ones that have better rooms. Overall, a fine hotel and a fine experience but I'll be finding a new hotel to stay in for my next Tamarindo trip. Very nice facility. Town is okay, but not exceptional. Very nice beach that is about a ten minute walk. We rented a car with GPS, otherwise finding the entrance would have been very challenging.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful, the views are spectacular, the staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Having read mixed reviews we were somewhat apprehensive, but we could not have had a more pleasurable experience, and definitely recommend the Hotel El Jardin del Eden.

The hotel grounds, the pool and the restaurant are great, but the rooms are old and need a major update. We stayed in room number 2 and it smelled like mold. The bedding was yellow and the bathroom had no fan or any type of ventilation. On top of all of this the shower cutrtain was too short and every time we would take a shower the bathroom floor was […] soaked with water. There was no view from the room, basically you are looking at some bushes ( although we paid for superior room and were promised a pool or garden view ). Service is excellent and the drinks and food are very affordable and good too. (Better then most of the places in town.) The hotel serves breakdfast daily...eggs, rice and beans and fresh fruit. Not a huge selection, but better then nothing. I would not stay at this hotel again....room comfort is poor and like I said before, rooms are old and smelly. Read more

We stayed for three nights during November 2011. The hotel is nice and very convenient to town, though the smell of sewage and cleanliness of hte walkway was unpleasant. Our room was decent, but had quite a few small problems, like the door didn't close and had to be slammed shut. This was also true for our neighbors, meaning we were constantly waking […] each other up in the morning and at night. The louvers on the AC were missing and the air was blowing on our faces at night, a minor nuisance, but also a really simple fix that shouldn't be overlooked by a decent hotel. The worst part of the hotel room by far was the ants - there were ants on our walls the entire time, big ones on the wall towards the deck and smaller ants in the bathroom. They didn't bother us or get in our stuff, so it wasn't a big deal, but still I'd rather stay in a room that doesn't constantly have something crawiling around on the walls and counter tops. We were in town for a wedding and found the hotel to be a very quiet oasis from the bustle of the town. The garden setting was really lovely, as were the rooms and restaurant. I highly recommend Hotel Jardin del Eden. The views are amazing from the lobby and the rooms. This hotel is so pretty throughout the complex. The private access to the beach is a narrow alley from the hotel to the street before the beach. It can be scary walking alone, even if it is lit up.

El hotel se encuentra muy bien ubicado, en el centro de tamarindo y frente a la playa (que por cierto es muy linda). El acceso a las mismas es por un pasillo privado, muy cómodo y seguro. El hotel es muy agradable, bien mantenido en general, bien ubicado a una cuadra de la playa por un pasillo privado. Lo mejor fue el restaurante que tenía una comida de excelente nivel, un menú de lujo y personal muy simpático. Era de mucho mejor calidad que otros restaurantes de Tamarindo, e incluso algo más barato que otros.
